UP FOR BID IS AN ANTIQUE DRESSER HALF DOLL PIN CUSHION DOLL. This doll measures 6 3/4" high X 5 1/2" at the bottom circle. Her hair is a soft brown mohair fixed very nice and she has a beautiful painted face. The bottom skirt area is tan with a bottom circle of covered cardboard and it is all in great condition with no damage. It seems to be stuffed with straw. I checked a doll book and it says she is bisque. There are similar ones also listed on e-bay that say bisque, I was told she is porcelain so I am unsure. Antique Marble Top Dresser
This dresser has been in our family since at least the early 1900's. It is stamped Peter Canaris Furniture of Jersey City. NJ. The marble top measures 19" x 42" It is 33" high, not including the glove boxes. The two glove boxes measure 11" x 11" at the base and are 2.5" high. The fabric drawer liners were made by my grandmother and have some stains. The wood finish and the marble top are in good condition. We are downsizing and must part with some of family treasures.

The front of the chest has beautiful incised carvings on the drawers and wood escutcheons. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor. You are bidding on a hotel washstand that has been completely restored by a professional refinisher. It is in more or less perfect condition now. It is finished in a medium oak color with minwax provential stain. Finished with several coats of Sherwin Williams sand& sealer and two coats of Sherwin Williams top coat water proof lacquer. The entire piece of furniture has been sprayed and sealed good, including drawer bottoms, back and bottom of the piece. The solid brass has been cleaned and lightly polished with jewelers rough. The finish is hand-rubbed and it looks like it has just be waxed. The bevel mirror is original, has some distortation because of age. The towel bar including the bar itself is all original. The base comes apart from the towel bar and mirror for easy transport. As you can see the back looks just about as good as ... morethe front. antique r j horner french mahogany twin bed set with high boy dresser the best
someone has been bugging me to list this twin bed set for 3 or 4 years so i consented to do so the other day when he called. doubtful he will buy them. But they are offered for sale at this time. this is what is known as a show stopper. i have been piddling with antiques for nearly 50 years and have never seen or owned a better twin bed set. here we have an r j horner twin bed set created by horner in his french style. they are of course mahogany with the finest grain you will ever find on a furniture piece of mahogany. the beds are thick, that is the head and foot board. they have wonderful form and beauty and are as you can see carved to death. the high boy as you also see matches the beds. the high boy is just the very best and will take your breath away. it is serpentine in the front as well as the sides. the beds have high dollar box ... moresprings and mattress. they do not go with the set, but i would sell them at a very discounted price. i have about 1000 each in the box springs and mattress including the comforter set. i would sell them for 300 each if someone buys the set and wants them. to my knowledge no one has ever slept on them. i have 8 bedrooms up stairs and really don't have many overnighters and i don't remember them ever being used. at any rate, should you buy the set, these can go with it for 600.00 on top of the sale price of the set. i have the box springs and mattress sitting on slats that attach to the bed rails, should you want the top of the mattress lower, the box spring and mattress can rest on the floor between the rails and lower the top about 10 inches. the mahogany grain on the beds and high boy is not to be surpassed, it is the very best. the condition of the set is mint, but i can't say mint because it is over 120 years old and must have a few little bumps and bruises here and there but none noticeable. it is museum quality however. the rails fit into the head and foot boards with dowels and are then bolted together within the rails and it is as solid as ever and does not wi

Up for auction is a RARE ANTIQUE OAK SALESMAN'S SAMPLE Miniature EASTLAKE MIRRORED BUREAU/ DRESSER Circa 1870-1885. Includes antique oak ornate Eastlake style mirrored dresser with candle holders and lift up compartment on bureau. Ornate applied molding at top of fancy scrolled mirror frame. Mirror can tilt. Grid lines on drawer fronts are typical of Eastlake style of the late 19th century. Regarding wood color, it is a medium oak color(looks a bit more red/orange in the photos) Any dark areas are shadows and white areas are reflections. As you can see this is a wonderful piece and could be used in many places in a home, whether as a miniature Salesman's Sample or a doll bureau for dolls. Seems to be original finish but I am not sure. Could be improved with restoration but again that is your choice. Drawers work fair, no sticking. Mirror is in very good condition and has wide bevel, might be new, and is missing the wooden backing. One peg missing underneath mirror outer frame but other three hold it in place fine. Mirror frame is attached to bureau with pegs that just slip into holes in the bureau ledge, and more brackets in back. All in all a fabulous miniature! Hard to find miniature Eastlake style. Antique Miniature Marquetry Chest of Drawers Apprentice piece Collectors Cabinet
