For sale is a 1950s 2 arm industrial Jielde multi angle articulated machine ... morelamp. The aluminium elbows have been polished. The lamp is in working order and comes with 2.4 metres of new flex but not the plug as it is a French one. It is in very good used condition with some very minor signs of use to the reflector's surface. The reflector has its original high temperature painted surface and still has the bulb wattage/voltage sticker intact. The switch is in the base. I have included the lamp's weighted vehicle brake disc base in the sale. These lamps are very sort after and nice examples like this are becoming difficult to find. The photos don't do it justice! The lamp takes a Standard Bayonet cap bulb(B22) which are available at all DIY outlets. Bulb not included. The maximum wattage is 150w. Jielde lamps were designed by Jean-Louis Domecq for direct mounting on machine tools and for use in workshops. The lamps have now become particularly fashionable for use in loft style apartments and in homes generally as desk lamp/floor or wall lamps. So, hence I have fitted a trailing flexible lead to make the light more useable in the home. I have displayed this light using a vehicle brake disc which provides a solid base to show a typical method of mounting the light. Heavy sprockets. Hardwood- anything heavy will do the job. The light can also be fixed to a wall if required using its mounting base/bracket which has 3 holes in it. Although the light isn't heavy, it will require a solid wall and sturdy fixings to mount it as the movement required to adjust the lamp to the desired position will put stress on the mounting. This authenticated antique desk and chair has hand carvings throughout the entire desk even including the back. There are 5 carved open compartments for organizing and a hidden drawer that opens the full length of the desk with 4 divided sections inside. The center disposal is the original period velvet sack with a hanging cord attached to a lovely ivory pearl stone set within a bronze circular ring with designs. A walnut wood weight is attached. Hand wood carvings include 2 beautiful ladies protruding from sides of desk and removable cupid on the top that is attached to the lid that covers the compartment where the clock sits. The clock has 3 different hand ... moredesigns and incased in bronze. The face is a natural cream ivory? porcelain with black Roman numerals. The face is aged with some hairlines but the numerals are bold without any color loss. The clock has 2 front legs and a weighted bronze pendulum that you can view from the photo. It does move side to side and I hear ticking but is in need of adjusting. The clock is original and fits perfect to view from a circular opening made for it within the desk. This all original desk is in very good condition without repairs. It is hard to believe there are only two tips missing from the delicate finials. Located on left side underneath the desk and on the right side bottom between the legs. You will need to really search in the pictures because they are very hard to find. It is very rare to find a set. How fortunate to have this elaborate matching chair with velvet padded seat in such wonderful condition. The carvings are amazing and please view the lion and the Fiorentino symbol on the back of the chair. In my 30 years of experience I have never seen a desk set like this. Interesting design with a white marble base and attached instrument tray. This piece is completely restored. When I found this lamp it was in terrible condition. The last picture is of the lamp as found. I cleaned the base and the tray. Replaced the porcelain socket with an antique equivalent, replaced the arm, rewired the lamp with period style black twisted modern reproduction lamp cord and added the nice edison style filament bulb which will be included. This is a beautifully handcrafted Antique English Writing Slope or Travel Desk. It measures 16" by 9" by 4 1/2" The exotic wood veneer(possibly mahogany) has a very dramatic and variable grain that ranges from amber to black. The exquisite top features a radiant Mother of Pearl Cartouche( 2" by 1" with no engravings or markings) It has eight Mother of Pearl Discs that are positioned near the corners. The discs are connected by pewter'stringing lines' to form two rectangles on the top. I believe that the two shortest pewter'stringing lines' on the ends of the inner rectangle may be replacement pieces. There are also four Mother of Pearl discs on the front of the box. Connected by pewter'stringing lines' These also form a rectangle. The escutcheon has an inlay that is a bone color. But does not ... moreappear to be Mother of Pearl. The top opens to reveal a green velvet fabric-covered writing slope which appears to be original. There are five separate compartments for ink wells. Nibs, wax, stamps etc. There is also a removable concave pen tray with storage space beneath it. The green velvet-covered'top partition' pulls down with a black grosgrain tab to expose a storage compartment. The storage compartment measures 14 1/4" by 7 1/4" For stationary. The green velvet-covered'bottom partition' pulls open with a black grosgrain tab to expose a storage compartment. This storage compartment measures 14 1/4" by 5" For letters. The hinges and fittings are brass and there is a flush brass handle on each end of the box. There is a small chip in the veneer on the left front corner(photo#3) There is a 1/2" segment of the pewter'stringing line' that is missing in the same area. Antique Slope Portable Writing Lap Desk dated inside 1898
