Aristocrats of Folding Furniture, Stakmore Co Inc. New York, Pat June 23. 1925 The chairs are in good overall condition. All have nicks and scuffs. But nothing significant. The only major blemish is one of the leather seats has a 1" tear, see photo. All nuts, bolts, screws, braces, tacks, leather, and wood are original. Pair of European Antique Chairs Hand Made/Pegged
Another fabulous find that we are pleased to offer to the market. This is a pair of antique European chairs that are at least 150 years old or older. These are all original and not reproductions. The detail and skilled craftmanship of these chairs is absolutely amazing. Each chair stands approximately 24.5" high. They have an approximate width of 19.5" and a depth of 16" The height of the seat on these is 19" These are all hand made with fabulous carve lines. There are tiny flowers carved into the top centers and grooves carved into the legs. The backs have a fabulous ribbon candy design. All of the joints on these are pegged and some of them are double pegged. I am unsure as to what kind of wood these are made from but they are a very heavy chair. There are no loose joints on these. I do not know if the fabric is original ... moreto these or not. There is fading and yellowing of the fabric. These are in incredible condition for the age. There are some separations of the wood. Mainly on the back. They have age appropriate signs of wear and use to the finish with a lovely patina. These are a previously owned item and they are being sold as shown. Two identical chairs. Persian intricate inlaid work of Mother of Pearl and Ivory were purchased from an antique shop in the Big Bazaar near Lalezar Nov in Tehran Iran in 1940. My parents bought the chairs and they were told at the time that the chairs were quite old. We cannot testify to them being Persian. Perhaps Lebanese or Syrian. They are in superb condition as the photos verify. They are 21 1/2 inches left to right. 20 inches front to back and 32 inches high. They can be picked up in Beverly Hills or Van Nuys California. Set of 6 Antique side chairs - hand caned in Stone Mountain GA, USA
This is a set of 6 matching hand-caned side chairs with beautiful detailed carving. The caning was done in Stone Mountain. Georgia. We don't know the age or history of the chairs beyond this as we came to own them via the purchase of property where they were left behind. Measurements: Seat is 16" deep x 17" wide Seat is 17" high off the floor Back of chair is 32" high The condition is good. They are all structurally sound but delicate due to the age. Two of the chairs have very small holes in the caning. See that detail in the last two pictures. We bought this very nice dining table and chairs at a antique furniture store in Southport. England(about 7-8 yrs ago) when we lived there. It is a very nice solid wood table. May be Mahogany or Walnut not sure(it has a dark stain with a hint of red in it) The Cabriole legs are ornate with ball and claw feet. Carvings of(acanthus) leaves and flowers. The chairs are padded(removable) and have a tan flowered material on them. Chippendale style. The top of the table comes unscrewed from the base. Our family has outgrown the table for 4 and we are now selling it. It has had one of the chair backs broken, but it has been repaired. It has a few dents in the table top wood(no stain missing though) But overall is in beautiful shape. Sorry we do not know more about it. Overall construction is solid on 4 swivel whiskey barrel chairs. Table base and reversible(poker) table top. All chairs swivel and have parts of the word Bonded or other words branded on the back of every chair(see pic) Each chair is made of leather and is missing a few seat buttons. The blue chair(pictured) is in the best condition. The flat side of the table does have a couple water stains as pictured. The poker table side has the original green material(I believe a well-worn suede) in the center of the table and at the round drink holders underneath the red felt circles(added later) The table is 48" across and is octagonal. They date from late 1800's to early 1900's. They have been reupholstered in a tapestry material. Chairs are in very good sturdy condition. One chair has a tiny piece of wood missing at a joint as shown in photos. Finish appears to be original with two chairs having some minor areas where the finish has lifted in a spotty pattern as shown in the photos. But this does not detract from the beauty of the chairs. Chairs are 36 in. high overall. Seat is 18 in. high, 18 in. wide and 17 1/2 in. deep. Weight is 15 lbs each chair. You are purchasing a wonderful pair of Antique French Carved Cane back chairs. Louis XVI style which I was told they were made by Ethan Allen out of a wonderful estate. They are very clean and in wonderful condition for age. There will be some areas of wear such as light scratches, dings, marks, etc which come with age and normal use. This definatly gives them character and does not take away from their beauty. There is one area on the back of 1 chair that the cane is broke. Listing this evening a nice set of Oak Pressed Back(pressback) chairs in made in the great old USA. These are great looking copies of early 1900's pressbacks. They blend in nicely with originals. The chairs are 39 1/2" tall with a seat height of 18" They are 18" across the front of the seat and have a 17 1/4" seat depth. There are no breaks in the wood and the chairs are solid as a rock. There is slight chipping on the top of one chair(pic#4) and some staining(maybe from alcohol) on the seat of the other chair. With pads on the seats you can't even see the staining on that seat. The finish is a medium oak. The chairs have been thoroughly cleaned and polished with wax. These are excellent quality chairs as far as copies go. The stretchers. Pressing(quite deep) and all carvings are very well done. You can own a pair ... moreof these for less than half the cost of vintage chairs. Great curves all around, pierced carved window panels inserted on all sides, spindle finials, the works! Entire piece is covered with thick inlaid pieces of Mother of Pearl. Made in Morocco, brought to US after WW1. The condition of the chairs is good, no breaks, structuraly sound, it shows on the underside that they were reinforced for stability in last 20(or so) years. Antique 1929 Cherry Wood Dining Set Table Chairs Buffet Hutch vintage 9 Piece !!
