Excellent Antique Oak Half Curio Cabinet Half Secretary PICK UP ONLY
This antique oak half curio cabinet half secretary is in great condition! It is approximately 100 years old. There is no documentation we just know that is has been in the family for 3 generations. With no documentation all the information I have is based on family stories. It is the original finish and the only marring is on one foot(shown in picture) The back appears to have one patch and the mirror is re-enforced(I do not know if that was done originally or later) Also there is some type of packing material visible on the back where the secretary and the curio meet. The curio cabinet is a curved door with adjustable shelves. This is the original glass! The secretary portion has the original mirror and carvings around the mirror. It has a drop down desk and slots for letters and pens behind the drop down portion. There are three drawers ... moreunderneath the desk. The bottom one curves slightly out and the top two are flat surfaced. There is an ink stain in the top drawer(shown in picture) It measures 70" tall. 36" long, and 12" wide. Here is a fantastic original circa late 1700's English solid oak desk with gorgeous figured mahogany. The mahogany may have been added at a later date such as the early 1800's when mahogany became more popular and more readily available. The pigeon hole interior has a unique look and design with lots of extra added details as well as a well interior below the writing surface which simply slides open. The interior is solid oak.some beautiful quartersawn and this slant front will lock with a replaced lock and key. Hinges are heavy iron and original. The top drawer is a false drawer and then the 2 over 3 drawers are all graduated. All of the drawers inside and out are hand dovetailed as shown. It works fine on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works fine on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. The piece is numbered with"172" carved into the wood inside the large storage area under the desk top. The original paper work is still attached to the back of the piece giving care instructions and stating that it was made in the LARKIN plant#

Antique Oak Secretary/ Secretariat w/Glass front Hutch Cabinet & Front Drop Desk
Antique Circa 1890’s Oak Secretary– Secretariat with a glass front Hutch Cabinet and front drop desk. It is wonderfully Crafted using solid quarter saw oak. Its elegant hand carved ribbon and floral edging motif with a candle shelf and beveled glass mirror are an eye catcher. The cabinet is designed with five shelves; four of them are adjustable with the bottom stationary. The secretariat section is designed with a drop/ pulls down desk top. One drawer and a lower cabinet. The inside of the desk has a multi wooden slot organizer. It measures 69” high x 13 ¾” deep x 39 ¾” wide. All the doors and one drawer maintain their original locks. It is missing three of its front lock plates. The one drawer does have its original hardware. Two handles and one lock face. It maintains a warm aged oak finish. There does appear to be some ware ... moreto its finish with a few scratch marks to the one side. The other side panel does have some kind of writing on it. I believe this can be cleaned up. I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite like it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. Antique tiger oak secretary buffet curio cabinet from the late 1900's in nice antique condition with very minor blemishes and has all the original hardware and glass in front of curio area. My dad squires this many years ago and did some minor restoration and had four glass shelves cut to fit it has two if the original wooden shelves and two that looks like we're cut for it later because they do not match and do not fit correctly. 1920's Antique Mission Solid Quartersawn Oak Folding Secretary Desk
On offer is a classic antique Mission or Arts&Crafts secretary desk. This desk was purchased for considerably more money in 2005. It is in need of some repair. Which could be done relative easily, but is nevertheless which is why I am asking much less than purchase price. The rear right leg is wobbly and needs reinforcement. I added a steel bracket on to stabilize it a few years ago, but it was neither an attractive nor particularly stable solution. Also the top does not close flush because the hinges have been attached incorrectly and need to be moved(as simple as drilling two new holes and puttying over the old ones) On the plus side, the quarter sawn oak is really beautiful, the tiger oak pattern is exactly what you'd want in this kind of piece. Hello. Here's a great old project desk. OAK SECRETARY DESK! It measures: 41" Tall in the back. The desk to is approx 28" off floor, 30 3/4" Wide x 14" Deep, with 2 3/4" deep Drawers. It's very solid& quite attractive despite is custom huumm paint job. It looks like pretty OAK underneath. Just needs some elbow grease to bring it back out. It needs work but it's not all hammered up, doesn't look like it's been abused(except for paint) I have no keys to it, unknown if locks work properly.