Description This chest sold a month ago to a bidder that lives in Australia. I could not ship him the chest there because of shipping restrictions please see note below. My fault. I did not realize the size box that would be necessary to ship this chest safely. So my appologies. Here we go again. This listing is for a really quite spectacular circa 1850 very elaborate apprentice cabinet circa 1850 or so. The cabinet measures 19 inches high by 16 inches across and 8 inches deep. 48 by 40 by 20 cm) The cabinet has 4 wallpaper lined drawers. Each drawer has a brass escutcheon and two round wood pulls each with a brass star. The cabinet is mahogany with the top. Front and both sides covered in marquetry work. The marquetry work is at least 6 different woods including olive and fruit woods. The drawers are flanked by columns with fancy capitals ... moreand bases. The whole sits on 4 bun feet. As you can see by the photographs the cabinet is a really beautiful example of"proof" that an apprentice had achieved mastery of his cabinet making skills. The condition is also exceptional for it's age and virtually untouched as far as restorations or repairs. The drawers maintain their original wall paper interiors. AMERICAN FEDERAL WALNUT TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS WITH FLUTED COLUMNS Pennsylvania. C. 1810-20 Item# 410KPP11A A distinct transition into the Federal Period. This fine Pennsylvania Tall Chest of Drawers exhibits the classical architecture of the Chippendale era adapted for the Neoclassical taste of the early 19th Century. Retaining it's original oval pulls, these with roses embossed inside an infinite double loop and entirely untouched feet, this is a particularly desirable object for collectors. The concave crown molding is bold, aggressively projecting over the unembellished case of three small drawers over five graduated full drawers. The sides of the case extend through the feet, making the interior blocking of the feet an integral part of the case and something permanent- much of the reason the feet have survived in such extraordinary ... morecondition. The backboards are untouched and typical of the period with neat rows of square forged iron nails affixing the backboards to the case. Each drawer is of fine craftsmanship. The tidy hand dovetails crisp and perfect, the pine plank bottoms chamfered on the sides and front to be set in grooves along these edges; all drawers are tacked at the back edge with three hand forged nails. Protecting the contents of one drawer is a full dust board, the other drawers with partial dust boards over the first one-third. Flanking the drawers are the deeply fluted Corinthian columns with turned bases and caps so commonly found in chests of this region. As a well preserved and absolutely stunning object of Early Pennsylvania. Particularly interesting for the meld of Federal and Chippendale designs and it's very fine craftsmanship, this is an outstanding investment grade work of art that was built to last and if well cared for will last long beyond our lifetimes. AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE CHERRY TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS. PENNSYLVANIA In nearly untouched state of preservation. C. 1790-1810 Item# 410JPP11S This is the finest Pennsylvania Tall Chest we've had an opportunity to carry in several years now. The whole being preserved in nearly untouched condition and of a highly refined quality. All primary surfaces are crafted from cherry, this obscured beneath the highly oxidized and worn finish- the surface is very early, if not original with later touch ups. The molding is impressive with a double-cove stepping that allows it to project with an unusual stature over the delicate dentil molding wrapping around the sides and front. Deeply fluted Corinthian corner columns flank an impressive display of three small drawers over six graduated broad drawers. The three top drawers each have practical locking functions, ... morea sprig set in a groove beneath each drawer that must be released from beneath in order to open. These are affixed with a single iron nail and still function flawlessly. Each drawer retains it's original Hepplewhite style ovular pulls and original stamped brass escutcheons with inverted corners, the lip of each drawer projecting in a soft curve. The hand dovetailing is above average. The crispness of the pins above reproach- somewhat atypically, the back of the drawer dovetails onto the sides(versus the more typical alternative of the sides dovetailing onto the back and face) the sides of the drawer with a thin separate strip of poplar under the bottommost dovetail to create a groove for the deeply chamfered bottom to rest within. As poplar is infrequently a broad board, all drawer bottoms are two planks of solid poplar half-lapped in the center. The back edge of each drawer is tacked with a series of tiny square wooden pegs. Noteworthy in the case is the use of square wooden pegs in every facet of the construction- the backboards are affixed with generous rows of wooden pegging along the top, at each drawer level and along the bottom edge. AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS OVER OGEE FEET Pennsylvania c. 1790 Item# 410QNP11W A bold and impressive object. This fine American Chippendale Tall Chest of Drawers originates in southeastern Pennsylvania, possibly the Delaware River Valley. