But it will really always be"Grandpa's writing desk" Unfortunately my seller is downsizing their home and grandpa's desk needs to find a new place to go. It is a lovely little piece measuring 39" tall. 27" across and 15" deep. It is in nice condition given it's age, but it does have a small chip out of the front right corner post. You can see it in the photos. The interior is plain with no shelves, drawers or cubbies. The information that I received from the appraisal company is as follows: The drop front oak(not quarter-sawn oak) writing desk is a Mission style Arts and Crafts desk; there is a keyhole in the top of the fall front and a small gallery or backplate on the top back of the desk. There is an"H" stretcher in the middle bottom of the desk and a vertical"X" stretcher on each bottom side of the desk; the legs are quadrant legs; there is one drawer with round brass pulls beneath the fall front. I would date the desk C. 1900-1915; the value would be between $625.00 and $700.00 in today's retail market. Due to the size of this item it will not be available for shipping. The piece appears to be made of chestnut and has been refinished in the past and has some rough edges. It has excellent form with cutouts at the top and a pair of pinned through tenons at the top and bottom of each side. There is a lower shelf and the drop front flips up via a locking metal support arm. The desk is signed with a brand as pictured. The desk is sturdy and strong. Straight desk lid that you have to carefully lower with cubby holes inside. Beautiful oak that was refinished professionally several years ago. Very Nice Arts& Crafts Period Brass Desk and/or Table Lamp. Works Great! It has an Excellent. Rich Patina. The Base has a Fantastic Stylized Period Design. It is in Good Overall Condition- there is a little area of discoloration on the base(see photos) but nothing very significant. It is marked on the bottom with a number either 6191 or 1619 depending on which way you look at it. Nice Acorn Finial of the same Patina. Leviton Socket of the same patina. Period cord and plug. It is 19-7/8" in height to the top of the acorn finial. It is10-1/4" in height from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the socket. The base is 6" in diameter. It is an 8" height harp. Handel Arts and Crafts Desk Lamp with Brown Mosserine Shade
This rare version of a Handel desk lamp represents the top of the line of the various desk lamps that the Handel Company offered. It is taller than the other versions. Measuring 15" tall, and the shade is also wider than other models measuring 10" wide. The shade is acid-etched on the exterior to produce a textured pattern, called Mosserine, in brown to cream colors, which are more pronounced with the lamp is turned on. The interior of the shade is signed Handel. The base has a rich brown patina. It comes with its original acorn pull cord. The electrical wiring has been updated with a new cloth covered cord that has an on-off thumb switch. The base has a new felt bottom with Handel cloth label. There is rust and paint on all and throughout. If you soak tips. In straight vinegar for a day or two, then scrub and rinse with a baking soda bath, then clear water. These will come out factory clean. After thoroughly dry. Be ready to primer paint coat immediately, or they will turn copper rust orange in a few hours.

Here is a fabulous and rare find these days. a gorgeous Limbert's quartersawn oak desk. Made in the United States in the early 1900's and bearing the Limbert's Furniture burned in the wood mark as shown. According to Wikipedia's information on Limbert, Charles P. Limbert(1854-1923) was founder of the Limbert Furniture Company and a contemporary of Gustav Stickley. Although the two most likely didn't know each other. Stickley was more of a self-promoter while Limbert was content to let his furniture speak for itself) Limbert's quartersawn oak furniture is characteristic of the Arts and Crafts movement in America; some of it looks similar to that produced by other makers of the day. Many of the company's better pieces. However, are pleasingly unique, are solidly constructed and stand on their own merits. As far as ... morebiographical information they state Charles Limbert was born in Linesville. Pennsylvania in either 1854 or 1856. The son of cabinetmaker and furniture dealer Levi H. Limbert. After moving with his family in 1866 to Akron, Ohio, he later learned the furniture business in the 1870s at his father's store. As a young man in Akron the first business he tried on his own was in the carriage trade. After leaving his adopted hometown in the mid-1880s he moved west and began his career as a furniture salesman. Charles started making chairs in Grand Rapids. Michigan while continuing to distribute furniture made by others. Limbert established a factory in 1902 where he designed and built what he termed"Dutch Arts and Crafts"style furniture and light fixtures. In 1906 he opened a factory in Holland. Michigan. Which he regarded as a more healthy environment for his workers. Limbert continued to manage his company until 1922, when poor health prompted him to sell his share in the company. Estate fresh! A fantastic vintage Gustav Stickley arts and crafts 729 drop front desk. Early 20th century made around 1909. Decent original finish with hammered copper pulls and complete pigeon hole gallery insert