Up for auction is this lovely antique slope lap desk. It is not as fancy as some I've seen but this one has writings on one of the boards and a blue ink bottle. There is a date handwritten inside the box of May 11. 1898. There are 11 different names written inside the box along with where they came from. Most of the names list a town in Maine, one list Massachusetts and the other New Hampshire. It's so interesting and full of history! This lap desk has a blue felt writing surface and comes with a small blue ink bottle. This was an Maine estate sale buy. The box measures 11" x7-1/2" and 3-3/4 inches tall. What a little treasure! This is a very old item. It is not mint. The wooden box is sound, no cracks or breaks. The blue felt in side has some ink staining and wear spots. The wooden panels have writing on them. UNUSUAL ANTIQUE 1800s MONKEY DESK CLOCK
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Neoclassical in design. And believed to be from the 1800s, this unique little oddity measures 2.5” l x 1.75” w x 2.25” h. The bronze monkey is holding up a hand painted enamel and gilded shell clock. There are no marks besides a variation of the verb“to adjust” in French. It comes with a winding key and(damaged) chain. The clock currently does not work. The piece shows normal wear but is in good condition considering its age. The monkey(and therefore the clock) has a tendency to list to one side but that's due to inherent structure. Not damage.

Inspected by Robert Judson Clark and Tim Hansen, authorities on Bernard Maybeck. Full p rovenance available to legitimate buyers. Andrew Lawson was a geologist and seismologist who mapped the San Andreas Fault in California as well as presiding geologist on the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge. Bernard Maybeck was a famous architect in the San Francisco area who built two homes for Lawson. In 1896 and 1907. Lawson later built two homes of his own next door to the second home. antique american rosewood spinet desk great legs pull out top nice cubbies
for sale is a very nice spinet desk that i bought at the belle starr in st. louis. Mo. many years ago when belle star was the leading antique store in the st. louis area. at any rate, it was priced back then at 3500.00 i did not pay that much but the best i remember about 3K. at any rate, it has been in a parlor off the main foyer of my home for years. i have just recently made that room into a bedroom(getting too old or too lazy to climb the steps to my upstairs bedroom) and had to move out a number of pieces to allow for bedroom furniture. i listed a sideboard that was in there not long ago and will be listed a few other pieces that had to be moved. this is a very nice rosewood desk and a great size. i think it is in original finish. it has a slide out front board for additional writing surface and several nice cubby drawers. one of the ... moreknobs on one of the drawers i noticed is partially broken. outside of this, it has no damage or repairs that i am aware of. it is very sturdy and ready to sit in your home or office. the size is very suitable, some are way too large and some are way too small, kinda like the bears bed, this one is just right. it is 37 inches tall, 55.25 inches wide, and 27.5 inches deep. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyers expense. if someone does the buy it now, i will pay for shipping within the continental u.s. 48) states. good luck. ps. i took a look at the pictures that are on the listing page. they are quite terrible. this desk is much much nicer in person. i also noted a couple of small chips of wood gone on the top edge of the desk. the photos magnify them, they are small and not really very noticeable and do not affect the piece in anyway in my opinion. the desk needs to be cleaned with new life. it is a furniture masque that really brings life back into the wood and eliminates the dead look to the finish. however, it does look much much better in person.

The top with 2 hinged split-panel doors concealing an interior fitted with cubby holes, ledger slides and a single drawer. The base features a hinged lifting writing surface concealing an interior fitted with dividers and raised on well turned poplar legs. This southern piece comes from an Augusta County, Virginia estate.
