The wooden trim has birds carved into it, flowers, violins. Truly beautiful. The velvet is original, in excellent condition and the paint used on the wooden trim is original. There are scuffs on the trim, and the rear of the sofa shows a color difference in the trim. This trim may also be repainted any color you would like, such as gold, brown for a wooden look, If you choose to do so. Very good overall condition, This elegant oak monks chair was crafted in England around 1900. Which places it at the close of the Victorian period and the beginning of the Edwardian period. The oak remains very beautiful, with a lovely patina and a distinct grain. Intricate carvings adorn the front, while the armrests feature turned columns. The most unique feature of this chair is the folding backrest, which drops down and slides forward to make this chair into a two-tiered side table. The seat also opens to reveal a small storage space, making this chair as useful as it is charming. The right armrest has developed a small separation in the wood, which is part of the natural aging process, and there are a few scuffs characteristic of an antique piece, but otherwise this chair remains quite attractive and sturdy. Overall condition is therefore very good. The sides look great. Shown here is the other side. Shown here is the back. The seat opens to reveal a convenient storage space. The oak displays a distinct grain. This seat remains as sturdy as it is elegant. With intricate carvings along the front. Set of four antique Victorian walnut-frame side chairs with wool needle point seats. Each chair has a different floral seat design on either a maroon or ivory background. Needlepoint may be more recent. Seat coverings attached with aged brass tacks. Inner springs in seat in great shape. Top rail carved with roses. Scroll work on lower rail. Very old-early 1900's and none match as each was a hand made work of art. 5 have backs. The 6th is either missing the back or was a stool. Very thick silver paint on them. Elaborately Carved Crest Item# 120011OPP10B This is a wonderful pair of antique french fauteuil arm chairs of noteworthy proportions. They are both truly statement pieces. The crests a complex and precise work of art of floral influence, flowing into a plain molded frame around a raised upholstered backing. The two outward scrolling arms have thick stuffed upholstery along the top, these flanking a very deeply sprung upholstered seat. The springs and webbing are firm, the upholstery in overall very good shape(chair two with two areas of note worthy wear, the loose threads showing through in those two areas- no stains) these are incredibly comfortable chairs. They rest over two cabriole front legs ... moreof acanthus carved form. The underside of the seat is unfinished, revealing the pegged tenon-mortise construction and an illegible label beneath the midmost point of the apron. This is an outstanding pair of chairs for any decorator looking to bring life to a formal sitting room- they should be part of a home where care will be shown. As the arms are weak where they join the back. These are fully functional and visually wonderful pair of substance, a pair that will certainly be enjoyed for a lifetime. The chairs are made of solid fruitwood, with an interesting burlwood veneer at the upper back splats. They have ebonized wood features just below the burlwood. The chairs measure 35" tall, 18" deep. and 17" wide. They currently have pink upholstery, one of which has a small area of wear(as shown) The chairs are in very good condition overall. And I have taken pictures of most portions of each chair. There is minor wear to the veneer throughout, but nothing major or off-putting. Pair Of Antique Victorian Louis XV Carved Walnut / Mahogany French Chairs
Both chairs are in nice shape for their age. They are upholstered in what feels like a silk like material and the bones are still strong and not wobbly. Wood has nicely detailed carvings throughout. I'm not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. But you can zoom in with the pictures and see for yourself. Nail studded trim work throughout the entire piece, even under the seat cushion. The upholstery may need a little minor cleaning on the arms, and there is minor wear on the wood, but since the chairs are obviously carved the minor wear gives them character and really goes unnoticed when looking at them overall. This set is from the early 1900's. It was purchased by the current owner in the early 1960's. There is a picture. Which will be included of the original owner) The furniture pieces are a breakfront. Which is dust proof that stands 80" tall(6' 8" It is 54" long and 13" by 11 1/2" on the top and the bottom measures 14 1/2" by 11 1/2" As you can see by the pictures. The first drawer doubles as a writing desk that can be locked. Although there are no keys available. The drawers are dovetailed. The drawer pulls are brass with a fruit theme. The owner said that just a bit of lemon oil helps them darken up. The glass on the doors is laid into the wood cut outs. This item weighes about 300 pounds per the owner. That was made to sit on the top of this lovely item. This item was also fashioned to be dust proof. Now to the table. It is 66 1/4" long. Without the leaves& 44 1/4" wide and stands 2' 6" Including the depth of the glass. The table is in very good pre-owned condition. There is a piece of cut glass to fit on top. For sale I have an antique table and chairs set. The set includes one table and 3 chairs. The chairs have a club design in the back and they are stamped C2377 Essex. Very nice solid wood. A unique and rare old set. Cosmetically it is in good condition with some scratches and light wear. The table measures about 40 x 30 x 29 inches and each chair measures 16 x 16 x 34 inches. Unfortunately it is too big and bulky for me to ship so it is being offered FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY. The best I can do is help you carry it to your vehicle or have it ready on a loading dock.