inside with key. Two over three drawers. Thru-tenon slab sides and pegged to the front lower stretcher also pegged in the front by the top. Condition is very good but the drop needs restoration. It has numerous chips in the veneer. Some roughness on the edges and front corner on the feet and edges but typical wear from something that's over one hundred years old. The pigeon hole gallery inside has some wear and the door is cracked and needs repair. Slight separation on the left slab side but very tight. No wobbles or looseness. Measurements are approximately 36.5" wide by about 15" deep and is 45" high. Signed ... morewith the red decal compass mark inside the right drawer. Was the descendant of the renowned Heintz Arts Metal Shops produced lighting, desk accessories, vases and other forms in solid bronze under what was called the"Silvercrest" line. The work of the Heintz Art Metal Shops as well as that of the Smith Metal Arts Company are highly sought after by collectors. Arts and Crafts Smith Metal Arts Lamps are uncommon, to say the least. This one is circa 1919, and is just exquisite in condition, form and construction. Raised bronze decorative designs highlight the shade, as does the beaded bronze banding at the shades edge. Similar beautiful raised accents encircle the pen holders at the base. Solid bronze main shaft truncates with a superb curl at its crest. I purchased this many years ago for ... moremy own collection because of the beauty and intricacy of the form as well as the heavy and superb construction quality. And then proceeded to invest a well-spent but considerable sum having it completely restored by the now renowned and collected Michael Adams of Aurora Studios. Michael is a present day craftsman working in hammered copper. his work, especially including his patinas is considered to rival that of Dirk Van Erp and is already being collected in his lifetime. This has had the patina completely redone by Michael, and has been entirely rewired with reproduction silk wrapped cord. the reflective pearlized paint to the interior of the shade was also restored by Adams. The exquisite pens and pen holders are period NOS(new old stock) replacements that match the lamp perfectly(took me a long time and a lot of searching to find those) And have never even been filled with ink. Reflective gilt bands deep within the bakelite pens encircle their barrels, and with their 14K gold tips are just beautiful. Built-in pen tray, original switch, tilt-adjustable shade. exquisite. This as found unusual desk lamp dates from the early 1900's. Has heavy. I believe, wrought iron base with a copper paneled lantern-type shade. Shade has upper and lower copper sections with a"peened" design. Shade has 10 vertical leaded panels of amber"pebble" glass. Vintage pull chain socket. The heavy square base has a vertical rectangular piece of twisted and bent iron. Fixture is in as found used working condition. Does work with old cloth 2-strand wiring(needs replaced) Iron base has surface rust overall. Copper shade has darkened from age. Glass panels have no breaks or cracks. Lamp stands approx. 20 1/4 in. tall. Base is approx. 4 5/8 in. by 5 in.

This is a solid brass Frog on a Lilly Pad PAPER CLIP with a verdigris finish by Virginia Metalcrafters. The paper clip measures 5-1/4" long x 2-1/2" wide and 1-1/2" tall. It weighs 8.5 ounces. It is in good condition- some of the verdigris finish has rubbed off on the front where the brass shines through. You can see the aged patina on the back. This wonderful Desk has a dove-tailed drawer on the front that is made out of solid wood on the inside, and it is working properly. This classic Desk has interesting Brass-finish handles on the drawer, see pictures, and it has a built-in wood shelf/foot-rest on the bottom. This wonderful Writing Desk has a charming Mission Arts& Crafts-style design. See pictures, and it is finished all the way around& it can be displayed in the center of the room. Good antique patina. A lovely little antique hand hammered copper picture frame for your desk top or shelf. I don't know this signature. But I guarantee it's a good one. It's signed N K E in a triangle shape. Very well marked, but all my research came up blank. Maybe you know? Maybe your advantage! Very well made with great craftsmanship. The signature plate is signed by noted Chicago Desk Maker. Clemco. Inside this American made antique office furniture are cubicles and small drawers for papers plus letter holders on the sides. The roll glides smoothly. There are no working keys. Cast brass pulls are original. Brass feet protected the legs in the days of wet mopping. There is a file drawer plus two pull out shelves for extra workspace. Dovetailed drawers are deep, this desk can be disassembled for delivery. Arts & Crafts Mission Oak 1915 Antique Teacher Desk with leather top and chair
Up for sale is a Beautiful Quarter Sawn Oak Teachers Desk and Chair. This is a nice solid piece. The desk measures approx. 61 inches wide. 33 inches deep and 30 3/4 inches high. The top of the desk is leather but is in a very used condition. There are 3 small draws on the left side, 1 small and 1 large draw on the right side, a middle draw and 2 pull out writing trays. This desk come the original quarter sawn oak chair on rollers. The base has had some repair(see last picture) but is very solid. Very nice piece. NO RESERVE