I am the 2nd owner of this nice vintage dining room set-I bought it from the estate of a lady that purchased it new in 1929. Original tags still attached-reads-made by Bernhardt Furniture Co. Lenoir, North Carolina-the underside of the table is also stamped: Oval Table-Cherry-29-etc. Made of Cherry wood-medium, chestnut brown stain allows for much of the grain in the wood to show. Set consisted of table with removable center piece-5 regular chairs and one captain's chair with arms-hutch and buffet. I bought these 20 years ago and now am getting different furniture. I had the seats professionally reupholstered long ago to match my decor(olive green/goldish print)I have always kept seat pads on the chairs when in use-so the seats are in great condition. Table measures 58" x 40" x 30 1/2" tall-with an additional center piece ... morethat measures 12" wide. The Hutch is 47" x 15" x 70" tall. The Buffet is 57" x 17 1/2" x 30 1/3" tall. Overall very nice condition-normal wear for being 84 years old. Some things I would mention are that the wood color of the center piece section is darker than the rest of the table, it was like that when I bought it-possible meant for contrast or maybe because it was stored out of the light)also a slice of the corner wood has broken off as can be seen the the picture-back rt corner of section. Also-a bit of wood had chipped off the top corner of the table leg(tiny but I mention it to be exact-not seen from the top) The legs screw off with attachment bolts to remove them for storage. Also, one chair missing a decorative wood curve on front leg-shown in pic. Also- scratch on table top-6" and 1 1/2"shown in last pic-could be buffed/polished-I leave that to the new owner-totally useable as is. If I missed something-please ask. The color of the hutch in the first pic is the true color-rich and beautiful. Antique Primitive Birthing Chairs
Up for your consideration is a pair of unique primitive birthing chairs. These chairs were used in the 19th and early 20th century for women to sit in while giving birth. Designed to completely disassemble to make it easy for midwives to carry. This particular design. From research, looks to be more on the spanish side, possibly made in Spain, but I cannot verify that. I have also seen them from Germany and England. They have a clover design for handles on the back and on each side of the seat. They stand 31" tall from the floor to the top of the back, 16" from floor to seat and the seat itself is 19" wide 5" deep and 1 1/4" thick. There are a couple minor scrapes between the two, but minor, also the back is a little loose on one of them, but could be repaired easily, if you wanted to actually use them, if not, it ... moreis not loose enough to worry about. Seat widths vary from 14" to 16" and seat heights are all roughly 18" All have wonderfully rich, matching patinas consistent with chairs from the early to mid 19th century. Nice set of 6 Original tiger oak press back dining/kitchen chairs. Hard to find a complete set of 6 in such nice condition. The cane seats have been covered over in wood. And upholstered in leopard fabric. the cane is there, but worn on most of the chairs, so we made it more secure and comfy by upholstering the seats. Height overall is 39" seat height is approx. 18" Width of back of chair at widest is 21" a great matching set. A Pair: Small Antique/Vintage Child's Pre-School Chairs by American Seating Co.
A really cute little pair of Pre-School Kinder-chairs. They are in definite need of restoration. But should be saved as is. The back slats have the American Chair Company imprint in very legible condition. One of the chairs has worn paint on it which needs to be stripped. The other chair has a fair amount of de-lamination of the plywood on all 3 wood pieces. I have very effectively reclaimed this type of damage using fiberglass resin. It fills the void.
