Lenoir, North Carolina-the underside of the table is also stamped: Oval Table-Cherry-29-etc. Made of Cherry wood-medium, chestnut brown stain allows for much of the grain in the wood to show. Set consisted of table with removable center piece-5 regular chairs and one captain's chair with arms-hutch and buffet. I bought these 20 years ago and now am getting different furniture. I had the seats professionally reupholstered long ago to match my decor(olive green/goldish print)I have always kept seat pads on the chairs when in use-so the seats are in great condition. Table measures 58" x 40" x 30 1/2" tall-with an additional center piece that measures 12" wide. The Hutch is 47" x 15" x 70" tall. The Buffet is 57" x 17 1/2" x 30 1/3" tall. Overall very nice condition-normal wear for being 84 years old. Some things I would mention are that the wood color of the center piece section is darker than the rest of the table, it was like that when I bought it-possible meant for contrast or maybe because it was stored out of the light)also a slice of the corner wood has broken off as can be seen the the picture-back rt corner of section. Also-a bit of wood had chipped off the top corner of the table leg(tiny but I mention it to be exact-not seen from the top) The legs screw off with attachment bolts to remove them for storage. Also, one chair missing a decorative wood curve on front leg-shown in pic. Also- scratch on table top-6" and 1 1/2"shown in last pic. If I missed something-please ask. The color of the hutch in the first pic is the true color-rich and beautiful. There are a couple others.but they are pretty faint and hard to see unless really looking. I tried getting a pic of them. I think can be removed. But I am no expert. I just love old linens. Antique cabinet' Gorgeous antique wooden cupboard. Very old possibly late 1800's early 1900's. Beautiful wood- not sure what it is though- Oak? When we recieved this cupboard 12 years ago it had at least 5 layers of white paint- we sanded most of it to leave a rustic heritage piece. Hand carved doors and drawers with original handles still attached. One of the handles has broken off. But we still have the handle if you wanted to fix it. Top of the cupboard has a split in the wood- we covered it with photos and a cane runner. One leg at the back is missing- but this has not taken away from its functionality. Thibouville Buffet Antique 5-key Piccolo in Db Super Cute Wood New Pads c.1800s
This piccolo is such a cutie! The wood has no cracks which is surprising for being over 100 years old! It's in the key of Db and plays pretty loudly. The headjoint tenon is slightly loose(which can be expanded or temporarily fixed with a piece of tape) The head cork hasn't been altered and the body cork/string on the tenon should be replaced with new. The pads were just replaced with yellow pressed felt piccolo pads to ensure playability and help determine the key. You could play the piccolo as-is or put a little more work into it and have it in tip-top shape! I believe the crown was altered due to the size but haven't tried taking it out. Unsure of the wood, looks like rosewood or similar, and all of the metal on the instrument is nickel-silver in excellent shape! All of the flat springs are intact and work properly. OLDER ANTIQUE BUFFET WOOD CLARINET. Late 1800's we think. At the bottom of the lower tenon. It might possibly read"1L- and then the number is rubbed out. It really looks like a"1" as the first prefix, and then the rest is almost all rubbed out. This could put it anywhere from about 1891-1898. You can see the Buffet logo(Buffet"Paris" on both tenons, but NOT on the barrel or the bell. The barrel measures(on our set of calipers) the same bore size as the upper tenon(89.5 to 90) so it may be original; it also has very similar color and texture. Not sure about the bell, however. Also the bell has a line of smoothed over nicks across it. The upper tenon has been pinned near the top, right above the wrap around octave key; check the one picture out for this. This clarinet does play well. It has been serviced by a professional ... morerepairman and Completely repadded by us with all new pads-white. Corks and felts. This is a genuine Gillows of Lancaster oak server buffet. It has the Gillows Lancaster stamp on the left side base support. This stamp was used approx 1820-1840. Gillows furniture is considered to be some of the finest furniture ever made. Robert Gillow was considered a fine furniture maker and as prestigious as Sheraton. Hepplewhite and Chippendale. This is a wonderful example of the firms work. The server measures 47 inches wide. It is 37 inches tall at the second shelf and 39 3/4 inches high at the back top decorative rail. Demilune or half-round shaped. This beautiful console table is signed by famous maker, Berkey and Gay. Useful in a hall, dining room or foyer, the top has a sunburst pattern in walnut burl, accented with curly elm burl and ebony banding. Classical hand-painted motifs are original. Actually a graceful ellipse or"eyebrow" shape. There is a carved finial in the trestle base. The center carved panel is a drawer front with dovetailed joinery and a removable caddy. Solid walnut. This listing is for the beautiful antique Victorian golden oak sidebar/buffet/china cabinet one piece