I purchased this from a woman in Hanover. Pennsylvania, which is about 30 miles from my location. I am not an expert on pie safes, so I had a local"expert" tell me some things about this piece. He informed me that the base is not original, the mesh on the front has been replaced(frame inside and out where the mesh is, is not original) He also stated that the"paint" is probably milk with some sort of dye, like mustard seed or dandelions. Not sure of the type of wood.probably oak. He also believed ... morethis dated around 1850, due to not having the tin/copper punch front and the nails used. There are some newer nails on the top, where the piece is missing. It looks as if someone used these to refasten the missing piece. The woman from whom I purchased this, could not find the missing piece. Structurally, the piece is decent with some gaps in the wood as seen in the pics. Lots of character, like the mice holes on the front and on the back at the base. It stands almost 4' high, 30" wide and 16.75" deep. The hinges on the door are loose and will need to be tightened. I like to describe what I see"wrong" with items, this way there is no surprises when your purchase arrives. This is a very nice antique piece. Antique Primitive Pine Hanging Corner Cupboard Paint inside VERY UNUSUAL & OLD
Up for bids is this very unusual primitive. True Antique hanging corner cupboard. This corner cupboard is guaranteed to be antique. This cupboard has so much character. I've never seen one quite like it. This is a rather small hanging cupboard. It measures only 21" across the front and 17 1/2" tall. The shelves are 8" deep through the middle from back corner to the front. While this was built to hang on the wall it can also be used sitting on any surface. It sits very evenly and can be used anywhere. This could hold quite a few canned goods but I have shown a few only in the viewing area so you can get an idea of the size. The cupboard shows appropriate wear. Some loss of trim. Some splitting of wood and on the lower right side some loss of the edge. This piece has old irregular nails and rivets. The back corner has a hanging ... morepiece of hardware that is most unusual that is pushed through the back corner but does not show inside the cupboard. Please see the photo.The door has a most unique three panel design and has attractive original hardware.The inside has old paint. The pine wood has great oxidation on the back side. A very large and impressive antique. Circa 1880's, cherry stained maple Chippendale style corner cupboard. It is two piece construction: cupboard with two arched doors having sixteen panels(fifteen with the original wavy glass. The crest is broken arch type with carved flower rosettes on scroll necks, three urn finials on fluted plinths. There is an incised diaperwork to the front above the doors. The interior has an ivory color paint. The cabinet below has a center drawer between two faux front drawers, with brass batwing brass pulls. The two doors below open to a compartment with a shelf. There are two carved scallop shells on the doors. The front has carved claw feet. The interior doors of the cupboard are stained mahogany. The furniture measures 8'7" 103" tall by 4'2" 50" wide by 20" deep, the three ... morecupboard shelves 17-1/4" deep at center. Country Pine 1890 Antique English Hand Crafted Corner Cupboard. This charming country pine corner cabinet from about 1890 originally had no sides or back. It was built into a corner about 1890. About 50 years ago, the back and sides were added to make a free standing cupboard. Knotty pine has deep moldings. There are some shrinkage separations and warps to the doors from age for antique character. The warm honey finish is in extremely fine condition and has been waxed and buffed so only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its glow. This antique furniture from England has carved turn buttons to secure the doors. Dimensions are 55 1/2" across the crown tip to tip. 7' tall and the sides are 26" from the back corner to the front tip of the crown. Antique. Rustic, Chippy, true Antique, Cabinet Cupboard. Large floor cabinet. Thick wood, single drawer with large chunky dovetail joints. Double door cabinet. The drawer and the cabinet at one time had old locks with a key. But were replaced long ago with a large porcelain drawer knob. And a bowtie latch for the cabinet. The only thing I noticed is that the inner shelf in the cabinet might be a replacement, As it looks like newer wood. This true antique also comes with a few worm holes. This large cabinet came with the smaller cabinet stand with the glass door pull. On the bottom of the lower board shelf I found a old stamp from a grocier in Kettering Ontario. I looked and did find information on that grocier in Canada from about the mid- to late 1800's. I do not know how old these cabinets are. At least 130 years. The top part can be removed, the previous owner had glued it down. We took it apart to get it in the van home. It has been used, so there are some minor condition issues such as wear and such. These only help to give the cupboard that unique charm that Primitive is known for! Note the small hole in one of the drawers. See photos. It wouldn't be out of place in a wonderful Prim Country interior, and it sure isn't visible when the doors are closed. The countertop part has some fading and stains, as is to be expected. Again, therein lies the charm of this unique cupboard. The countertop part is firm and level. The cupboard is sturdy.The ceramic knobs are not original. This can be seen in the photos. But the next day the filmy white areas were back on the front of drawers and on one side near the bottom. Structurally sound, just minor surface issues from time and wear. See photos. Wood Cabinet with 3 Lg + 6 Sm Glass Scoops RARE! ~ Primitive LOTS more close-up pictures further below! Wonderful unique primitive Hoosier Cabinet with all those scoops! A RARE Counter or Cupboard Cabinet with the“Hoosier” spice scoops. I am not an expert in this area. But I think this might be called a“German Hoosier Spice Cabinet” The 9 glass drawer scoops were made by the German Company– Heye Schauenstein Company. This company ~ H Heye Glasfabrik Schauenstein is in Schauenstein. Germany. The Herman Heye glass Factory is well known and was started in the 1800s. it is still a major company and operates glass factories in various European countries plus USA. The Heye Schauenstein Company also made items like these to be used in cosmetic firms. Pharmacies, and in laboratories. These individual glass scoops are highly collectible and scarce ... morethemselves. As you probably know, and generally sell for $50 to $100 each. when you can find one! The glass scoops alone are woth probably almost $500. The sturdy primitive cabinet is made of wood– I see no maker marks. It is 19 ½” long x 11 ½” tall and 7 ½” deep. The scoops– 3 large and 6 small are made of heavy thick pressed glass in the shape of a scoop. The Heye Schauenstein Maker mark is on the bottom with the 3 clover leaf design in a circle as well as the company name. The scoops have a dimpled pattern on the sides and have a pull handle on the front. The small ones measure approximately 4 ¾” long x 2 ¾” wide and 2 ½” tall; the large ones measure 7 ¼” long x 4 ½” wide by 4 ¼” tall. I am not sure exactly how old this is- but VERY old- it is an original and has a great patina! Condition ~ in very good condition. The glass scoops are in excellent condition and do not have any cracks or chips or scratches except for one of the small ones had a small chip on one of the top edges– these were well taken care of. ~ The cabinet is not a piece of“fine furniture” it is more primitive– a sturdy working guy! ~ The cabinet has minor normal w

It has a moulded cornice above two cupboard doors with a key and working lock. The doors have raised fielded panels with moulded edges and the interior has the original oak back boards with oak pegs(a hanging rail has been fitted at a later date. The lower section has a moulded edge above three working and three dummy drawers at the top which hide the inside recess.
