Antique Flip Top Writing Desk All original hardware. This desk was painted white. There are some minor spots where you can see the leftover paint residue that could be removed with a little elbow grease. There are some rings and pen marks on the pull out desk part as seen in the photos. The legs are a little wobbly but could easily be tightened up with minimal adjustments. I have not applied urethane to this again in hopes that I find a buyer that has a"vision" for what look they are going for. I believe that this desk is made of walnut but. Can't say for sure. I was told by one of my customers that their grandmother has the same desk that was from the 1800s and came over from Germany. ANTIQUE ART DECO c1926 AGED STEEL BRASS LEG LIBRARY OFFICE DESK TABLE ONE DRAWER
We are pleased to offer this wonderful antique desk. The desk is constructed of steel and has heavy brass(does not accept a magnet) around the bottom of the legs. The desk was produced by Art Metal and manufactured in Jamestown. NY. It is dated 11/26 in both the drawer and on the inner section of the desk. The desk retains the original, chocolate brown paint on the sides, front and the back. The top has no paint(maybe originally designed this way) and is a silver, steel color. Each exterior side of the desk features a large, stenciled, Art Deco styled medallion. I think this was probably added to the desk at some point and do not think it is original. It does give the desk a unique look, however. The desk was made for reading or writing. It does not have side storage but does have a large center drawer. A partial foil manufacturer's sticker ... moreis located inside the desk. In their most prosperous years, Art Metal won exclusive rights to furnish public libraries, offices, etc. with their noncombustible furniture. They made excellent quality pieces and this desk is a fine representation of their quality. The desk is in very good structural condition. It is heavy and quite sturdy. The finish has a general aged appearance(which I happen to like) The paint has peeled in areas and the top has some aged, rusted spots. If you don't care for the aged character, you could strip and refinish pretty easily. The desk measures 28" tall. It is 29.75" wide and 24" deep(front to back) It has a knee space height of 24" The drawer is 17" wide. 13" front to back and 1.5" tall(interior space measurements) THE DESK IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. Original Antique Charles Limbert Arts & Crafts Mission Library Table Desk 1910
Fabulous Charles Limbert Quartersawn Oak Library Table. I believe the finish is original as well as the hardware(obviously screws& washers have been replaced) This is not a claim I make lightly. Please see pics! Burned Limbert Arts& Crafts stamp on inside of drawer on the left. Measures 42” wide x 30” deep x 29 1/2” height. Condition: Pretty amazing. No cracks anywhere. It's a very solid. Sturdy, handsome construction. Flaws: On the top of the desk there is a spot on the right that is darker(see pic#9) where it looks like someone probably sat an ink bottle then tried to remove a bit of ink. It looks like it's been there for a very long time. It's not an eyesore but needs to be pointed out. There is also a very small gouge or nick on the right side(see pic#12) On the left leg there is a strange"mystery" spot(flat) ... morewith a tiny spot of paint next to it(see pic#10) Lastly. On the back edge of the top you see a little paint where someone put it up against a wall when there was wet paint(see pic#11) The inside drawer does have ink stains. If you'd like a pic I can certainly send it. Pic#6 is a close-up of the finish on the drawer(outside) to help uphold my claims of it being the original finish. I'm really just trying to point out anything I see as a flaw no matter how small. I've made no attempt to oil it or clean it with any chemicals. Hello- This is a large Lighted Desk 16" Replogle Glass Library Globe. There are a few tiny paint chips. That are not noticeable when the Globe is off- and minor when the Globe is lit up. Each paint chip is about the size of a felt pen tip, and a couple smaller than that. The cap on the end of the actual cord is partially gone, but still ok to use. It is an impressive piece, standing approx. 