unit with 7 drawer s that I have pictured for you. We have used it in our home for many years as an entertainment center and bookshelves/doll display area. The drawers have been used to store DVDs. VHS tapes, books, DVD player, as well as other things. The unit is 79 inches wide at the top. The end panels extend out from the wall 17 inches. The shelf where the TV is placed is 23 inches wide and it bows out in the center(pictured for you) The TV pic tur ed is a 32 inch flat screen and allows for the opening of both bookcase doors. There are 4 applied trim pieces formed of plaster along the top of the unit and I have pictured each one for you so you can see where there is damage to 3 of them. The pulls on the drawers are original to the piece ... moreas are the two latches to the doors of the bookcases. The bookcase doors are each 50" high by 16 1/2" wide. Both bookcase doors have the original wavy glass. The back of both bookcase sections is wains cote oak as is the inside piece of each bookcase. kAs pictured. There are two shelves in each bookcase; there are two additional shelves stored in the bottom center drawer of the unit. Dimensions of the drawers follows: two are 11" by 17" three are 24 1/2" by 17" and two are 16 1/2" by 13 1/4" The bevel edge mirror is in an area 24 1/2" wide. There are small holes drilled at the back of this area to allow the wiring for the TV and the DVD player and the USB cord for the TV to be brought in from the backside. The center section shelf extends outward from the base display case 5 inches at each sides and approximately 7 inches in the center(due to the bowed design) The piece is very heavy and will require 2 men to remove it from our residence after the drawers and glass doors are removed from the unit. What I have here is an outstanding Empire style tiger oak sideboard/ buffet circa 1900 with a tag from Picture Rocks. PA. The tag(photo shown) indicates the Burrows Bros. Co. Ltd. as the manufacturer. A fellow named Amos Burrows started the furniture co. in Lycoming County. Pennsylvania in 1856 and the enterprise was sold in 1939. This one is from the Burrow's Brothers unique"Roller Guide Line. Two tiny wooden wheels hold each drawer in place and enable smooth gliding back and forth. Some information on the manufacturer's history can be found on the internet at usgennet.org/usa/pa/county/lycoming/history/Chapter-31.html There are Claw feet in the front and straight legs in the back. All legs have the original wooden rollers for easily moving this piece around. The overall dimensions are 48" W x 22 1/2" D x 61 1/2" ... moreH. The height to the first level is 39" The height to the second level is 56 1/2" The two levels are connected by columns. The mirror is the original beveled mirror with the dimensions 37"W x 13"H. It has 2 drawers on top that are each 20 1/2" long. There is 1 long drawer in the middle of the piece that is 42" long. At the botto m are 2 doors w/ post in-between. There is a large open storage area behind these doors. The drawers and doors have beautiful decorative brass knobs as pulls(photo shown) Some minor imperfections- as shown in pictures- are: varnish spot(top left side) slight warpage of veneer in one spot(top right ride) and two spots of discoloration in mirror The 2 drawers on top. The long drawer in the middle, and the two bottom doors, all have keyholes for locking, but no key. Overall condition is very good. Considering its age. We've really cared for this piece. These items all come from the estate of a man who had a large collection of very fine sterling. Some of it dating back into the 1800's. This auction is for a beautiful pair of buffet/serving tongs. I am not positive that they are sterling silver. But I did not want to scratch them to test for the silver content. On the inside is stamped"WH&S" with 3 additional hallmarks. ANTIQUE LARGE OAK BUFFET W. 5 GLASS DOORS AND BRASS FITTINGS
I am offering an antique(most probably late 1875-1900-ish) buffet-cupboard. You name it the way you want. It is 100% oak. Has five(5) diamond shaped clear glass doors with oak frame, brass hinges, working locks and knobs. Has 4 or 5 keys(will check and confirm) Each section is partitioned and has 3 oak adjustable shelves. I know it is built with square blacksmith nails as some of these are leftover from my reconstruction of the back of the buffet(see below) The top was probably covered with linoleum tiles that were removed. It has not been repaired. Except the back of the buffet made in tongue and grove oak planks had been dismantled. When I reassembled it. They did not fit exactly where they should have gone and over the lenght of the buffet. It ha s shrunk by about 3/4 of an inch to one inch(0n the right looking at the back) The leftmost ... moreglass door was professionally redone as it was warped so much I was afraid some of the glass parts would fall off. It was repaired by a stained-glass repair shop. With new piping, and some(2-3) parts replaced. Otherwise, it has been left as is. The other doors have been left as is, and should be reworked to fix the"waviness" in the glass panels. It is a large buffet. 108 inches(9ft) long, 60 inches(5ft) high and 24 inches(2ft) deep(approximative measures) It may weight around 175-200 pounds or more. This is a large. Heavy and bulky item.
