Here is a very old antique pie cupboard or china cabinet from probably the early 1800's having belonged either to my great-great-great grandfather or great-great. But it has been in the family for a very long time. It has a primitive look which might interest those collectors. There are two glass doors which shut. A working middle drawer, and two doors below. I will have to take more pictures. The contents are not included. The wood is perhaps walnut or mahogany. It's in really good condition for its age. The knob is solid cast brass with a Victorian wreath cast in the top. The old finish has aged well and there is some brown paint remnants on the latch. What is left has a nice rustic look. Leave it as it is to continue to age naturally or repaint it. Vintage Kitchen Dish Cabinet/ Cupboard 1950's We purchased this lil' antique kitchen cabinet from an elderly lady in the Townsend area of East Tennessee. Just at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, who was going to assisted living and was selling all of the items she couldn't take with her. We asked her when she purchased the piece and she said, the best she"could recollect, in the 50's. The piece has been partially painted. She said in the early 1980's. the front and exterior, but not the interior. After I remarked that it could devalue the piece, she quickly let me know that she"didn't intend to sell it back then and it had gotten dull over the years! And so I painted it. She was 88, feisty and an absolute delight. The pictures show you the difference on the interior and the exterior. So take a good look ... moreand feel free to ask any questions. We've seen several of these cabinets over the years. Most in very rough condition. They were produced in the fifties and sixties and most have not survived. They are highly collectible. This one is the best kept we've seen, structurally, the glass is original and has no scratches or chips or cracks whatsoever.It has obviously been cared for well. And, for the areas she did paint, she did a heckova' good job!even on the lil stylized roses on the front. It stands about 68" high. By 26" wide and about 12" deep. A large double door, chest like, server carved to the max, and a raised top two door cabinet featuring original antique leaded stained glass windows. The carvings are exquisite, as the photos will attest. On top piece there are lion heads on top corners with brass rings in their jaws, below are bearded fantasy men, and right below them are angel heads flying on wings, and strecher is decorated with what is best described fish-scales and shells adorn the sides. Top cabinet is standing on carved backsplash in the back, and supported by two massive newel post like supports. Bottom server/ chest has a drawer over two doors. Turn-of-the-Century Arts and Crafts Three-Peice Sideboard(the trees you see are a reflection in the beautiful beveled mirror) Offered for auction is a solid. Sturdy authentic Arts and Crafts sideboard in original condition from the finish to the hardware. There has been two minor repairs to the piece, the first to the moulding towards the back of the case, which is pictured above; the second, a replacement of the wood backing to the mirror, which you can also see in the pictures. The key does work and is included. Please look at my pictures for a close up view of this antique's beauty and condition. This sideboard breaks down for transport into three pieces. The"backsplash" at the very top has pegs on its underside that drop into apertures on top of the cabinet section to line it up perfectly and securely. The mirrored cabinet ... moresection is also a separate piece and has pegs that are actually narrowed extensions of the turned legs that run from the upper cabinet to the top flat surface of the lower case. These also fit into apertures to line it up and screwing the brackets to the back of the case secures it firmly and safely in place. All in all. This is a beautiful piece of history and is probably English in origin. The detail is magnificent and the characteristics of the quatersawn oak is quite spectacular, even though it can't be recognized or appreciated in the pictures. 1800's Antique PIne Medicine Chest Cabinet Bathroom Cupboard w/Beveled Mirror
