Beautiful Solid Wood Antique Post Office Desk
A wonderful antique post-office desk that has been in my family for 20 years(originally purchased in Texas) We're finally selling it to prepare for a move to the East Coast. The desk is 54" long by 35" wide by 71" tall. It's solid and very sturdy. The cubbies are detachable from the main desk(so not too bad to move) There is wear consistent with its original use and age. The stain has worn down in some places and there's one small chip on a drawer. It's a great piece of American history- and remains both stylish and utilitarian! It features a tambour sliding door with five interior sections. The open sections measure from 3-1/2" to 6-1/2" wide x 3" deep x 3-3/4" tall. From what I can read on the partial sticker below the switch. This is called the CIRCULA. Its made by a company that has a EM in the middle of their logo, and they were located in Philadelphia. ring a bell? This fan stands 8 3/4 inches tall, and is 10" wide. It is as found with the exception of the replaced cord. The existing cord was shot and I needed to see the extent of any damages before listing. I also added a new grommet. It has a two speed switch(left- off- right. I assume center is off) The fan operates when switched to the right, and I believe this is the slower setting. The finish is really good for its age and looks like wood. its steel. It is missing one rubber foot. The blades are steel and have what looks like brass colored film over them, this film is pealing at the edges. We are pleased to offer this primitive/rustic. Antique(1920s to 1930s) wall desk/cabinet. This piece has been hand crafted of rough sawn pine with a dark wood stain. It features a pull down front which exposes the interior storage compartments and also serves as a writing surface. There is a letter holder as well as shelved storage compartments inside the cabinet. The hardware consists of a glass door pull, hammered brass hinges and old iron chain. There are magnets on the interior which hold the door closed. These appear to have been replaced at some point. The exterior of the cabinet is trimmed in"barn door" fashion. We have a wonderful antique, Victorian era slant top lap ... moredesk which is on a stand. Inside of the desk is a panel that conceals two secret drawers for security while travelling. You never know when your stagecoach is going to be set upon by brigands or highwaymen! The wooden box, we think it is walnut, features brass hardware, as you can see in the photos, the lock, the inset on the cover, and straps around the corners, etc. The box measures approx. 13 ⅝" by 8 ¾" by 5 ¾" standing approx. 19 ¼" tall with the stand. When you open the desk. You can see the desk top panels are covered in a textured black paper with gold gilt trim. The finish of the wood has a wonderful glow to it, along with signs of age and use, such as surface scratches and little nicks, as well as mystery stains. We found an old hand written name on one of the wood pieces- T W Cox. We took photos of it, so that you can see for yourself. We believe that the stand is a later addition to the piece; the wood is not quite a match. Antique Louis XVI side table with gorgeous and meticulous marquetry and parquetry inlay decorations. It has curved and bowed legs with brass mounts and claw feet and features a drawer. It also features beautiful brass galleries at each table rim and exquisite gilt metal bead work on the rim edges as well. It is constructed in beautifully grained solid mahogany wood with satin wood and rosewood veneer inlays. For auction is this small antique child's desk and chair. It has adjustable Heywood Eclipse Industrial legs. The chair with curved sides and spindles sits on a round base and is adjustable as well. It will look great in any living area. It needs very little space. The top measures 21 x 13" It has a cubby for supplies and a hole on top for an inkwell or cup. When pushed in. It protrudes only 16" from the wall. This chair is in unrestored condition which I personally prefer but it will look great restored also. It is all original with the exception of two of the 8 flat head screws that fasten the legs to the top. They have been replaced with two of the same size and type screws only newer. It is surprisingly a very sturdy desk and chair given its age. The base and legs are rusty and I have not tried to clean them. The legs and ... morebase all have holes so they can be fastened to a base or floor if desired. It is 21 inches tall at the moment. I have not tried adjusting the legs. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself. The lap desk is probably English made. But that is just a guess, you be the judge. F or your consideration is this beautiful antique lap desk in very nice condition. The wood is most likely walnut and it has a great luster to it. What makes this piece really unique is the secret slide drawer compartment at the bottom of the case. It can be opened by opening the case and then taking the brass rod out of the left side of the box that"locks" it in place. My guess is this piece dates to the mid to late 1800s. You be the judge before buying. This lap desk is beautiful with ... moreonly small surface scratches. The corners are seamed togethers. A slice of veneer below the secret drawer is missing. Very nice wood and graining. The inside folding pieces are still all there as well. The hinges are all there. The top panel of the desk has come unglued and I have left it that way. I took the pics of the case with what I think was the inside of the case, but I think it looks better that way. So leaving top unglued, so that the next owner can decide which side they want showing. The lock and latch and the bone piece around the key hole are there, the case did not come with a key. The top of the inside of the desk has a green felt fabric on it which shows wear. The bone pull is on the secret drawer to pull it out. The desk has two brass handles to carry it by. Both sides of the lap desk open for storage. Has open areas for two ink bottles in the well areas. One on the left and one on the right. The bottom of the lap desk has felt that is coming off. The bottom of the case needs some re-gluing as well. The lap desk measures 13.25" wide. 5-5/8" tall and is 9-1/8" wide. Don't miss out on this unique item. The secret drawer is 8-7/8" wide. This

