It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. There are a couple of very small little marks or bumps but nothing major and overall it is in Very Good used condition. This Would Be A Very Stylish Addition To Any Home! One of the most interesting thing about this desk is that in the upper corner of the right door there is a piece of paper taped inside that lists the presidents of the United States and has 24 of them with Woodrow Wilson being the last one and the date listed is 1893. This piece looks like perhaps the top may have been added later, not sure, and also where the slant top is looks like it was altered at one time as well. An amazing piece, all pegged. Description: This listing is for a ... moreChippendale Period Slant Front Desk circa 1770-80. Salem Massachusetts, in the manner of John Chipman(b. 1746-1819) It features solid Cuban Mahogany case, each side crafted of a single solid plank, through-dovetailed at the top and dovetailed at the bottom. The slant front lid features an original keyhole escutcheon over what appears to be the original brass lock, falling onto arms that slide out with brass knobs- one original, the left one replaced. The open writing surface is clean, with what appear to be two original brass hinges, though curious patching is noted below flaking each hinge. Above the writing surface is a collection of nine small drawers, the centermost shell carved, each with brass knobs, below which a gallery of six pigeon holes rest in perfect symmetry. The case has four graduated drawers. Each of which feature period bail pull brass hardware flanking a replaced lock with original brass keyhole escutcheon. The drawers are hand dovetailed front and back, the front dovetails hidden behind applied cockbead molding. The drawers are yellow pine secondaries, the bottom being deeply chamfered along the perimeter to rabbet into the frame. They slide easily in and out of the case over replaced drawer runners, the drawer dividers running into the sides behind a mahogany facade, effectively hiding what are probably dovetail joints. The back of the case has all original backboards, though many nails are replaced. The molded apron features a carved shell drop down medallion in the center that mirrors the design of the middle drawer. The case rests over scroll cut bracket feet, each with an incredible flowing design in the manner of John Chipman. We do not believe the desk was executed in the shop of John Chipman. As his cases will typically feature exposed dovetail drawer dividers in the Newport manner, and the pidgeon-hole gallery will regularly featur

antique slant top foreman's desk
I am not sure if I used the correct terminology for this piece. My grandfather. Who restored a lot of antiques, called it a foreman's desk but it doesn't seem to match that description on ebay. So whatever you call it, its kind of cool but i have no place for it at home so I'm selling it. the lid has a slight warp to it which clamping over time should reduce or eliminate. 8 3/4" high in back 20 3/4" wide, 18" deep and 4" high in front. the lower half of the lid was replaced and doesnt quite match but i think it still looks good.

This rare Gustav Stickley slant-top desk is a thing of beauty and a classic example of furniture from the Arts and Crafts period and the Mission style. The Stickley markings date this desk as being made between 1912-1916. It is made of solid oak hardwood and(on the slant top) tiger-eye oak veneer. The construction is primarily mortis and tenon and peg joinery. With the back piece nailed on with original hardware. The finish and patina are original, as is all of the other hardware. Florida. This is originally from the est ate of Howard Frankland- Tampa Businessman who proposed the bridge named after him between Tampa and St. Petersburg. If it is needed I can find the original buyer of the estate years ago but doubt I can find the relative who sold the house contents out. Size of this desk is as follows: Height 44 1/2 inches Depth 17 inches. Base is 41 inches by 17 inches. Top of desk is 7 inches. Top of desk has a light spot from water from a flower vase staining the wood light. Drawer sizes are staggered: 1st drawer is 4 1/2 inches height. 2nd drawer is 5 1/2 inches height. 3rd drawer 6 1/4 inches height. 4th drawer 7 1/4 inches ... moreheight, I did not measure the drop down lid or the cubby holes or the little drawers. measurements are pretty close with a ruler. I have been to a furniture refinisher who has dealt in early furniture for 50 years and the desk is cherry with poplar secondary wood. Meaning the drawer sides and bottoms of the drawers. The bottom of the desk or base board underneath with the dovetails extended through is pine. The brasses are later and one is missing on the bottom drawer. The period is 1840-60s. The photos were taken on a cloudy day with a flash and some look dark but it is a reddish color. There are a lot of square nails in the back some appear square some are round. The bottom underneath has square nails. Almost everything is dovetailed but the back boards. The foot is called a bracket foot. There is a crack in the top right side of the slant front. The desk was originally used by another business man also. The next owner was a business man also and the last user was a nice teenage daughter and has powder and dust in the cubby holes from makeup and play toys stored in all the neat drawers and the dresser drawers as well. We picked this beautiful peice up at an estate sale. The previous owners didn't know much about its origins. But thought it to be an italian peice from the late 18th-early 19th century. The desk was appraised at $2500+ by an antique specialist, but are letting it go for less as we have been unable to confirm its origins. It is definitely hand-carved, and is an amazing exhibit of craftsmanship. Has three serpentine. Dovetailed, drawers with intricate handcarvings on the front(3 3/4" deep) and a lock in each drawer. I acquired this wooden lap desk at a local estate sale of a wood worker here in Lancaster County. PA. It appears to be made of oak. It is a slant top lap desk with a brass piano hinged lid that opens to store paper. Pens, pencils, etc. There is also a built in pencil tray groove at the top. Great for a young child to use in their room for homework if there is not enough room for a full desk. The craftsman name was Bill Killough. Measures approx. 18" x 14" x 4" at the highest point.

