Description: This is an antique Gustav Stickley drop front desk from the early 1900s Mission and Arts& Crafts period in very good condition. The piece appears to be made of chestnut and has been refinished in the past and has some rough edges. It has excellent form with cutouts at the top and a pair of pinned through tenons at the top and bottom of each side. There is a lower shelf and the drop front flips up via a locking metal support arm. The desk is signed with a brand as pictured. The desk is sturdy and strong. We h ave an artist around here who can add tiny wood to nic k you see on the second image. It will be perfect and you will not see the nick but this job will cost you $90. From a New Hampshire estate and for your consideration is a Mission Style mahogany slant drop front writing desk produced by the Novelty Wood Works Co. 1897-1912) of Union City. PA. The desk is 30.25" wide and 32" tall and 15" deep. The height of the writing surface is 15. I estimate the age of this desk to be approximately 110 years. It is in good to very good condition with some light surface scratches and cup marks as pictured. More wear is shown(appropriately) inside on the work surface. There is evidence of use(and age) by the scuffing marks on the inside walls from opening and closing the desktop. This desk does not take up much space so would work great in smaller areas. Straight out of a local estate. ORIGINAL authentic 1908 Gustav Stickley writing desk no.709. Five drawers with a kneehole compartment shelf underneath. Unsigned. But it has all the correct attributes and quality that speaks for itself. My research shows that many of Stickley's pieces were unsigned, or possibly had a label which could've fallen off over the years. This is 100% guaranteed to be 100% authentic Gustav Stickley! Pegged joint construction. Flush-tenon support beams underneath. GOOD CONDITION considering the age. LOOKS GREAT from a distance. Vintage oak mission style desk and chair
This is a neat mission style desk and chair. The desk needs some cleaning but in good condition. Desk Has a small set of initials carved into left hand corner. This is a part of a 93 year old man's estate. He had this in the family since at least the 60's. He couldn't remember when his deceased wife had purchased it. First of all. I am no expert on antiques, however I have been working in furniture retail all my life and admire great quality and craftsmanship as this chair offers. I believe it has been made entirely of white oak and some of the pieces appear to be quartersawn. They have very large stripes which leads me to believe it to be older than 100yrs or close to it. Please correct me if I'm wrong as I will change my listing. As stated before, I'm no expert. I have looked all over for a gustov stickler stamp hoping this chair to be worth 10's of thousands of dollars but he prob didn't make many student chairs. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The back looks like simple 3 slat back design. It has 2 sets of stretchers with square tenons between each legs. They are all structurally sound. I cannot see any repairs on it at all. This is a really special piece with an original finish that glows! The dimensions are 50" X 30" X 30" and is very heavy. The through tenons are faux and the lower shelf is missing the outside faux tenon on one side as seen in the pictures. The right hand drawer has also been rebuilt but retains the original front. I would love to keep this for myself but. After much discussion with my husband, it is ready for a new home. The previous owner spray painted the hardware. If anybody out there knows what this signature is, I would appreciate you letting me know. Something that starts with a B and ends in an X! Up for sale is a Beautiful Quarter Sawn Oak Teachers Desk and Chair. This is a nice solid piece. The desk measures approx. 61 inches wide. 33 inches deep and 30 3/4 inches high. The top of the desk is leather but is in a very used condition. There are 3 small draws on the left side, 1 small and 1 large draw on the right side, a middle draw and 2 pull out writing trays. This desk come the original quarter sawn oak chair on rollers. The base has had some repair(see last picture) but is very solid. Very nice piece. NO RESERVE

1920's Antique Mission Solid Quartersawn Oak Folding Secretary Desk
On offer is a classic antique Mission or Arts&Crafts secretary desk. This desk was purchased for considerably more money in 2005. It is in need of some repair. Which could be done relative easily, but is nevertheless which is why I am asking much less than purchase price. The rear right leg is wobbly and needs reinforcement. I added a steel bracket on to stabilize it a few years ago, but it was neither an attractive nor particularly stable solution. Also the top does not close flush because the hinges have been attached incorrectly and need to be moved(as simple as drilling two new holes and puttying over the old ones) On the plus side, the quarter sawn oak is really beautiful, the tiger oak pattern is exactly what you'd want in this kind of piece. We are pleased to offer this antique desk. This is a beautiful old desk dating to the early half of the 20th century. The desk is made of solid oak in the Mission. Arts& Crafts style. It is"Stickley" styled with a clean, simple design. The desk top is compromised of 2 planks which provide a generous work space. It has a single center drawer for pens, pencils, etc. Each side features two, open shelves for paper/file storage. The legs are simple and slightly supercede the height of the table top. The desk has wooden buttons which cover the screws/nails. It is in very good antique condition. There is a very slight bow on the top which is neither severe or distracting. There are some minor nicks and dings from use, but again, nothing too obvious or distracting. There is one screw cover that is missing on the back of the desk(see ... morephoto 10) The desk is sturdy and the screws can be tightened if they loosen. Tiger Oak Mission Style Drop Down Desk Quarter Sewn
This beautiful desk is made out of oak wood. Tiger oak wood, quarter sawn and is in solid, good original condition. This wonderful secretary style desk has a light/medium oak stain finish color, and it has a pull-down front with a drawer and shelving inside the top section, see pictures. Dove-tailed drawer with wood handles on the outside, see pictures, and the drawer is working properly. This is a high-quality piece with an elegant mission/arts and crafts style design. The condition is very good for it's age but there are some aging imperfections with a small dark spot on the top, and some on the bottom shelf and a couple inside. Also some sort of small circle outline near the top key hole. It looks like the front drop down is made in two pieces and there is a small separation of the two in an area. Really just part of the old character ... morebut I want to point out as much as I see so that you can decide if you are interested. Original Antique Charles Limbert Arts & Crafts Mission Library Table Desk 1910
Fabulous Charles Limbert Quartersawn Oak Library Table. I believe the finish is original as well as the hardware(obviously screws& washers have been replaced) This is not a claim I make lightly. Please see pics! Burned Limbert Arts& Crafts stamp on inside of drawer on the left. Measures 42” wide x 30” deep x 29 1/2” height. Condition: Pretty amazing. No cracks anywhere. It's a very solid. Sturdy, handsome construction. Flaws: On the top of the desk there is a spot on the right that is darker(see pic#9) where it looks like someone probably sat an ink bottle then tried to remove a bit of ink. It looks like it's been there for a very long time. It's not an eyesore but needs to be pointed out. There is also a very small gouge or nick on the right side(see pic#12) On the left leg there is a strange"mystery" spot(flat) ... morewith a tiny spot of paint next to it(see pic#10) Lastly. On the back edge of the top you see a little paint where someone put it up against a wall when there was wet paint(see pic#11) The inside drawer does have ink stains. If you'd like a pic I can certainly send it. Pic#6 is a close-up of the finish on the drawer(outside) to help uphold my claims of it being the original finish. I'm really just trying to point out anything I see as a flaw no matter how small. I've made no attempt to oil it or clean it with any chemicals.