Here are the measurements: Height:60 3/4” Width at the top of desk: 18” Body width: 16” This desk is most unique in that it has two hidden drawers. One at the top and one at the base. The one on the top measures 5 inches high and the bottom one is 4 3/4 inches high. The three drawers on the bottom are 5 3/4 inches high and 29 1/2 inches wide. The large fold down section is 21 inches high and 29 inches wide which swings down on brass slide hinges to use as a writing surface. It locks with a brass blocks that move in place when key is turned. The 6 cubby holes on the inside top of desk are 4 1/2 inches wide and 10 1/2 inches deep each. The two drawers on each side are spring loaded and measure 2 inches wide and 8 1/2 inches ... moredeep. The four pull out drawers measure 7 1/8 inches wide and 9 inches deep. The Extensole Corp. Sparta. Michigan, made a variety of extension tables based on 18th and early 19th century English furniture models. This is a Beautiful desk/dinning table circa 1970's( 7 leaf extension table) which can be set at any length you like. The extension mechanism is made by the Watertown table slide corporation in Watertown, Wisconsin. The total length with all leafs 109.5 inches long and the table is 40 inches wide. We think it might be nickel plated brass. It is not magnetic and it looks like the"silvery color" nickel plate is worn off here and there and looks to be a brass color underneath. The top finial is brass as well as the collar between the handle and bell. The top finial has a spot that could be a manufacturing flaw or a piece of the edge is missing. Either way. Its been this way for a very long time. We are not sure of the age. So we will have to leave that up to you to decide. The bell measures approx 7 1/4" tall to the top of the handle. ANTIQUE Early 1900's Wood & Metal (Cast iron?) SCHOOL DESK - Pull out Drawer
For auction is a sweet little antique student school desk with a pull out drawer underneath. I was told it is probably from the early 1900's. But I'm not quite sure. It is very heavy and constructed of both wood and metal, which I believe is painted cast iron because of its weight. The metal has rust throughout and the top wooden part of the desk does have some movement. It appears the connecting bar underneath has snapped and will need to be soldered. But overall, this little school desk looks nice, even the way it is. The wood is still in great shape. Hard to come by one like this. Antique adjustable cast iron and wood diminutive child's school desk chair. Cast iron base with wood seat and back rest. Appears to be in fair. Used condition. Wear and patina to all surfaces. The wood seat and backrest show some mild splitting. The adjustable cast iron base would make a great side table base if the seat were replaced with a table top. Approximate measurements are as follows: 16 1/4" maximum height from floor to top of seat- 12 1/2" minimum height from floor to top of seat- seat measures 15" wide x 12" deep- back rest height is 14 3/4" from top of seat. This is a beautiful antique B.L. Marble chair company desk/bankers chair. It is in really nice shape it has a few mark as you can see from the pictures. The seat has one crack and u you can see the age and some marks around the screws. But it still looks great. It is really comfortable too and very sturdy. As you can see from the pictures it has really awesome cast iron hard ware under the seat, there is a knob that's unique looking, it does turn it is hard to turn it though. I can not figure out how to move the seat up and down though I'm not sure if that's working properly or not. It does come apart and the canisters come off as well. It has the B.L. For auction is this beautiful inkwell desk stand with three matching Glass inkwells with brass hinged covers. The base measures 11 x 7 inches. It has four wooden bun feet and is marked on the bottom with an imprinted trademark stamp. I can't make out all the writing on the mark but I have included a photo and am hoping someone will recognize the mark. There are three square glass beveled edge inkwells included in the set. The largest one measures 1 7/8 inches square and is 2 3/4 inches tall to the top of the hinged lid. It sits inside a brass holder mounted to a Removable glass base that fits inside a recessed insert on the stand. There is some discoloring to the wood under the glass but it is only noticeable when removed. The base is one piece attaching the seat to the desktop and painted red. The desktop is wood and flips open to a storage area for books and supplies. The top contains an ink-well hole and pencil trays There is a bracket under the desktop that flips down to make the top flat. See pics) The seat is wood framed by metal. The seat is 13 inches from the floor and the underside of the desktop is 17 inches from the floor. The desktop working space is 24x18 inches. This is a stunning antique 19th century handmade wooden traveling writing desk box. the box has a beautiful dark color wood with a strong grain and has nice inlaid pieces of mother of pearl. the lid opens and closes on hinges and locks with a key in the front. it is missing the key but takes a generic skeleton key. under the lid is a storage area and is used to write on. it has a beautiful brass locking mechanism that works nicely and the outside is covered with maroon velour. the bottom part has many storage compartments and two glass inkwells that are original to the box. they are made from glass with silver-plated lids. the box measures 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches by 3 inches tall. it has normal ware and tare from age. but overall in nice antique condition. refer to all pictures. the storage area could be missing some pieces but not ... moresure.