25" tall x 19" at the widest. It is on a traditional Duncan Phyfe style base, which is what the Replogle Co. most commonly used during that time. The stand is in WONDERFUL shape, no major scratches or dent's in the wood, and can easily be touched up with a furniture refinishing pen, found at most local hardware stores. For your consideration, RARE" Original late 19th or early 20th Century American Table or Desk Lamp. No makers mark found. Socket looks to be a 3rd generation GECo. Has Pat September 25, 90 stamped on the brass ring. Cord& glass shade look to be period correct. The plug appears to be a new replica replacement. Glass shade does have small chipping spots that you cant see on the top rim where it is attached by the three knurled screws. Adjusts from 13-1/2" tall up to 23" tall. Nice heavy double pedistal base with a shelf if you wanted to put something on it, pull out drawer opens with a ink well hole. desk top of drawer opens for storage of whatever you'd like, Nice solid shape and I even have an advertisement for this type of cadillac desk table. A beautiful finish and unusual fixtures compared to the dozens of other arts& crafts library tables I've seen online. I especially like it because the top has a"recessed" look and doesn't overhang the legs as most others do. The bottom shelf is very strong, too. I found this piece at Adam Monroe Antiques. A dealer on Chicago's antique district on Belmont Avenue in the late 1980s. I'm not sure, but it looks like it has been refinished as the wood is beautiful and not as banged up as others I've seen online. I think the drawer pulls and casters are original. Although I am no specialist(request close-up photos if you want) The drawer pulls look to be copper, and I've not seen another library table with casters. It has two large drawers(15.5" wide x 24.25" deep x 4.25" high, interior measurements) and casters(wheels not shown, but installation is easy, just insert into holes in legs, see other pics) It has a full maker label underneath(and I think a model number, see pics) Condition is very good overall. This is a large and impressive table with a variety of potential uses. It is made from a mix of solid walnut with walnut veneers on the flat surfaces. All of the figures are hand carved and individual in their own way. The table is in excellent antique condition except for the veneered top which we evaluate as good. The veneering on the top is not loose but it has a number of small chips. Scratches and minor cracking that is typical of an antique table top. The top is very usable as it is, especially if you appreciate antiques as they are with minor visual imperfections. Dimensions: 81" long, 39.5" wide, 31" high. Library Table - Wood & Naugahyde & Large Brass Tacks - Medieval Steampunk Desk
Unique library table. Wood base with a Naugahyde-covered top attached with large brass tacks. Measures approximately 55" long x 34-1/2" wide x 28-1/2" high. The table is heavy and solidly built. I would guess that it was made in the 40's and had the cover added or replaced in the 70's. There is a name written on the bottom with the year 1977. But there is also a much older small piece of a tag affixed to the bottom of the table with the same nails used for the pleather. The underside of the top is plywood, and the legs and stretchers appear to be solid wood, possibly walnut. I don't know what the top looks like beneath the naugahyde. The finish is worn on the base, for the most part consistently but with a few scratches here and there, I imagine with a little bit of stain the wear spots and scratches could be cleaned ... moreup. The top is overall in good condition but with two small punctures. A small tear along the edge, ink transfer in a 3x5 area, and a general patina of scuffs/scratches/etc. I wiped the top down with soap and water, but I didn't try to clean it using any harsher cleaners or anything to hide the scufffs- I'm sure you could do something if you wanted to, but I actually think it looks great as-is. This can be seen in Westborough MA any day/evening this week except Thursday before 4pm- please send me an email through ebay if you'd like to set up a time. Local pick-up. Very Nice. VINTAGE 1970'S BRASS EAGLE. PRE-OWNED, GOOD CONDITION. This is a Desktop. Or"Library-Style" Piece that would look AWESOME on a Shelf. Desk, Den or Library. Heavy, weighing nearly 2 1/2lbs, this Lovely Bird is a Classy and Classic Piece of Décor. There are No maker marks; there is nice detail to the Eagle-the"feathers" Talons and face-some areas are smooth, particularly the underside of the right wing; there is some"greening" areas- the Eagle would probably benefit from a date with some Brasso to really make it sparkle! All one piece. The Eagle is Perched on a Branch either just landing. Or getting ready to take off. The Figure is 10" high at the highest area from the bottom to the upturned wing, approx. 5" high at the other wing. The Eagle's wing span is 12" from tip-to-tip. ... moreAnd actually 15" across. The Eagle's Wing's are 6 1/2" x 2 3/4"right wing) 7" x 3"left wing) The details of the"feathers" on the wings. Tail and legs are quite stunning. The Eagle is 7" long. 1" wide and 4 1/2" around the neck. The Eagle has a pointed beak and detailed eyes-there is smoothing around the facial area. The Eagle's sharp talons grip a branch. Also nicely detailed. The branch stands on"3 legs" the bottoms are smooth and the Figure is nice and solid-No wobbling. The Branch is 3 1/2" long, 2 1/4" high and 2 1/2" around the middle. Each end of the branch is smooth. There is a seam on the underside of the branch, and one can see how the wings and tail were likely soldered onto the back/topside of the Eagle. Nice-sized.
