Vintage Brass School Teachers Hand Bell Wood Handle Desk Bell Teacher Antique
Small Antique Brass Scool Bell This is an unusually small size of a brass school bell. Probably used at a desk, rather than in a school yard. It measures 6" tall x 2 3/4" wide across the base. It has a nicely tiered black wooden handle with a brass tip on top and brass collar. There is a small crack in the collar where the handle meets the bell. But the handle will still be tight just by turning it, and holding the clapper inside at the same time. The brass has a wonderful dark patina which only comes with age. The original iron clapper is fully intact. This has a wonderful ring to it. And certainly brings back old school memories! Shipping to the USA is FREE! Shipping within Canada is based on postal code. Antique Oak Chautaugua Industrial Art Desk with Matching Bench School Learning
Antique oak Lewis and Myers school desk/learning center. Dated 1923 and manufactured in Valparaiso. Indiana. I also have the accompanying seat that completes this set. The top of the desk features an American Resources Map with area, population, mining, and manufacturing. From what I can tell the paper is cloth, somewhat distressed with a few minor stains. Top measures 21 1/2"X 17 1/4" Unopened height is 26 1/2" tall and stands on 2 adjustable legs that are adjusted by thumb screws. The desk also features a slide out drawer, desk top also slides rear-ward to reveal yet another desk top. The first top with map and sliding top is removable or locked in place with a sliding pin to lock in place. The Oak bench measures 15 1/4" in length by 7 1/2" in width, and is also adjustable in height styled exactly like the desk ... morewith thumb screw type adjustment. In the full up position it measures 14" full down position is approx. 10" in height. When the top is opened it reveals operating instructions for each child, shelf type compartments on both sides and a compartment in the center for writing materials I would guess. Atop the opened shelf area, or what would be the underside of the sliding desk top is cloth paper with the name"The Chautaugua Industrial Art Desk" a plan to promote the culture of work and play among children in the home" with a scenic lake front and boats in the backround. This cloth paper has various lessons which are printed on rollers. The first illustration is line drawings, various shapes and sizes.It is copyrighted 1913 by the Powers and Myers Co. The second illustration is of various animals, shadow style, blocks and circles, also shadow style. The third is a short illustration of the 3 bears story, an apple, hen on nest, pearl necklace, basket a woven rug and the procedure to complete. This is one Antique School Desk made by the A. H. Andrews& Co. of Chicago. It is a number 4 desk which is marked in the leg castings along with patent dates of June 6. 1866; February 21, 1871 and June 8, 1875. It measures 21" wide x 30" long when opened x 28" high. The desk top is maple and the fold down seat is alternating maple and walnut. The beautiful cast iron legs have a Gothic tracery on each side.

Heywood Wakefield Antique School Desk - Wood and Iron are in great shape for age
Desktop has a small line of yellow paint that can probably be buffed out but I don't want to ruin this piece by incorrectly restoring it. Seat has a small area that appears to have been taped several time- this also will likely rub out with the right process but I am not comfortable restoring it. This is a very cool piece that can add character to just about any room. I am also including a small wooden replica that I happened to find. This is a wonderful gift set for an educator.

Beautiful Antique Wooden School Desk
Hello. I'm selling my desk because I have a bigger one now. This is a turn of the century school desk with a one-piece hardwood top and iron legs. It's suitable for a smaller apartment or room. It is 28 inches high. And the wooden top is 18 deep by 30 inches across. The flat top has a lip of about half an inch high at the back of it. The desk is steady and sturdy. Quite heavy for such a small thing. It is excellent quality and has a romantic vintage feel. The wood on top is in good condition and it just needs a little oil every once in a while to keep it that way. Perfect for a small desk. Table for plants, books, vases, as a side table in an office or home. The buyer must pay cash and come ready to move it. Hello.I have a antique Amish Pennsylvania Dutch children's school desk up for your consideration today and being modeled by my beautiful niece Haley.It was manufactured in Lancaster.PA. and purchased by a friend while shopping in Lancaster for antiques around 25 years ago.It is a very well built desk made from local hard woods incorporating I believe mortise and tenon pegged joinery for the legs, and tung and grove on the table top and seat helping to insure and continue its longevity.Those craftsmen gave you a lot back in the day.I have this chair listed as being built around the 1930 to 1940 but it may very well be much older! The desk and chair have the usual ware that all school desks have, like some writing and scratches and even a few nicks from the school children themselves, but that is to be expected and even considered desirable ... morepatina in today's market! As a note the center board on the chair seat is a little lose as it has probably been for the last 50 yrs.or so but with this construction method I don't believe is going anywhere and should be just fine.And also is missing the left leg cross brace but remains very sturdy and hard to notice.The desk measures 24" wide at the table top x 18 1/4" deep x 26 1/2" high.No shipping on this item. Antique All Wood Two Seater Tall School Desk
I've done this for 30 plus years and have never run across a school desk like this before. It's a two seater. Or possibly three small children, more than likely from a one room schoolhouse around the turn-of-the-century. I think the wood is Ash or Chestnut, but not positive. The top and the seat is pegged to the base. There are screws holding the seat to the back support. It is absolutely wonderful. It measures 47" long by 37" wide and 38" tall. Up for auction is a very cool. Very old antique school desk. The desk is adjustable in many different ways. The top desk portion actually tilts. The desk can be raised also to different heights with a metal bar underneath that has two positions. The bar on the back of the chair also can be raised and lowered for proper back support. The writing desk portion also slides back and forth to get closer or farther from the child sitting in the chair. There is a nice drawer under the chair. This is an amazing piece of work- very mechanical and advanced for its time. The seat height is approximately 12.5 inches high off the ground- approximately 24 3/4 inches to the top of the back of the seat. Writing desk portion is 15 by 20 inches and tilts from 4 to 6 inches. This is the sweetest little desk ever! Measures 25" wide x 19" tall at back splash x 14 1/2" deep. The desk is dark oak with a leather top middle section. When next section is opened it has 2 black boards and when opened again has a drawer type well for books etc. The desk is sturdy and not rickety. Has a pencil groove along the top and we are including an old eraser. The old metal hinges still work well. Has sweet little mortised legs with curved feet. Nice details all over this desk. Up for bid is a very nice Antique School Desk. This is a small one only 24 inches tall and is in excellent condition. It comes with the original ink well cover which is extremely rare! There is a lot of markings on the cast iron frame which include"Grand Rapids Mich. Pat. Sep 22, 1885" 5" 5 or 6R" Due to it's size I took the desk apart so shipping could be affordable. Only 6 screws took this desk completely apart so it will be very simple to put back together. While taking it apart the seat separated at one of the seams. I glued it back together and it shouldn't be an issue. If you just want the cast iron frames I can ship just them for you at a lower cost.
