The broken-arch pediment is striking and unusual. The thin arms lifting from the molded top in a cresting wave, curling into fine inlaid pinwheel rosettes; these opposing waves of the pediment flank a fine inlaid pointed urn finial raised on a plinth base of conforming inlay. The arched door is crafted with through-tenon joinery, the fragile corners supported with butterfly dovetails on the inside(possibly later) it features twelve glazed panels framed in scratched-bead walnut astragals, opening on original hinges to reveal a shelved interior. Each shelf is channeled to display plates and platters, the front edge of each shelf molded, one shelf crafted to hold utensils in the front edge. The case has outstanding proportions. These eased by the thick molding around the waist and the inlaid band around the shoulders- this easily divides the visual planes of the piece into graduated levels that are easier for the eye to digest. The bottom of the case has a pair of solid walnut doors framed in a matching inlaid band, each embellished with inlaid shield escutcheons to match the arched door, these opening to reveal a shelved interior. The entire case rests over original bracket feet. The construction of the case is very fine. The pair of stiles on either side of the case joined in some kind of hidden dovetail or butt-joint, running from just an inch above the ground through the molding of the crest. Seeking to bring art back to the furnishings, works of the Aesthetic Movement are characterized by intricate inlays, complex veneer work, reinterpretations of 17th and 18th Century styles- particularly Chinese Gothic and Chippendale. In this example. We see remarkable influence from the William and Mary Period promulgated in the inverted trumpet pillar supports beneath the top shelf and the interpretation of bun feet. However, the case has an angular geometry that speaks of Neoclassicism across the rest of the surface, the cross-banded veneered doors and mirror reflect in the truncated prisms that flank the drawer- the angles literally bounce around the entire facade of the cabinet. These are given structure and purpose with the deeply fluted Neoclassical columns that flank either door and raise the entire case architecturally. Completing the form is a crest that is highly naturalistic and chip carved with great skill. A pierced and flowing design highly representative of the Art Nouveau movement. The veneered doors are match-booked, creating a circular vortex that swirls around the panels. Crafted in Walnut and Walnut veneers over White Pine. This is an absolute treasure for any serious collector of the fine works of the Aesthetic Movement- it is a piece you can look on and study, finding more intricacies the longer you look on it and examine its case. Late 18th Century c. 1780-1800 Item# 130001GHP27 This is a very fine solid mahogany English Chippendale Hanging Antique Corner Cabinet or Cupboard with a Broken-Arch Pediment. Crafted during the last quarter of the 18th Century c. 1780-1800. Of outstanding construction. It features thick planed and carved crown molding along the Broken-Arch, raising the visual plane of the cabinet quite intensely to culminate in a turned finial over a plinth scroll cut of the solid. The sides of the case bevel to soften the edge before joining the wall, these flanking two blind doors. The doors are constructed using a through-tenon mortised frame locking in the inset chamfered panels. Each with shapely notched crests and edged by cockbead molding, both functioning smoothly on ... moreoriginal brass hinges. Inside of the doors, the original hardware remains untouched, the hand forged iron latch on the left door locking the panel in place, the original steel lock on the right door still in place. The interior is four shelves, all but the second-to-top shelf backed by a silk upholstery. The back of the case is entirely dovetail construction. The quarter-sawn oak secondary woods locking into the top and bottom boards without the use of nails or screws. Over the years, this has placed some strain on the back-most corners, as the oak is not thick enough to create an indestructible joint, resulting in some light cracking and looseness where the two boards come together. The cabinet is meant to be mounted using multiple screws through the backboards, coupled with the original hanging tabs at the top of the cabinet on both sides. Tall antique vintage medicine cabinet or spice cupboard with two bottom shelves. Primitive hand made and shabby in vintage original condition. It measures 4 feet tall. And is 16 3/4" wide. It is 5" deep on the top, and 8" deep where the bottom shelves are. There are a few dings and fleck of old paint on it. It could use a light cleaning.dusty. Looks like someone tried to build new inside shelves for the cupboard part. There are two of them, but one is not attached. It has great old lines to it! The possibilities are many with this piece.

Antique Pie Safe/Cupboard with Copper Inserts on Front
This is an antique pie or cupboard with copper fronts. It belonged to my late husband's mother and he brought it home after his mother's death. I love this cupboard. But am moving and cannot take everything. The top wooden piece lays on top of the cabinet. The full width of the piece is 36 inches wide and 25 inches deep. The top cabinet is separate from the base table part. The top cabinet is 3'6" tall and the lower table part is 2'7" from table to bottom of leg for a combined height of 6'1" The cabinet itself is 14" deep and 2'8" wide leaving 2 inches on either side of it for the table base. There are two shelves inside and the middle one needs one or two support pegs to stabilize it. There are only 2 pegs now and only light items can be put on it. The back right leg is loose and should be ... morerepaired or reglued or however carpenters fix these things. But I didn't want to hurt its value so left it as it is. I don't know a lot about this piece except it was old when she bought it and it was in her home for a very long time. I know it was there long before I met my husband 28 years ago.

