What's so cool about this ... morewardrobe trunk is that it has features that so many of the other wardrobes you see don't have or they're missing! Also. It was restored approximately 20 years ago and is still in good condition. You may want to repaint or reline the trunk to make it your own, but you don't have to worry about a bunch of repairs because they were already done. For example, the metal trim was not brass and so it was painted. It could easily be repainted to suit your needs. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing board, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it safe for travel. There is a cornice that comes with it but is not pictured and it needs to be reattched. It measures 91" x 54" and has 3 shelves inside. There are a couple pieces that are missing at the inside top as seen in the pictures but I do believe I have them. This is a very early piece. Condition: Used Location: Brewer, United States A ca. 1850 linen press of Montreal origin. It is of cherry with pine secondary wood. The drawer fronts are natural and the case has an old crazed dark ... morebrown finish. The three lower drawers have false keyholes with inlay. All of the hardware is original to the piece (iron hinges and porcelain drawer pulls). It is one piece and stands 80” tall, 54 & 1/2” wide and 22” deep. It is of square nailed construction. We've owned and used it for 30 years and I can attest that it holds a lot. I haven't done a thing to it since I've owned it other than used it for its intended purpose. The upper door panels are split and the back legs are thin but other than that it shows only typical wear from use. It appears to be completely original and will give many, many more years of service. Pick up only.