Antique Chippendale Slant Top Desk Signed Albert R. Winroth
This antique Chippendale desk is tiger maple with dovetailing throughout all the drawers. Body, and top of the desk. It is signed by Albert R. Winroth and has a beautiful inscription of historical prominence that reads"Renovated by Albert R. Winroth and Sons Stoughton Mass. Oct. 7th, 1939 Just the way Dad would have done it. History, Hitler offers peace. Here's hoping they accept for the sake of the common European people" on the bottom drawer. This I believe is in reference to the Munich Agreement where Hitler informed Chamberlain that Germany was going to occupy the Sudetenland. Thus the removal of the Czechoslovakians in the area. Of these 7 children he had 4 sons whose names are Richard, Gustav, Victor, and Albert. This is a beautiful Chinese carved wood slant front writing desk with matching chair. We do not know how old it is. Nor who made it; there is one very much like it-same size, shape, hardware, little more carving-listed on Ebay, but I don't believe this one was made in the 1800's. It is very solid and very, very heavy. The Chair has a cushion on it and is also very solid and very heavy. The carving is on the front and both sides of the desk, and on the chair, as seen in the photos. All the feet on both chair and desk are carved at the bottom. Here is a fantastic original Georgian circa late 1700's English solid oak desk with gorgeous figured mahogany. The mahogany would have probably been added at a later date such as the early 1800's when figured mahogany veneer became more popular and more readily available. The pigeon hole interior has a unique look and design with lots of extra added details as well as a well interior below the writing surface which simply slides open. Exquisite antique continental slant or fall front desk. Made with intricate inlaid marquetry featuring striking burl fruitwoods. This small decorative piece was likely intended as a ladies' writing desk. The fall front opens to reveal a writing surface as well as two cubbies, two drawers and a tiny cabinet with door. There are two drawers below the writing surface, each with consecutive concave sections, scrollwork inlay and ornate meta pulls. The bottom portion features a carved skirt and graceful cabriole legs ending in trifid feet. Overall the desk is in good antique condition. With some wear and minor crackling to the surfaces. Antique Mahogany SLANT DROPLEAF SECRETARY DESK Serpentine Front Ball & Claw Feet
ANTIQUE SLANT TOP SECRETARY DESK DROP LEAF STYLE SERPENTINE SHAPE FRONT BALL& CLAW FEET This is from the 1940s. It is sturdy. Made of solid wood- some or most of which I believe is mahogany. The desk has a dark stain finish even though some of the photos came out lighter because of the lighting when I took photos. There are antique brass finish handles and hardware on the drawers- one handle is missing. The traditional drop leaf desk/tray and its mechanisms work without problems. The two front legs are ball and claw style- both have some of the finish chipped off of them. Overall, the desk is heavy duty and in sturdy condition with minor wear and tear. This would make a great refinishing project! The desk measures 34" wide x 42" high and about 18" deep. PLEASE EXAMINE PHOTOS FOR THE BEST DESCRIPTION. NC New England Style Circa 1790: Chippendale taste with reverse serpentine front; ball and claw feet; blocked top drawer above three plain drawers; shallow intaglio carved fan on writing flap; fitted interior; brass bail and rosette pulls. Federal escutcheons with incurved corners; brown gloss finish.