I love this 1880s pine medicine chest and hate to give it up! It measures 24” tall x 15” wide x 7” deep. I’ve often wondered if it is a salesman sample of an amoire? Regardless. It’s a perfect for a country style home! The condition is evident in the photos. There are a few tiny blacks spots on the mirror that attests to it being the original beveled glass(can’t see in the photos) The big blotch at the upper right hand corner of the mirror is a reflection in the photo. There is no damage there. It can stand on its own or be hung(the hardware is attached) Because of the size and weight. I will have Fedex Ground pack and ship the piece. And does show nicks, old small chips, worn finish, and if you look at the bottom-back, a couple breaks in the bead-board, few inches at largest, and some chipping along back-bottom edge. Some dark staining inside bootjack legs(see last pix) Mostly, it does LIST to right, as you are facing it. Only a couple/few degrees, but you do notice if you are looking for it. This fabulous large antique 19th century French linen press had duty papers in the bottom showing it had been through Paris as recently as 1976 before eventually ending up in the United Kingdom where my consignors purchased it and imported this lovely piece to Charleston through Edinburgh. Scotland. This large solid wood cabinet appears to be made of mixed woods, including walnut, oak and pine secondary. For auction is a wooden medicine chest. Or small cupboard. This could make a great curio cabinet! It has one shelf. Stands 19 1/2 inches tall, is 12 1/2" wide and 6" deep. The actual shelf width is just under 5" I am not great at identifying wood, but I believe it is walnut. This is an antique step back cupboard from Indiana probably made by the homeowner in the mid 1800's. It's got a very unusual work area that pulls out for more space. See the pictures. Hand crafted with hand tools as the my photos will show. There are no loose joints. The drawers are tight and no wobble. The top sections sits firmly and on the base without fear of tipping. And will set nice and flat against a wall. The cupboard is two sections which measures a total of 79 1/8" inches tall The bottom section measures 35 13/16" inches tall. 19 3/16" deep, and 44 1/8" inches wide. Antique Primitive Pine 4 Door wavy glass Cabinet Hutch Cupboard french country
removed from american foursquare built around 1905. It appears that builder used this original cupboard for parts when house was built. I was in the process of gutting the kitchen and installing new sink and cabinets and kinda discovered the bottom half of the piece had been used for the original sink area. It appears that over the years a number of counters had replaced the original top and bottom half framed in with sheetrock. The top glass cabinet was anchored to the wall and had the original 3 coat plaster around it. I managed to find as much of the original pieces as I could and put the bottom back together with the exception of the top. I used yellow pine salvaged from the house to rip the new top. The top glass portion is 100% original and nothing has been done other than clean and lightly sand the pine to remove old plaster. The piece ... moreis huge, it is 8' 4" long and 7' tall. Top cabinet is 13" deep. Bottom is 23" deep. The weight of the item is around 600 to 800 pounds. All glass appears to be original wavy. Very nice piece for store display or home. buyer pickup or at least an actual review of the piece to insure your 100% satisfaction. This is a great old stepback cabinet from the Appalachia area West Virginia it has a great old patina I think this is the original finish that someone put a coat or 2 of varnish over some years ago! Square nail construction! The hinge pockets for the doors were a lot worn out as often is the case with cabinets of this age! The only way I could secure the doors without changing hinge location was by attaching with long screws the hinges are period appropriate but not original! Some of it continues to flake off. Dark original wood can be seen in places. Appears to be original glass held in place with tacks. Confirmed by Primitive Antique expert to be 1840 American. Due to pigeon holes in upper cabinet. He believes was used as secretary. Spectacular rare piece. Antique Rosewood English Court Cupboard/Sideboard/Buffet/ Mirror Back/Marble Top
We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning antique English cabinet. The maker of this piece is unknown to us. We believe it to be from the late 1800's. A beautiful. Unique and functional piece the attributes of this are numerous. This is made from rosewood and veneer. The gallery top boasts a beautiful marble slab in amazing condition. Above the gallery there is a cabinet with glass doors. The doors have a pretty bell flower with ribbon& bow motif painted on them. This matches the inlaid motif on the base doors. There is an oval shaped beveled mirror between the doors. This has a key for the upper doors and they do lock. Beneath the cabinet doors the backsplash has a larger beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. The upper and lower lock areas all have brass hardware on them. Overall measurements: Height = 76.75" Width = 40.5" Depth = 21 1/8" Top cabinet area: Depth = 10.5" height of top shelf = 8.5" height of bottom shelf = 8 1/8" Bottom cabinet area: Depth = 17" height of top shelf = 11.5" height of bottom shelf = 14" There are age and use appropriate scratches& dings on this.