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the cabinetmaker choosing vivid walnut planks carefully to showcase the most important and striking aspects of the chest. Note in particular the wonderful flowing grains along the sides of the case, the overall horizontal flow of the grain along the front of the drawers lapsing in random swirls and burls of the plank. The case is crested by cove molding projecting over three small drawers, two medium drawers and four broad drawers- all carefully graduated to flow harmoniously together. Noteworthy are the two drawers with patches, not unusual for these cases ... morewith overhanging lips on the drawers- these are particularly susceptible to being damaged when a drawer is closed unevenly or too harshly, as is probably the case with one or both of these drawers. The repairs were done rather competently, the restorer having to carefully choose boards with at least as much figure as the neighboring parts of the drawers. The drawers are embellished with replaced pierced brass hardware. The frames handsomely dovetailed white pine with integral runners mitered to accept the chamfered white pine bottom, mostly crafted of a single huge plank of pine, this tacked along the back edge with iron nails. The drawers are flanked by fluted corinthian columns with turned caps and bases, the whole case resting over very striking and significant ogival feet. They project an unusual sense of strength and masculinity, each with soft scroll cut returns and resting over thin blades. The back of the case shows the simple and tidy construction we expect from the best craftsmen of this region, the triangular rear foot supports dovetailed into the facings for a permanent joint. Circa 1810. This transitional dresser which originates from the counties of Shropshire/ Staffordshire, is constructed in an unusual and rare design and boasts a lovely mellow original golden oak colour. The dresser base features four narrow spice drawers above a single piece oak top, which is finished off with a double moulded lip. To the centre of the dresser, there an unusual arched dome door, which is flanked by two large drawers. The arched door boasts a working lock and key and features its original brass knob. The drawers have been finished with cock beading to the perimeter and have been constructed using the traditional hand dovetail method with pine drawer linings. Above the central arched door is a further smaller drawer. The dresser boasts its original brass swan neck escutcheons, handles& knobs. Below, there is a further moulded frieze. Antique 18th Century Walnut Queen Anne Highboy Chest of Drawers 1725-1750
Description Fine 18th century highboy with beautiful burl walnut veneer and cabriole legs ending in club feet. Made in New England. Torus molding below the cornice is the front to a hidden drawer. This is an earlier highboy and was made circa in 1725-1750. Provenance: Northeast Auctions. Portsmouth, NH. Dimensions 69 inches high. 22 inches wide, and about 18.5 inches deep. 69x22x38 Condition The condition of the highboy is very good for its age. It is structurally sound with nice color. The are some places where small amounts of the veneer is missing(see photos) But this is normal for a pieces of this age and I don't believe it takes away from its appearance. Also, the molding on the left side of the upper right small drawer is missing. I have just ignored this, but if it bothers you it would be an easy fix. The drawers all open, but ... moresome stick a little at times. Finally, the highboy is married-i.e. the top and bottom were not originally associated. Our senior staff are in a heated debate on attributing to Boston or the Massachusetts North Shore(Salem) over the vertical styles on the base case. We solidly attributed this to Massachusetts in the late Queen Anne period at the cusp of the Chippendale furniture movement of the last half of the 18th century. We note remnants of paper label and have not had a chance to black light it yet but a faint signature in a drawer panel. ... moreIt has an entirely dovetailed joined case and one of the best formed full bonnets we have noted in a very long time with carved rosettes adorning the pediment. The finish is absolutely fabulous and original and it is embellished with the finest period brasses. We are certain the top chest matches the base frame and other than some typical maintenance to pine secondary panels(drawers) and possibly one back panel board on the back of the chest. We say"possibly" with great trepidation as we are not certain. If there was a replacement its at least a century old when the rest of the maintenance work was done. Its back panels are fastened with very nice rose head nails and frankly all toll these do not get any finer. We have brought some of the very finest 18th Century Highboys to market in the United States over the last few years and this is something of our ongoing experiment if this sales platform is mature enough for this caliber of material. Charming old bathroom vanity. Sink holder, chest of drawers. This is an all original cabinet with all original hardware and handles. It is sturdy, drawers open smoothly, and ready for everyday use. One small strip of wood has come off of the right hand side along the top border, but that is in one of the drawers and an easy fix. Also has worm holes throughout consistent with age. This likely dates from the late 1700s to early 1800s. It is 29" tall(w/o backsplash) 35 1/4" wide and 17" deep. It is not very heavy, maybe 50 lbs max. Free pickup is always welcome. The commode features full snail form cabriole legs and well detailed drawer fronts that retain the original gilt bronze pulls and locks. The commode has been repainted in a fine french gray. The top. Solid walnut with pine secondary wood construction. 