ANTIQUE EARLY KING GEORGE II SHIP'S BOAT SINK CUPBOARD/ CABINET/ VANITY* Up for sale is this amazing antique. This very rare item is what appears to be a ship's sink. It has a porcelain sink and an old pipe down through the cabinet. This probably went into another basin that was emptied once it was full. What is so unique about this item is that it has the seal of the crown with the letters"G.R. below it. From our research on the internet. This is from King George II(Rex) or King Georgius II Rex as he was referred to and thus his initials were"G.R. He reigned from 1727- 1760 and it would make sense that this was from during his reign. It looks like a built in cabinet of some type and due to its size. It seems to be part of the quarters on a ship. It's mahogany and for being as old as it is, it's in great shape! It's ... moregot and old knob and handle for the door below. The stem of the handle is too long so the handle flops about some. We're not sure if this is the original handle or not. The cabinet is all nicely dovetail mortised. Including the bottom(not shown) The lid lifts up to reveal the porcelain sink inside. The sink has a little ding on one side but nothing out of the ordinary for the age. It even has the little brass chain and stopper for the sink basin. The back has flathead old screws in it and a couple of newer replacement screws. The backsplash also has a crack in it which is below the sink and visible only from the back. It has worn spots. Edge wear, scratches and nicks as you'd expect from and item of this age but in comparison to its age it is in GREAT condition. These antique cast iron turn buttons are 1- 1/2" long and 3/8" wide. They were used to hold doors closed. Such as those found on dry sinks, jelly cupboards, or primitive cabinets. They were also used to hold things in place such as covers and tools. The black japan finish on these is in good condition, with a little wear, and slight rust where the metal is exposed. We are including 2 period#7 slotted steel screws to attach them. This is an old furniture lock and key set. It is designed to be surface mounted on the back of a cabinet door or drawer front. The mounting area of the lock is 1- 1/4" wide and a little more than 2- 3/8" long. The"bolt" protrudes 11/32" from the lock. The key is 1- 7/8" long. The key will work best with a door or drawer that is 3/4" thick(or less) If the wood is between 3/4" and 1" thick. The decorative detail on the shaft of the key will be hidden. If the wood is more than 1" thick, the lock will have to be recessed in order to work(or you will have to find a longer key) There is some rust on this set. But it works well. The section above the writing surface has two doors which slide open, expose a simple cubbyhole section, and can be locked with the original lockset and key. The three small drawers are all hand dovetailed and the secondary wood is pine. All of the wooden knobs are original on all of the drawers. You are considering an antique. Grain-painted, primitive press. I have bought and sold many great pieces throught the years, and this press/wardrobe is at the top of the list. I believe it to be constructed by a very skilled furniture builder somewhere in the 1820s to 1840s. The press was built in three pieces. The base fits together with pegs attached to the original bun feet. The body was constructed with thin dovetail joints, and the center post was attached to the top and bottom of the cabinet with mortise joints. The doors are grain-painted. The door knobs have been replaced fairly recently. I may be able to located knobs closer to the period. The back of the cabinet was hand-planed unlike most. I believe there was originally three interior drawers. Sometime sixty or seventy years ago, the top drawer was replaced with two more swhallow ... moredrawers. The top is mortised to the cabinet, but is removable. I believed the top board to have been added many,many years ago, but it was not a part of the cupboard when it was originally constructed. The grain-painted mustard finished is just great. I will not ship this press. I may deliver it a short distance for a fee. You can arrange and pay for your Uship shipper to pick the piece up from me. This is quite an ornate Solid Brass casting. The lock/latch is 4" tip to tip x 2" wide x 1/2" thick at lock Body. You lift the door-knocker-style Handle to lift the latch; the handle is 2 1/8th" x 1 3/4" The hinge is just as ornate as the lock/latch. On the back of the hinge there is a mark'1769' Both lock/latch& hinge have the remains of old blue paint. Both are original 19th century& are matching. Bought at an Estate Tag Sale in the Late 1970s by Traverse City. MI, we have been hanging on to these hoping to find a matching hinge. no breaks or cracks. Moves as it should, solid& sturdy. It has 2 glass doors over doors with another set of doors on the bottom. Hand dovetail work and mortise and pegs work all over the cabinet. All wood and really a great item for the price. Old corner cabinet/cupboard from 1800's Vermont. Distressed painted wood. Two parts stack nicely. But are shown here with top mounted on wall brackets. The height of the base with the riser/backsplash thingy is 41-3/4" while he horizontal top surface of the base is 37" above the floor. The base projects about 24" out from the corner to the front or about 30-1/2" along the walls. The top piece is 38" in height and projects about 20-1/2" from the corner to the front or about 24" along the walls. So when stacked the pieces are about 80" high.

Offered is a 19th century. Antique, hanging corner cabinet with the original, milk based, mustard paint. It measures 44" tall x 30" across x 14" deep. The back sides measure 22" across. The glass looks all original and is plastered in. It's truly a wonderful example of South Central, Amish Country, grain painted primitives. It dates around mid century, is square nailed, all original, and weighs approximately 120 lbs. Local Pickup.
