Super nice solid piece. One piece. Back portion is painted a pewter color. Which I believe is original to the piece. I am not an antiques dealer-solely a collector, so I am not an expert on wood. I am uncertain of this type of wood. It is not painted. Reddish brown tone of wood. The two doors below are smooth wood where other areas of the piece are slightly rougher. Great storage on the bottom. The top part is set back from the rest of the piece-hence the stepback description. The picture of the paint drip is of the color of the pewter"back splash" This is probably not the best term. This color in the pic. looks more yellow/mustard than it is. The paint drip is in the dry sink area. So you don't see it. Height around 55 1/4 inches. Width around 49 inches. Depth around 19 inches(the top. I am selling some really nice antique pieces-with early paint galore! This one included. This is all original blue except for the wood around the top. This was replaced and painted with blue milk paint. The blues don't match exactly as the milk paint is a bit brighter blue than the rest of the piece. It is monochromatic and since it is a primitive piece.this imperfection adds to its charm. The pictures make the difference appear more striking than it really is. Zinc dry sink with hole. This was really used! Finished/painted on the outside with the exception of the back and the bottom of the sides. Two doors for storage underneath. Height around 33 inches. Width around 20 inches. It is triangular and made to hang in the corner by 2 loop hooks. It is constructed from oak wood and has two shelves plus the bottom. The original mirror is bevelled. We're not sure of the age of this cabinet or what kind of wood it is. We're not sure if it's the original paint as there are some lighter yellow drips on the back. It has some chips. But if your tv's base was 13 x 27 or less, it would fit nicely on top. We have a 42" and it looked great on it. Inside are 2 shelves that are about 12" apart. If you took the door off to use as an open bookcase, the opening is 21-1/2" wide x 25-1/2" tall. There is a drawer in this piece also, it measures 3-1/4" deep and if you took the drawer out, that opening is 4" x 21-1/4" wide. I believe the wood to be walnut? It's only flaw is the broken know on the lower right hand door and that could easily be replaced. Certainly made to be played with for some lucky little girl. The secondary wood is pine. It has a porcelain sink and an old pipe down through the cabinet. This probably went into another basin that was emptied once it was full. What is so unique about this item is that it has the seal of the crown with the letters"G.R. below it. From our research on the internet. This is from King George II(Rex) or King Georgius II Rex as he was referred to and thus his initials were"G.R. He reigned from 1727- 1760 and it would make sense that this was from during his reign. It looks like a built in cabinet of some type and due to its size. It seems to be part of the quarters on a ship. It's mahogany and for being as old as it is, it's in great shape! It's ... moregot and old knob and handle for the door below. The stem of the handle is too long so the handle flops about some. We're not sure if this is the original handle or not. The cabinet is all nicely dovetail mortised. Including the bottom(not shown) The lid lifts up to reveal the porcelain sink inside. The sink has a little ding on one side but nothing out of the ordinary for the age. It even has the little brass chain and stopper for the sink basin. The back has flathead old screws in it and a couple of newer replacement screws. The backsplash also has a crack in it which is below the sink and visible only from the back. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age but in comparison to its age it is in GREAT condition. It is made with through tenon construction and a well made piece of furniture. It has a dark finish and paneled doors. This could be used as a cupboard. Extremely RARE Antique Salesman Sample Stepback Cupboard w Minerva Head
A wonderful and extremely rare Victorian Renaissance salesman sample of a Minerva head stepback cupboard. Out of the 1870's. The Minerva head is in the center of the removable crown. It has two glass doors with fancy molding and a unique brass Victorian latch on the right door that has an inside"thumb" latch that turns to hold the door closed, as pictured. The bottom part of the cupboard has two paneled or"blind" doors, with a unique knob and same type latch on the right door, as the top. There is a hook underneath the top shelf that hooks into the eyelet on the inside of the left door. The same type is on the bottom left shelf and door. The hinges on all four doors have a pin that can be removed from the top to remove the doors. The top shelves are removable and have a plate rack on both shelves, as pictured with ... morethe four blue willow plates. There is ornate trim around the front of the doors and all around the sides of the cupboard. The cupboard is made of oak wood except for the back and the shelves, which is made of a secondary wood. The front panels on the door have very nice wood grain. The cupboard is in good antique condition, with normal antique wear. There is staining on the inside and back, as pictured. The backside has some water marks near the bottom. The paper that sealed the back panels have come off through the years. you can see this in the picture that shows the back. This is the original finish and I will leave the patina preference to the buyer. Please view all pictures. There are a couple close splits in the front door panels. There is some scuff marks in the finish, and a few small nicks, also pictured. Please do not expect an antique item to be perfect, as it has been around for many years and shows wear, as pictured. It has wonderful scalloped edges around the front and sides of the bottom. The cupboard stands 37 1/2" from the center of the crown to the bottom. The crown is removable. ANTIQUE FOLK ART RARE STEPBACK CABINET CUPBOARD- YELLOW AND GREEN PAINT- DOORS AND DRAWER Up for sale is this amazing. Antique step back cabinet. This is a rare and wonderful examples of days gone by. The cabinet has two doors, one on top and one on the bottom. Just below the middle part and above the lower door there's a nice dovetailed drawer. The cabinet is yellow and green and there's even a little blue showing through on the drawer. The cabinet was probably all green at one point and was painted over yellow. It's a nice soft butter cream yellow. It's got the old hardware and we even have the key! You can see the key in the pictures and the key only works in the bottom door as the lock on the top door is painted over. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age. The drawer ... morebottom is made from more than one piece of wood and they have separated. There's also a hole worn through on the right side as you can see in the picture of the drawer. It measures 71" H x 12.5" D at the top and 18.5" D at the bottom. It's 25" W. Offered for auction is this very nice circa 1870's-1880'sWalnut Victorian breakfront cupboard. Top of cupboard has a very nice curved crown molding all over two tall glazed doors with a large turned walnut knob and keyhole escutcheon. Inside are adjustable shelves. Below the glazed doors are 3 small drawers with clipped corner rectangular panels with crotch veneer. Not burl veneer. All have turned walnut drawer pulls. This part is removeable from the bottom section. The bottom cupboard base which sticks out 6" from the top has two drawers with 2 each turned walnut drawer pulls, walnut keyhole escutcheons and the same clipped corner rectangular panels with crotch veneer. Single shelf in base. All this is over the cupboard base with two doors with rectangular recessed panels with curved top and bottom stiles. The bottom of the ... morecupboard has a kick board that is sinuously scroll carved. The finish is original and has a very reddish hue to it. A few cracks in the wood on the lower sides of the cupboard base and scrapes and the bottom of the astragal on the right upper door is broken somewhat. All original wavy glazing. On Sep-29-13 at 08:17:01 PDT. Seller added the following information: Additionally. There is a small 1" x 1" notch in the left top back corner of the crown molding. I think it was notched so the breakfront could be pushed against the wall to fit under a ceiling molding many years ago.

Handsome all original corner cupboard. In natural pine with clear finish, not too shiny, just the right amount of distress in the surface finish. The back is original vertical boards and the hardware is original too. There is a bit of loss from wear of the boards in back at the base. Also some loss at the base of the boards in back of the top part. Not visible when the cupboard is in place in a corner. The front looks good.