3 over 2 over 4 lip moulded drawers. A desirable configuration. All drawers are dovetailed, with hand chamfered drawer bottoms, and yellow pine secondary woods. The cornice moulding is the original. As well as all of the interior drawer slides and back boards. The surface is a 1920-1930's refinish. It has mellowed over the years and looks pleasing. One might consider this a"mid-case" since it's only 58 1/2" tall. It measures 6 feet wide, 9.5 feet high and 16.5 inches deep. It features a shelved superstructure above rectangular surface fitted with 2 drawers on turned supports. The top is flat with a molded cornice, and the valance features a unique pierced interloop carved motif. Four grooved plate shelves. Lower section has a molded edge top over two half-width frieze drawers with old brasses which are not original. This section has a valanced apron on three baluster posts over a base shelf supported by block feet. Brasses are no original. The looping design of the frieze and the pierced apron are characteristic of dressers from the county ... moreof Shropshire in the West Midlands, just east of Wales. Walnut with inlaid satinwood and mahogany banding and burl panels, the finish is in excellent condition, preserving stains, losses and shrinkage separations for antique character. Every surface is hand planed. There are warps, shrinkage and uneven spots from age. Deep drawers have hand cut dovetail joints and chamfered bottoms. AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE CHERRY CHEST OF DRAWERS W/ FLUTED COLUMNS OVER OGEE FEET Pennsylvania c. 1770. Inscribed"Charles Davis" with other illegible inscriptions Item# 130206SWE15 An outstanding specimen of Early Pennsylvania craftsmanship. This chest of drawers is one that retains incredible character and history etched in it's worn and abraded surfaces. It's owners have been faithful caretakers of the chest, restoring breaks and losses without in any way altering the chest itself- though the feet have seen great wear, each cracked and broken at one point or another, every aspect of the feet have been preserved in full originality. Typical of much work from rural locations throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. The chest is constructed using large boards of cherry. The top board is molded around the edges, projecting boldly ... moreover the case, though this is softened by the molding that supports it's transition to the case. Large square wooden pegs secure the top to the case, driven through the top to wedge it into the frame in equal increments along the border of the top. A pair of drawers rest over three larger drawers. Each graduated in size and retaining their original brasses(locks absent) They are crafted of pine secondaries hand dovetailed front and back with a deeply chamfered bottom sliding into rabbets on either side and nailed in triplet with hand forged roseheads at the back of each drawer; along the chamfered edges, triangular blocks are glued for ultimate strength and longevity(a few replaced, a few absent) The third drawer up from the bottom is inscribed on the back"Charles Davis" in script on the back board of the drawer frame. Flanking the drawers are thick fluted quarter round corner columns, raising the crown molding like supporting pillars; they are in perfect proportion to the size of the case, giving a distinct architecture to the form. Very Nice Antique Mahogany Queen Anne Dressing Table. England, c.1760 Please view the entire slideshow here via Flickr: Very nice dressing table. Great small size! One large full width drawer over 3 smaller drawers. Mahogany wood veneer over pine. With oak secondary wood drawer construction. All drawers are dovetailed, with hand chamfered bottoms. 4 cabriole legs. Ending in Queen Anne pad feet. Legs are applied to the case, with all original corner returns. 2 of the corner returns on the back of the case are missing. Case is dovetailed in the back. Case is pine with mahogany veneer. There is 2 very old lead nails in the front stiles, they quite puzzle us. Appears to retain the original numbered brasses. The Thumb moulded top in our opinion is a replacement.

George III Chippendale Period Ribbon Mahogany Chest on Chest c, 1770
We are offering this wonderful George III period Chippendale Chest on chest that was made c. 1770. It has its original feet. Handles, backboards, locks, glue blocks, etc. It features a reeded frieze and a dentil molded cornice. It is probably not the original finish but it is an old mellow finish with good patina. The secondary woods are oak and deal(pine) The drawers are lined with quartersawn oak. The piece has had light use in its two and a half centuries and shows only a few repairs. All the drawers run smoothly. At some point the original feet were backed with plywood reinforcement and new corner posts. None of this is visable behind the original bracket feet. The varnishes would dramatically oxidize and smoother out the aesthetic effect of the wood's figured birch ornamentation. We found it charming that the old tin and wire mesh were left on the dresser. This was done to keep mice out of the case. From the overhung top to the crisp precise bracket base this dresser possesses excellent scale and proportions. The dresser is 39" long, 17 1/2" in width and 37 3/4" tall. It is as solid and tight as the day it was made with all the drawers having a nice crisp action.
