Vtg Antique GE 16" Oscillating Electric Brass Blade Desk Table Fan Working
Antique General Electric 16 in. Brass Blade Oscillating Fan Nameplate Reads: 110v DC TYPE- DO FORM- AD2 No. E 243409 CAT- 6056 Spec- 272079 Measures about 20 in. tall overall. With a 17 1/2 in. wide guard and 16 in. blade. All of the parts are original including the twisted cloth wall cord and head cord. It was repainted black a long time ago. It doesn't look very bad. As you can see from the photos, but it isn't a professional job. You can see some of the brush strokes once you really start looking and they painted the head cord and guard while they were at it. It's in great mechanical condition. It's fully tested and it works and oscillates on all three speeds. And everything operates as it should. The blades are balanced and it doesn't make any more noise than it should or erratically vibrate. It's not bad cosmetically ... moreeither. Even despite the repaint it puts on a pretty good show. The felt on the bottom is destroyed. And there's a light dent and some surface rust on the bottom plate. It has some paint wear and some chipping. It doesn't have any serious issues. Nothing is broken, no pieces are missing, the guard is straight, the plug and cord are in good condition, and there's no rust on the body or corrosion or oxidation on any of the brass. I apologize for the high shipping cost. But this fan large and heavy, and will have to be disassembled and properly packaged in a large box. The stock market up, and consumer confidence up as well, i thought i would list some of my better lamps that i have been holding on to for the past couple of years. this is one of them. i have for auction this very nice handel desk lamp. the base in excellent original patina and in fine working order. the is no metalwork damage and it is signed in cloth label handel. the base has been recently rewired with period style cloth cord and it measures 13 inches tall in its upright position. its outward measurement from back of baseplate to front of shade is about 15 inches. the shade measures 5 inches tall by 6 and 1/4 inches wide. the shade without any glass loss. No chips or dents, paint is original and largely intact. 7 1/2 inches across(the long way) 5 inches from top to bottom. you will not find a better quality high end antique secretary desk for sale anywhere. i will tell you why. this piece. Maker i do not know, quality of horner but is not likely his work, is as well constructed and remains in that condition after 120 years of service. there are no loose or wobbly screws or holes. the hardware is all original and perfect. it has all original locks that are all tight and just like the day they were installed. it has the original keys and all the locks lock and work perfectly. when the door is shut there is not crack or room between the door and frame large enough to allow a razor blade to slide into. the same way with the drawers, drop front and top drawer which is spectacular and boast a serpentine curve. this piece is as solid and tight as any i have ever owned and the correctness and tightness would lead one ... moreto believe it was made yesterday. not really, they do not make stuff in this day and time that remotely compares to antique furniture. most secretary desks, there are some gaps in the bookcase door, usually wobbly hinges, drop front loose, drawers flopping here and there. you can shut most of them up but they have issues. anyway, construction is perfect, solid, quality material, and workmanship. who ever made it was a triple A firm. on the back there is a paper label that has spaces for the no. of the item, the finish, who did the cabinet work, filling, rubbing, polishing, trimming, and packing. these areas have been penciled in, but the wording has faded beyond ascertainment. there is also a label that has willick bros, muncating? somewhere. can't make that out either. the piece also has incised inventory numbers in the boards feature only used by the highest quality furniture makers. it also has stamped inventory nos. here and there. are you bored yet? now for the piece itself. so well done. pierced carved,very very well done griffins on each corner of the top crest. great solid tight sconce in the center held up by a wonderful turned column, all fitting perfectly and as

for sale is a very large and useful piece of antique furniture. this is a double secretary bookcase side by side desk. it has many wonderful features including galleries. Carvings, doors, drawers, drop front writing surface, a bank of cubbies, beveled center mirror just to mention a few. note the outside column of the door frame is part of the door and moves as the door moves. it has 4 shelves on each side. i have one out to allow a large porcelain romeo and juliet statue to sit. it has a lot of storage for whatever, i put porcelain in most of my pieces, but it would hold a bunch of books also. it is in near mint condition structure wise. it is quite heavy and is in three pieces which i have pictured. i had to move it out of a down stairs room i am converting to a bedroom. i have gotten too old or too lazy to climb the steps. at any rate, ... morei unloaded it and moved it to another room that really is not a good fit for it at all so i am going to try to sell it. the three sections go together and are held in place by dowels. you then attach screws from the inside of either outside cabinet to secure it to the center section. primarily the screws are just to keep the dowels from pulling out of the piece they slip into. it is large and heavy, it a bit over 62 inches wide, 17 inches deep, and 73 inches tall. it has a tyler desk or tyler cabinet co. st. louis, mo. paper label on it when i bought it about 8 years ago. the label was barely hanging on so i took it off and kept it. at this junction however, i do not know what i did with it. i know i have it but have not looked at the right spot yet. i paid 42000 for it like nearly 8 years ago, could have been longer. ihave several pieces displaced and need to dispose of them so i am starting this great piece at 1000 less than i paid. if you note the joints in drawer i pictured you can see they are dowel joints, so i expect it was made prior to 1890, after that time they did factory dovetail. pictures are bad and sorry about the dusk, didn't get the top wiped off i see. it m

From the early 1900's, though I cannot be exactly sure of the date because my grandmother brought it back from one of her many ocean voyages. An antique American military field writing box or field desk. Examined by experts at the Baltimore Militaria Show in March and dated to c. 1810. The desk is missing a brass corner mount and a brass lock cover. The lock itself is intact and the original key is included. It is difficult to be certain. But I suspect that it is also missing an interior writing surface. Approximately 9" x 12" x 4" in size, overall excellent condition. I would be pleased to answer questions on this item if I can. This is a very UNIQUE and ORNATE HANDMADE AND HAND HAMMERED MATCH HOLDER. It measures approximately 6 1/2" X 4 1/2" It appears to be very old with an absolute great patina. The dog is tethered to a doghouse with a small chain and the inside of the house if the holder for the matches. There are hundreds of tiny holes hammered into the piece to make light shine through the holder. A very thin piece of brass colored tin or brass(a magnet does not stic k to it) Was used to make this beautiful antique. The match holder sits nicely on any flat surface.
