We take a lot of pride in doing up our antiques nicely, and we certainly went all out here, with our head refinisher Norm doing a job of unbelievable quality on this desk. The chair seat swivels and the chair rolls around on casters. 16" wide x 19" deep x 35-1/2" high overall with a 19" seat height as you see it in the pictures. Looking underneath I can see that you can lower it down about 1-1/2" and you have about 6" total screw extending down below the spinning disk. You should be able to raise it 2 or 3 inches anyway. Seat height would then range between about 17-1/2 and maybe 22" You merely turn the disk to change the seat height. I lowered the seat to the minimum for shipment. The seat back has a black material tacked into place on the sides. I think it looks like old leather. But I don't know for sure. Beautiful. I found a few issues which I think are not very noticable. There was a crack in the top of the upright back support timber that I had to glue(the crack extending below the slot was not glued) One nut securing that support was replaced with a more modern one at some point, there is a split in the wood surface on the back of the seat back, one tack is missing from the back support, and there is a

This is a beautiful oak cabinet with a curved original glass door. 2 drawers, and a drop down desk.The mirror does have some age stains. One of the pieces of trim is broke which is pictured in the last 2 photos. Fortunately I have the piece. The top has what appears to be a moisture stain which is pictured in photo 7. This Circa 1900"S" Rolltop desk has been in the family for 64 years. It is a part of my fathers estate and will be sold to the highest bidder. The overall dimensions are approximately 55 inches wide. 51 inches tall, and 35 inches deep. The writing surface is approx. 32 inches high. The upper storage area consists of 10 drawers and 18 cubicles. The lower storage area has 9 drawers with the center drawer having its own key. Here is a fantastic original circa late 1700's English solid oak desk with gorgeous figured mahogany. The mahogany may have been added at a later date such as the early 1800's when mahogany became more popular and more readily available. The pigeon hole interior has a unique look and design with lots of extra added details as well as a well interior below the writing surface which simply slides open. The interior is solid oak.some beautiful quartersawn and this slant front will lock with a replaced lock and key. Hinges are heavy iron and original. The top drawer is a false drawer and then the 2 over 3 drawers are all graduated. All of the drawers inside and out are hand dovetailed as shown. A chalkboard, or a flat surface for writing(18"x 20 1/2" It was made by Lewis E. Myers& Company in Valparaiso, Indiana. The chart has two copyright dates- 1903 and 1913. There is some surface rust on some of the metal parts and it has space for two additional rolled charts. The chart that comes with the desk has some repairs over the years. You won't be disappointed with this beautiful and well preserved Clark's Spool Cotton Thread Desk. It is made from Golden Oak back in the 1800's. All the lettering and sign on front were hand painted. They are preserved very well. This particular one came from a store in Pittsburgh. Pa. The store operated from 1893 to some time in the 1960's. It was taken to a home and sat there till the home was auctioned at the estate sale. It has four drawers that work well and a pull open top for paperwork. The top stays open with the use of the built in wooden arm. The brass drawer pulls are all original. It also has an opening at the top for an inkwell. The black leather top is worn out and could be replaced if needed. Otherwise, the desk is in all original condition. Clark's Thread and J.P. 1890'S Double Sided Lady's Decorative Writing Desk Hand Carved Quarter Sawn Oak
Congratulations! You are bidding on a gorgeous 1890's Double Sided False Front Victorian Lady's Decorative Writing Desk with chair. The Desk is solid quarter sawn Oak with hand carved columns on the corners and leg opening. Hand carved"rope" decorative edge on the top and highly carved decorative legs with wooden ball and claw feet. The desk has all the original pulls. The contruction is of solid oak, dove-tailed corners on all the drawers. One of the drawers has had the bottom replaced with slats of wood(see pics) otherwise each drawer bottom is constructed of one piece of wood. Also, there is a split in the wood of the top of the desk. The split is approximately 1mm in width(very small) and I could not get it to show up on pictures accurately. The desk has been lovingly restored using an oak stain and a polyeurothane sating ... morefinish so that it will be hardy enough to stand up to daily use. As mentioned above the desk is double sided with a false front that draws attention to the unique hand-carved details of this beautiful piece. Antique Quartersawn Oak Desk w/Drawers VERY UNUSUAL!
Here you are bidding on an"Antique Quartersawn Oak Desk" This is quite an unusual but attractive looking desk. It has six drawers with oak handles. The drawers each have flat skeleton keyholes(one is missing) and FOUR of the drawers have small brass and black plates on them with numbers. The desk has paneled sides and front and metal bottoms around the legs. The metal bottoms have a L shape as to screw the desk legs in place to the floor. I'm surmising this was a factory desk of sorts or a business place desk. Not really sure. The desk top has two ink well holes on it. It is a very sturdy desk and its integrity is in place. There are some intials carved here and there and some markings(see pictures)0n it There are some markings and ink stains inside the drawers as well. All in all it actually adds to its look without diminishing ... moreits appearance in general. As you can see from the pictures its really a sweet looking item and quite different. It has a nice finish and patina to it as well. There is a sliver of a seam split on the desk top but again nothing that affects the integrity. Worthy of mention but as you can see for yourself from the pictures its in really good shape despite it age. I would say its circa 1890's. This was a well done roll top desk at the time it was built based on the high quality of the veneers and brass locking mechanism. Housing is 58" long x 30" deep and 20.25" tall. Tambor is in excellent original shape with housing in very good shape except for peeling veneer on one side of the housing in small veneer chip on top shelf all pictured. Unusual Antique Oak Roll Top Desk, circa 1890's
I have never seen a roll top desk quite like this one. It might have been custom made for use in a office. It is all original, in obvious need of refinishing, unless you prefer the original condition, albeit stains, scratches, etc. typical of piece of this age. There is a large roll up door on left with compartments and one drawer, the board pulls out allowing leg room to work at desk, it seems a big short, but if you measure to top of pull out board it measures 25" high, appears to be ample room for your legs. Overall dimensions of the desk are 45" wide by 31" deep by 44" tall. The right side has small roll up door with compartments for files, note the name"Dearborn" stamped on surface. Really nice antique Tiger Oak Desk available for pick up in Newport. RI. This desk is SOLID. I brought it with me from California and have decided to replace my office desk. It's got repairs, scratches, dents, etc. missing the original desk lock and could use some reinforcement on the drawers. Description Great Art Deco desk. Stamped for Goverment Issue with George VI crown underneath, the style is plain but very much Deco lines, so I'd guess it's 30's but could be 40's. Very unusual in that thought has been given to being able to move it easily. The legs detach and can be stored underneath in a custom made area! I love it's simple lines and elegance. One drawer either side, these are curved into the knee hole, again a nod towards deco design. The light oak has patinated beautifully and is now a righ buttery colour.
