VINTAGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WOOD CHILD'S DESK - ANTIQUE

Antique Wood Mantle Desk Clock w/ chimes - jenny Lind turned accents 1900's
Here is a very unique chime clock. I can envision this clock sitting in a homestead home at the end of the 1800's to early 1900's. Seems to be over-wound. So not working. The chime mechanism does work, however. It is quite small- 10" high and 8.5" wide. There are two small pieces of veneer missing from the front panel of the base, and it looks like there was at one time a finial attached to the top center. The knob on the back to adjust the hands is missing. There is a split in the wood above and below the clock face. But overall a very cute, rare clock. There is a maker's mark on the face consisting of"Trade Mark" and a"J" inside of a star. Photos describe best.

ANTIQUE Late 1800's WOOD WRITING LAP DESK for TRAVEL w/ KEY Made in Spain
ANTIQUE WRITING LAP DESK This is a great antique writing lap desk. I think it dates back to the late 1800's. It was a family heirloom. From the lithograph and paper label on the inside. I believe this lap desk original came from SPAIN. This travel lap desk has been used through the years so there are expected signs of wear from normal use. The wood on the bottom has a split. I am sure not too difficult of a repair. The red cloth writing surface is worn and a bit soiled. The wood is overall nice but there are some minor scratches and scuffs from age and use. The paper labels on the inside have some additional writing not original to the labels. This desk measures 16" x 11 1/4" when opened and 8" x 11 1/4" when closed. The wood does show signs of use witn minor crazing in the glaze and minor surface scratches from use over the years. The clock has a brass colored metal bezel with a glass dial cover. Nice looking original primitive antique desk topper. Unknown origin, maker, age. As you see it is stenciled 1766 in the same color dark stain as the rest of the piece. Nice size at 30" wide, 9 1/2" tall, and 6" deep. The wood construction is all 1/4" except for the supports. I added extra pictures to show the condition, surface wear, scratching, marks, ect. It is a solid piece in overall good useable condition, no wood cracking, breaks or chips, just the minor condition issues from age and use. I am estimating this box is from the 1800's. Nice collectible lap desk, writing slope, sometimes referred to as sailors writing desk. Large measuring just over 16" X 9" X 5" Black fabric what I believe to be velvet writing surface- See the many photo's. The box, lock and brass hinges or hardware are all original, the key was a later find which to my surprise works. It will not work with the original outer keyplate however. You will see someone obviously tried to open it with out the key. The outer top of the box is what is so impressive, marquetry or parquetry not sure or the proper term. whatever works. Antique/Vintage Burled Wood Desk/Dresser/Jewelry Box. This is an elegant old box from the days when men kept their pocket knives. Pocket watches, rings and cuff links in a box on the dresser. This box would be equally well suited on the desk to hold pens, letter openers and stamps. It is made from a beautiful piece of burled wood stained a dark cherry. I am not sure if this is a burled walnut, curly maple or just what type of wood. For those that don't know. Burled wood comes from the stump of the tree where the grain becomes gnarled and multi- directional. This makes it very difficult to work with. But the finished pieces are extraordinary. This box is 10 1/4" wide by 4 1/4" deep and 1 3/4" tall. It has brass hinges and a pen/knife/ring slot in front of the lidded box. Thank you for your time.

The cast iron legs have a neat Victorian Scroll design and are marked Buffalo New York and with the number 3 and three patent dates from 1881. 1890 and 1897. Up for sale is a vey old wood and metal school desk in original condition. Untouched and with all the years of use. Memories, and charm, this desk dates from the early 1900's. This can be an"Eclipse" folding desk, but I am not sure as it is unmarked from what I see. It is not cast iron, and has some rust as shown. It is blonde oak, and the best part about it is the inkwell, which is not only very hard to find in these old desks, but shows the age, as this was used when inkwells were needed. The seat folds as shown in some of the photos, and there would be another desk like this in back of it for the user of this desk to sit in. Nice 19th century traveling writing desk. Wood veneer is broken in a couple of places. There are old repairs to the veneer. As well. There is a little brass key inside. We couldn't get the lock to work. The wtiting surface is covered in green felt, in good condition. The bottom is covered in red felt. The interior has some ink stains. Hinges are in good repair. Large Antique Victorian Burled Walnut Wood Lap Desk - Bed Tray
This is one gorgeous piece of wood. It is burled walnut and is from the early 1800s. It is a lap desk or maybe used as a bed tray. It is 32" long and 14" tall. It is in really nice condition. You can obviously tell it is a true antique but I don't see any chips on the edges, etc. Please ask if you have questions. French Louis XVI Antique Satin Wood Marquetry Writing Secretary Desk Chest Table This is a magnificent Louis XVI style antique Secretary Desk leather top writing desk with satin wood burl wood insets and superb marquetry and parquetry bordering on satin wood grained fronts and sides with finely engraved brass mounts. Dolphin feet, and drawer pulls. It measures about 32 inches(81.28 cm) tall by 25.2 inches(64 cm) wide by 16 inches(40.64 cm) deep. It weighs over 41 pounds(18.6 Kg) by itself. Without any packing materials. It features two pull out drawers with wavy. Curved fronts, plus a slide out pull out leather topped writing desk platform that also can be taken completely out. The drawers are all dove tailed joined indicating earlier era construction and show aged wood inside. There is magnificent marquetry pinstripe bordering very finely ... moreinset wood pieces that are only found on the more exceptionally crafted pieces. Here's what I stated about this gorgeous cabinet's condition: One wood split crack and chip of inlaid veneer marquetry on front middle of bottom drawer. The drawers have some resistance when pulling out. But the can be pulled out completely and fairly easily, but just have some snug fit little tug drag to them, as does the slide out writing desk platform, but not at all a problem and just not real easy and loose pulling out. Some minor surfaces scratches, but other than these remarkably well preserved and beautiful condition dovetail joined antique writing desk cabinet. Truly an incredibly beautiful and stand out showcase piece that is hard to find one as remarkably crafted as this. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! This is one really cool piece of history! There are ink wells and pencil cutouts for seven people/employees. It is straight on one side and curved on the other side. See the pics as to how I squared it up on a trailer to best show the curvature. It is 138" long by 88" on the curved side. I am not certain if this was used as a school desk. Vintage Alma Desk Co. Chair I picked up this Neat Alma Desk Co Vintage Office Chair at an estate sale outside of Washington. DC. This vintage office chair is in good condition and has green vinyl material on the back seat and sides of chair cushion. I believe that the material on the cushion is cotton. There is one small nic in the vinyl. A missing black piece on the bottom where the wheels are and a few light orange spots on the cushion that I have not tried to remove. There are a couple of imperfections on the wood that is apart of normal wear. Since this item is large.