Antique 18th Century George III Chippendale Linen Cabinet Cupboard c. 1790-1820

Description: This listing is for a Flame Mahogany George III English Chippendale Linen Cabinet in Two Parts. Probably c. 1790-1820. It is a stunning work of art using the choicest of Flamed Mahogany selections to highlight the case. The cabinet is constructed using broad dovetails to lock the case together, bringing the solid mahogany sides together with the pine secondary woods permanently. Along the top, exposed through-dovetails line the edges flanking a rough hand planed surface, nearly black with oxidization. A carved mahogany crown wraps around the top over two large doors, each framed with thin molding scalloped at each corner to highlight simply incredible flamed mahogany veneers. The veneers rest over mahogany secondary ... morewoods, which from the inside can be seen as a single solid board making up each door, solid mahogany framing locking all parts together. The doors swing over original brass hinges with original hand forged screws. The left door originally locked shut with brass catches on the top and bottom of the door frame, but these have since become non-functional- later metal catches were installed on the door at one point, both of which function to secure the door. The right door features the original brass lock, again with all of it's original screws, still functional but with some difficulty operating fully. When you insert the key, which also appears to be original, it will lock the door, but does not extend the full way or retract entirely either- however, it does sufficiently secure the door. The lower chest is a work of art. Using a scalloped molding to complete the frame around the upper portion, the interior with an oak strip that allows the top to slide backwards and allow for a comfortable handhold. This oak strip is photographed below and features all original screws. The chest boasts two small drawers side-by-side over two large graduated drawers. Each features matching

Antique Maple Kitchen Cupboard , Primative Display Cupboard to use or restore
ANTIQUE FURNITURE MAPLE FLAT FRONT CUPBOARD This is a original finish maple cupboard. Painted inside. Two upper doors have glass panels. Lower doors have wood panels, two drawers between the upper and lower doors. This measures 70" tall. 17-1/4" deep, 37-1/2" wide at the top and 36-1/2" wide in center. This one is fairly solid. By the time it gets moved around it may need a joint or two reglued. No major damage to wood. Finish on outside is original varnish. Inside looks like it has been painted a long time ago. The finish has started to dry out and turn dark. Paint on iside will most likely need a clean up or fresh paint. With the finish in the state it is and perhaps needing a little glue I am selling this to restore. This is fairly solid and will not just fall apart on you but with this type of furniture every time ... moreit gets moved you seem to loosen a joint somewhere on it. Old Antique OAK Hoosier Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet Copper Counter Slag Glass Doors
Vintage Hoosier Style Kitchen Cupboard Cabinet w/Copper& Slag Glass Doors This is a gorgeous old kitchen'Hoosier style' cupboard. It has the base. The hutch and a beautiful copper topped counter that does indeed pull out on the base. The top hutch has three doors on the top part with leaded Slag Glass in green and white milk-glass. These appear to have been added to the doors some time ago when this piece appears to have been refinished. The lower part of the upper hutch have two larger wooden doors. The outside of the right door appears to have sustained surface water damage to it some time ago. The bottom base part has one large latching door on the left side that reveals a metal lined storage bin with one wire rack making a shelf in it. The right side has three drawers where the twop two right side drawers are in wood and the ... morebottom right drawer is lined in tin/metal. The counter is simply beautiful. The counter was resurfaced in a solid sheet of copper sometime ago when the entire piece was lightly refinished. The copper counter has a nice protective coat of varnish or poly on it as does the entire piece. The sheen is in a nice soft gloss. Not a shreakingly heavy gloss that makes one put on sunglasses just to look at it. This piece is on metal casters with wood wheels and is easy to move if needed. The drawer pulls appear to be original to the piece. However some of the upper hardware appears to have either been moved during the restoration or have been replaced. All the hardware appears to be correct for the piece, I just can not swear it is all orginal to the piece. The family reports that they just remember this piece being as it has always been so the restoration work done on this piece was done at least more than 40-50 years ago. If I were to keep this for my very own. I would be proud to display it in my own kitchen and show it as my own. Take that for what it is worth. I will gladly entertain reasonable offers. Has been refinished in a golden oak stain with a laqured to coat.It is in excellent condition with no broken or repaired wood. Has a wonderfull grain to the oak. Wavy glass in the top doors. Back appears to be orginial. Top section has 3 shelfs counting bottom, and the bottom section has 2 shelfs counting the bottom. The bottom door wood inserts have a bevel around them. Shelf boards and hinges are the orginial. The drawer handles and the bottom catch may be replacements but match cabinet well. I believe the top