The original furniture label identifies it as"Maple& Beech" see photo#5) 18" deep X 14" wide X 28" high. Has two open shelves and one small drawer that opens easily and smoothly. The drawer has dovetailed construction and a cool-looking metal pull. The interior sides and bottom of the drawer are a different type of wood than the rest of the piece- see last picture. This is a solid durable piece of furniture in excellent vintage condition. The wood has normal color variations and small flaws typical of a vintage piece. There are a few small dark drips on one side- as shown in second photo- which could be removed with light sanding or scraping if they will be visible when the piece is in use. ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE TOOL CHEST WATCHMAKER'S/ JEWELRY CABINET/ CUPBOARD ORIGINAL RED PAINT Up for sale is this nice watchmaker's cabinet with a flip top hinged lid. 3 drawers, porcelain knobs and original red paint. This very nice little cabinet. It measures 20" W x 12.5" D x 11" H and weighs 15 lbs. It has 3 drawers that measure 17" W x 9.5" D x 1.5" H each. The top space under the lid measures 18" W x 9.5" D x 3" H. The drawers are not dovetailed and the top drawer appears to have been filed down to allow it to slide better. You can see this in the 9th picture. It has a little lock but we don't have the key. On the drawers. The knobs have long screws that stick into the inside of the drawers. You can see this in picture# 9 also. There are two little handles on the side that you can pick ... moreit up by. The bottom drawer has a couple of holes in the middle of it from a previous location of a handle. It's a nice red color and it's hard to take a good picture of it. As you'd expect. There are other scratches, nicks, and slight discolorations as you can see in the pictures. It's a very nice cabinet and would make a nice addition to your collection. I have an unusual pressed or stamped. Nickel plated steel lot of 8 old door latches for your consideration. These could be in nice reusable condition with a little cleaning and lube. All the springs seem to be intact and work. A little sticky on a couple. I am uncertain of there age although my guess would have been from a wooden built in cabinet or cupboard door from the late 20's early 30's. They have a deco pattern on handles. Nicely, these appear to have had a flush strikeplate application so you will be able to find something that would work more easily. Might be a nice addition for a reworked piece of furniture or cabinet/cupboard door. measure 1 7/16 inches from ctr to ctr of mounting screw holes. Each measures 26.25 inches wide by 34.25 tall. They are one inch thick. The glass only measures approx. 20.25 by 28.5. Your bid buys both. Overall they are in good condition. Beautiful 19th Century Beveled Glass Antique Oak Smoking Cabinet Up for auction is a b eautiful turn-of-the-century English smoking cabinet. This table-top model(or for your shelf) is made of honey finish quarter sawn oak. It features a beveled glass door. Interior drawers with all brass fixtures: fancy drawer pulls, hinges, lock cover and tobacco scoops. There is also a pipe rack; high along the rear wall which will hold seven of your finest pipes. The interior shelf holds a Rockingham glazed porcelain tobacco jar with its matching lid. The brass scoops and porcelain jar rest on antique velvet covered indents for them. There are letters, a name or number stamped on the drawer frame front, matching the bottom of the cabinet, but I cannot make it out. There is no key. The cabinet measures approximately 17-3/8 inches in overall height; 8 inches ... moredeep, 11-1/2 inches wide including baseboard. Antique Cast Brass Cabinet Door Lock~Patent Date June 29 1897~Marked "R" "271"
It’s hard to believe this beautiful antique cabinet door lock is over 100 years old! The back plate is stamped with the Patent date of June 29. 1897. I gave it a good cleaning and the jewel I found underneath is just wonderful. The brass shines as if it was cast just yesterday and the hinge works as it should, lifting enough to move the latch bar on the side. I do not have the key, however, it should not be difficult to have one made. It measures 4” tall, 2 1/8” wide and has a ¾” bar off of the side. Detailed condition can be seen in the pictures. It measures 98" 8 ft 2 in) tall, 60" 5 ft) wide and 22" deep(249 cm by 152 cm by 56 cm) It features extensive and massive bronze mounts throughout which bear the stamped mark"KAHN" the mark of the studio of E. Kahn& Cie in Paris. Kahn was a leading cabinet maker and bronzier who worked in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, according to Sotheby's. The pediment has neoclassical guilloche, reed and tie, and foliate motifs. The frieze and side panels feature patera, rosettes, and egg and dart motifs. The center door has putti and swags, lion mask, and lower panel with classical mask, arrow and drapery, and foliate ... moremotifs. The sides feature floral and geometric parquetry inlay and marquetry inlay depicting flaming torches, surrounded by bronze mounts with foliate and tied ribbon motifs. The cabinet rests upon four enormous animal claw and ball feet. Each side cabinet and center cabinet have adjustable notched selving with two shelves each. Overall condition is very good. There is some crackling to the parquetry noticeable on the sides, and scrapes and small chips here and there near the base. It is a truly exceptional example of Meiji period craftsmanship. With museum-quality inlaid brass, ivory and mother-of-pearl in the Shibayama manner, depicting figural and bird scenes on a gold lacquered ground.
