Condition: Used Location: Des Moines, United States Norman Bel Geddes 1930's Modern/Industrial/Machine Age/Art Deco Design Metal Desk/ Vanity with Stool Green& White Pastel Colors These rock solid ... morepieces were acquired by me several years ago. They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. Its former botanical name was Toona Australis now Toona Ciliata. It is a timber rich in virtues. Scented, soft to the touch, easy to work, resistant to insect and fungal attack, it was the preferred timber for the cabinet making industry until the last of the great stands of trees were cut down at the turn of the century. This is one of the nicest examples of a clerks desk i have seen. It is in excellent condition with the kind of patination that you would expect from 140 years of use. Antique Mission Oak Library Desk I can find no markings on this except a#17 in pencil in the drawer slide and a# 17 in pencil in the drawer. I assume they did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of ... morea quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. The outside drawers are slightly larger and have nice original butterfly pulls. The 2 center drawers have simpler. But very decorative pulls. The ends and back are also raised panels. The vertical frame between the drawers and the stepped stretcher below the drawers have a molded detail which carries down the inside of the legs. There is a Lattice footrest between the legs. So small that it is difficult to photograph(last photo) I really do not know what to call the style, but I do know this is a quality item. Note inner most likely brass trim surrounded by what is presumably satin. While the item looks like it might include inlay decoration, the decorative work is instead hand carving. Haller and Kienzle merged into one company uniting under the name Kienzle. This clock is from the first decade of the 1900's. It's is in an excellent functioning condition and it comes in solid metal! Having a windable movement which is running great. The alarm also works perfectly by means of a large bell on top of the clock. It is very clear and sounds like it left the shop yesterday. On top of the bell you find a carriage handle. The paper dial looks very good and there is a separate second hand and alarm hand. The scale on the dial showing the present time has Arabic numbers; the scales at the second and alarm hands are also in Arabic numbers. Vintage Antique Retro Desk Table Lamp and Art Deco Tape Dispenser
Here is a really nice desk set for your home or office Vintage Desk Lamp and Art Deco Tape Dispenser I found this great old lamp and tape dispenser in a yard sale and had to bring them back to life. Cleaning these items and giving them a new paint job was an act of love. I am not certain that these pictures do the colors justice. The base of the lamp and the upright arm are black. The lamp cover and tape dispenser are both fire engine red. All of the electrical parts. Cord and plug are new. The tape dispenser is cast iron and weighs in at just under 7 pounds. The lamp base and arm are also cast iron and the total weight for the lamp is just a bit under 4 pounds. Add some packaging and a box to this and we are looking at a shipping weight around 15 pounds. This unique piece started it's life in 1944 as a dangerous Ultra Voilet Healing Lamp. Turns out. All it does is increase your chance of getting skin cancer. Made by Sun Kraft in Chicago. This piece has been converted to a regular lamp so you can safely light your desk or work area without fear of those dangerous UV rays. All the original wiring has been reused as it is in very good condition and safe to operate. The original switch has also been retained. The switch has a 6 minute timer. As well as a hold setting to the far right. The timer is sticking. Though it's possible it will loosen up with some use. This lamp measures 24 inches tall when the arms ... moreare at maximum extension. When folded down. It's 16 inches tall. The diameter of the base is about 7.5 inches.