section catch is orginial. This very nice little cabinet. It measures 20" W x 12.5" D x 11" H and weighs 15 lbs. It has 3 drawers that measure 17" W x 9.5" D x 1.5" H each. The top space under the lid measures 18" W x 9.5" D x 3" H. The drawers are not dovetailed and the top drawer appears to have been filed down to allow it to slide better. You can see this in the 9th picture. It has a little lock but we don't have the key. On the drawers. The knobs have long screws that stick into the inside of the drawers. You can see this in picture# 9 also. There are two little handles on the side that you can pick ... moreit up by. I have an unusual pressed or stamped. Nickel plated steel lot of 8 old door latches for your consideration. These could be in nice reusable condition with a little cleaning and lube. All the springs seem to be intact and work. A little sticky on a couple. I am uncertain of there age although my guess would have been from a wooden built in cabinet or cupboard door from the late 20's early 30's. They have a deco pattern on handles. Nicely, these appear to have had a flush strikeplate application so you will be able to find something that would work more easily. First of all. Let me just apologize for my photos. We have stored the hutch at my in-laws where he is moving and remodeling is taking place. They aren't the prettiest photos but with all that's going on in that house right now, it's hard to find a good spot to take photos. This little hutch appears to be done in old ... morepine and may also be oak as well. You can see some of the knots showing through on the piece. It's a very heavy. Sturdy piece. Glass doors, crystal knobs and awesome old naturally crackled paint give this so much charm. I'm not sure if the paint is original as I do see some green coming through in one door but I can tell you without a doubt this is old paint. The old bead board backing appears to be oak but I'm not 100% sure. Dates back to the late 1880's-early 1900's. I do not see any major issues with the piece. It is structurally sound. It is in great vintage condition. Note a small area on top where you see some blue paint. I would just take a piece of sand paper to it and lightly sand it. The inside would look great painted white. When I bought this I liked the color of the paint but had intended on painting it white or pink for my shop. When I realized how old the paint was and saw all of that wonderful crackled paint on the sides, I decided not bother. The color is a soft beige yellow tone. Very neutral. This is a wonderful antique primitive jelly cupboard. It appears to be all handmade. It was purchased in Ohio and I was told it originates in Ohio. The bottom base and the top trim were replaced at some point in time. The original mid section appears to be pine. It measures approx. 52 inches WIDE x 62 1/4 inches HIGH x 13 1/2 inches DEEP. The top is flat. There are 4 long shelves inside(I provided a picture of 1/2 of the cupboard opened) I have owned this cupboard for a very long time. Up for Auction Beautiful. Practical, Antique"Linen Cabinet" 1885 I purchased this beautiful antique from a very reputable antique dealer in San Francisco in the 1980's. It's original purpose was to store linens. But I took the top shelf out in order to store and hide my TV. Since the rest of my furniture were antiques this was perfect. Now that I have moved into a smaller house, and TV's are no longer big and thick, I do not have room for this lovely piece. It is way to big for the small rooms in my 1890's home. If my memory is correct. I believe it was made about 1885. I think it is American, but do not know. Everything is original to the best of my knowledge and has never been refinished, at least while I have owned it. I think the wood is pine and stained to look like walnut. It truly is a beautiful piece of furniture ... moreregardless of the kind of wood it is made of. The cabinet is in two pieces, with the top shelf lifting off the drawers. There are the usual signs of wear which give it character and signifies it's use and age. The drawers are tongue and groove and the closing latches made of wood which turn to close the top cupboards. The cabinet is not too heavy so this maybe me a medium density wood. The top of the cabinet has 2 small pieces of wood that have been replaced. There must have been some significant damage at some point that needed to be repaired. Also. There is a very minor repair to the wood where the hinges of the door are attached. It looks as though someone swung the door open too fast and partially popped them at one point. This area has been repaired and is not really that noticeable unless you are looking for it. There is one shelf inside that is thinner and in two pieces. It holds things securely. When we recieved this cupboard 12 years ago it had at least 5 layers of white paint- we sanded most of it to leave a rustic heritage piece. Hand carved doors and drawers with original handles still attached. One of the handles has broken off. But we still have the handle if you wanted to fix it. Top of the cupboard has a split in the wood- we covered it with photos and a cane runner. One leg at the back is missing- but this has not taken away from its functionality. I'm not just being partial but I think this is one of the prettiest hutch/cupboards I've ever seen.and its all because of its gorgeous honey/gold patina and its incredible character. What with the cracks in the wood, the darkened area, the old wavy glass, the rounded feet, the beautiful crown moulding and on and on.
