I have researched and ... moreresearched it have only discovered the following info. The design is called Gold Leaf Lacquer. It has beautiful motifs of white roses and birds. I believe it is what was called a"Shoe Cabinet" or a"Foyer Cabinet" and was naturally intended for storing shoes in. I can't find any artist or designer marks. I don't know if it is Chinese or Japanese but I am fairly certain it is one or the other. It hast has that wonderful Asian flair about it! It stands at approximately 30" tall. It is approximately 23-1/4" wide. It is approximately 11-1/4" deep. It looks to be modeled after some Asian Dynasty but I have no idea for sure or if it is a reproduction or an original. I can tell you that it is unique. There is a little wear with some black lacquer having been chipped off in some places and faded in a few other places. The brass footing on the legs is a little dented. Please see photos. Such a fantastic piece! Please understand that an item this large is going to have to be sent UPS and it will not be cheap. Made in England. Circa 1980 Bevan Funnel Yew wood Gothic arched doors Includes key Excellent condition, There are several unusual features to this lovely corner cabinet. First. The wood used is yew wood. Yew wood is a native English wood that is not common, but has many of the same features as maple. The second unusual feature is that we know who made this corner cabinet. Usually English furniture does not include a maker’s mark. On the inside of the lower door is the mark for Bevan Funnel, a very prestigious English furniture firm still in business today. We have dated this particular model to sometime around 1980. From the Gothic arches on the glass doors to the sturdy bracket feet. No attention to detail was spared on this corner cabinet. Inside the top section are two adjustable wooden shelves. They adjust via a brass pin and hole system. The lower cabinet contains one wooden shelf. Both cabinet doors lock and one key is included. A moulded cornice crowns the top while a recessed panel door with trim really shows of the attractive qualities of yew wood. The fact that after over 30 years this yew wood corner cabinet is still in excellent condition is a testament to the quality of skill and care that went into its construction. It has survived with no noticeable wear and would make an excellent addition to any room of your home! This yew wood corner cabinet would look great in any corner of the home! Plenty of display and storage space that all locks with included key. Here is the label from Bevan Funnel. On the inside of the lower door. The moulded cornice looks great on top. It features a darkened and worn dovetailed case, a single door with a reverse beveled panel, the original brass hinges and knob/latch on the door, a clean interior with four shelves that have from 3-3/4" 9" clearance between them, and a back with two holes for easy hanging. Up for bidding is an antique primitive pine corner cupboard. It is likely that it was built into a house and the back was put on later. The backing is 3 1/2 inch wide tongue and groove boards. They have been painted green on the back but are white on the inside of the cabinet with one corner free of paint. There original structure has been sanded to remove lots of the chippy pain t. It reveals the various paint colors that have accumulated over time with the most recent tan over white over light green over dark green. The two metal butterfly hinges and slide lock appear to be original and very secure. I suspect the longer hinge at the bottom of the door was added later. But I am not sure. Here we have a wonderful antique wooden bookcase cabinet or cupboard in good used antique vintage condition. Has two doors that will lock. One door has two little push latches one on top and one on bottom. The other door has a lock with a skeleton key hole. I do not have a key to the lock. This was found at an estate sale in Palm Beach and it did not have the key. You will have to find the right key. This is just the most adorable cabinet I have ever seen. I don't know if it had a bottom piece to it at one time or it just sat on the floor as it is. It has a wonderful aromatic old smell to it. I just love to open it and smell that smell. ANTIQUE HEAVY CARVED QUARTERSAWN OAK MIRROR BACK SIDEBOARD CUPBOARD CABINET
Here is an absolutely terrific find. Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh and in very nice condition for an early 20th century quartersawn oak cupboard, with beautiful carvings including detailed leaves on the banquet drawers and upon the doors and mirror back top. This lovely sideboard has a nice, large serving area top surface, measuring 59 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back( 24 inches deep from the front of banquet drawers) with a surface height of 38 1/2 inches tall. These are the overall dimension of the bottom section of the sideboard, which travels easily in two pieces. The top mirror back section measures 40 inches tall by 55 inches wide and 11 inches deep, front to back, at it's deepest point, allowing both top and bottom to be easily blanket wrapped for safe and easy shipping. The mirror back top features ... morecolumns, candle stands on each side 12 inches above the top surface with beveled mirrors behind to maximize reflection. These mirrors measure 15 1/2 inches tall by 12 1/2 inches wide and are clear with beveled edges as is the larger central mirror measuring 27 1/4 inches tall and 19 1/2 inches wide. The cabinet has 2 drawers. One on either side below the top surface, each 14 1/4 inches by 14 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches deep, and two delightfully carved banquet drawers each 18 inches wide by 16 inches front to back by 3 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers are cabinets with beautifully carved doors. The two side cabinets measure 18 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 24 inches tall. In the bottom of the right side facing cabinet is a cellarette 16 inches by 16 inches by 4 inches tall, with room for 9 bottles with 13 inches overall clearance, that slides in and out for easy access. Above the top shelf on that side is an additional 9 inches of clearance space. Here is a very nice and clean antique kitchen cabinet/ cupboard. It is from a recent southern Ohio antique furniture liquidation sale. It is in its original condition and has been well cared for over the years. Very plum and straight with beautiful wood. The bottom door latch has been replaced at some point and I'm not sure about the 2 drawer pulls if they are original or not. Glass is original to piece and in excellent condition. Rear back panels are tongue and groove. Drawers and doors all fit nice. It has great patina as well. Classic feel. It was said at sale to be from around the 1930's era. I'm told the wood is cherry, very pretty. It is not an extremely heavy piece, average weight. It looks to have maybe a couple types of wood in the construction. It was removed from a local central Virginia estate. It measures 19-1/2" tall x 15" wide x 8" deep. Made from walnut wood many years ago. It features a nice aged patina, a single glass front door attached with the original five small hinges, a metal knob on the door, and a clean interior with three fixed shelves. Two of the shelves have small plate grooves in the back. There is 7" clearance between two of the interior shelves and 4-1/2' between the other. This is a primitive cupboard. The cupboard is in the Eastlake" style" with circular top shelf popular in the 1880's cupboards. Very quaint and looks wonderful with other doll's early furniture. Miniature Antique Eastlake Cupboard Estate find in North Carolina. This is a great little decorative cupboard. It is Eastlake style with carved floral patterns on fancy back panel and on the two side panels that hold the side shelves. There are two shelves on the sides and a cupboard in the center. The cupboard has really nice unusual hinges and thick beveled glass on the door. There is a nice scalloped trim across the top of the cupboard and then a decorative back splash with great cut outs on the sides and across the top. Four cut out finials. Painted yellow with some wear to the paint, it could be left as is, stripped and refinished or repainted. It it a great little piece to use in so many different settings. The latch is tin that has a brass wash coating. It has aged to a nice rustic brass color. I cleaned the latch and washed it with water so it is ready to use for many years to come. It was made in the early 1900's. I put a drop of oil inside so it works well with a nice strong spring.
