A magnificent library or conference table Dimensions 12 feet long by 53 inches wide. Six legs. 35 inches tall. Construction Oak finish; geometric pattern on legs and below table rim. The underside of the table reveals solid wood construction throughout. Using dimensional lumber; that, plus the style, suggests an early 20th century date, but we are not experts. Condition Very good to excellent. With no stains on the finish. There are small nicks and chips on the leg detailing. Missing one one-inch by seven-inch piece of trim on one leg. ANTIQUE c1915 FRENCH ENGLISH OAK LIBRARY ENTRY TABLE BARLEY TWIST CANE INSET
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Antique library/entry table! This stunning, French or English inspired table, manufactured by the Knoxville Chair and Table Company dates to around 1915. It features French Country design with quarter sawn oak plank top, barley twist legs, and cane insets in the skirted sections. The oak ranges from golden to dark and the graining is exceptional. The table has a single large drawer on the front side with original, ornate, teardrop pulls. The sides and the back of the table repeat the skirted and cane inset design so the table is beautiful from every angle. The bottom of the table features braced legs and center stretcher bar. The table has the original flat screws and bolts still intact. The manufacturer's sticker is fixed inside the drawer and a partial sticker is still attached under the table ... moretop. The Knoxville Chair Company, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was founded in 1901 and closed in 1935. This table predates their"Art Deco" pieces which were much more modern looking. The table is in very good condition with very little signs of age or use. There is one hole in one of the cane sections(see photo 6) It is very hard to discern and certainly does not distract from the table. The table top is in good condition. There is one ring where a vase or something sat, but, because of the grain pattern, it is not glaring or distracting. The table has a more"oiled" finish as opposed to a varnished finish. The 12 drawers offer lots of storage possibilities. But for me it's all about the style& décor. Nothing looks so awesome, authentic and enriching as these old office furnishings, with all their details of incredible quartersawn joinery& cast, aged brass. This is a nice piece of fine American Oak. These were the file cabinets of their day. But to make such a thing now would be an immense extravagance. And you can't fake this kind of character and lived-in feel of a fine old piece like this. But of course you can adapt card-file cabinets to hold every sort of smallish thing in very organized grids of drawers. The Tiger-Oak is awesome. This kind of dense. Spectacularly ... morefigured old growth White Oak is virtually extinct, if you found one of these ancient trees that were once ubiquitous in the Eastern Woodlands, it should be preserved as among the very last individuals of their kind. The hardware is all nicely sculptured cast brass and not thin stamped sheet. A very convincing piece, and very well made by one of the premier makers during the age of the gorgeous golden-oak offices& stores that we all pine for. The size of this one is great for an end-table. And it's gorgeously paneled on all sides so its meant to be freestanding and beautiful from every angle. Drawers are nicely dovetailed, finish is in decent shape overall, certainly very livable& lovable. Measures overall about 24-3/8" high. 30" wide& 15-7/8" deep. Drawers look all the same, we measured a sample to be on the outside about 5-1/2" high, 8-5/8" wide& 14" deep. Inside the drawers measure about 4-1/4" high, 8" wide& 12" deep. As usually. Circa 1850. The table features a stunning rich oak colour. The tabletop features a lovely oak thumb moulded edge with bull nose corners which surrounds professional fitted new three-piece green. Gilt& blind tool leather. Below. There are three working moulded drawers to each side of the table. On one side. There is a large compartmentalized central drawer. All drawers feature working locks and keys and the original brass key escutcheons. The drawers are hand dovetailed and constructed with oak(a sign of good quality) Below the drawers sits a lovely moulded lip edge. The table sits on four lovely baluster shaped oak legs. The legs feature the original brass castor tip collars and original brass castors. This type of table was designed to stand in the centre of a room so that the three working drawers each side was accessible. This table has beautiful quarter sawn tiger oak wood. It measures 36" X 24" and stands 29.5" tall. This table has a manufacturer stamp in the drawer by its maker. The Brandt Cabinet Works, Hagerstown, Maryland. The pedestal supports are smooth lined. It is a family heirloom, belonging to my grandparents. They had many oak pieces, but I believe this was probably one of the finer. My mother& I are in the process of combining two homes and just can't keep everything. Please look at the photos. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL antique table. This is a stunning table with intricate carved details. The table is a fine example of Moorish Fretwork and. According to a published expert in this field, was probably made by Moses Younglove Ransom in Cleveland or Frederick Rode in New York City. The table is oak with a quarter sawn. Plank top and carved, twist trim. The table has turned legs with an interesting, repeated pattern. The feet are rounded and nondescript. The table features a very beautiful, rare, double stretcher. The stretchers have turned wood, stick and ball style, supports that lead to a square accent of barley twist(spiral) spindles that are woven together. This is an intricate design and is superbly achieved. The table is old and dates to the around 1885. There are no manufacturer's marks or stamps. The table ... moreis in very good condition with only minor signs of age or use. There is a circular water ring on the table top that is not too distracting. One of planks of the table top has separated from shrinkage/age and there is a space. It does not affect the table in any manner. The table is sturdy with a normal amount of slight movement. This is a fabulous table of unique design. On April 19. A wonderful ebay member contributed the following: I've only seen a couple of these tables before. I own two of them both stained dark and probably mahogany. One is identical to this design and the other only has one of the woven shelves but the legs. are also barley twist. I am mostly convinced that these were made by Moses Younglove Ransom in Cleveland. Ohio. The main reason for this attribution is the tapered spindles used in the woven shelves. I have seen these identical spindles used in stairway balustrades that I believe were made by the C.S.Ransom Company. I found several of these tables in Cleveland antique stores that also had good collections of Ransom's Moorish Fretwork screens, where I bought one of mine. This beautiful old table is solid and extra-long. Based on its construction, I’m guessing that it’s around 100 years old. I have found no identifying marks. Overall Dimensions: 95 ¾” x 41 ½” x 30” L x W x H) Table Top: 93” x 39 ½” Distance from floor to bottom of the frame: 24 ½” Weight: 163 lbs. Each of the 4 massive legs is made up of 3 or 4 pieces that were glued together before being turned. The leg diameter about halfway up is 4 ¾” And the foot diameter is 5 ¼” There are a few scratches on the top. As you would expect to find on a table that was used for decades. The frame of the table has been repaired in a couple of places, and near one ... morecorner, glue is visible along the outside of the lower edge(see photo#6) There are a few vertical“stripes” around the perimeter, where dark stain ran down the sides. Two of the boards that make up the table top have separated slightly near one end, and the separation extends for a little more than a foot. Each leg is secured by a single square nut. Antique Victorian 1/4 Sawn Oak Library Table with Impressive Legs
Table measures 30 inches high and the top is 44 by 26. Flower wood appliqué on corners. Legs are a fancy spiral that ends in an impressive scalloped ball then a smaller. Smooth ball which holds the metal caster with wood wheel. Photo with soda can for size perspective. One drawer, measures 21 inch across has a brass pull. Top, shelf and drawer face are 1/4 sawn oak. There is a slight discoloration on table top. See photo. Finish is in good condition with a rich, warm patina. We purchased this table with this finish. Perfect table for a foyer or anywhere you want to have an impressive accent table. We have enjoyed this table but have to send it to a new home, due to downsizing.

This is a solid oak library table. With no veneer, no plywood. It measures approximately 42" x 26" x 29" high. The drawer measures approximately 22" x 21" It was made by the Wolverine Manufacturing Co. Detroit, Michigan which was organized in 1887. There are a couple of water stains on the stretcher base where some flower pots leaked. Very good looking piece. A beautifully carved antique. Circa 1890's, Renaissance Revival quartersawn oak petite library table. The front two drawers have prominent north wind type pulls, the reverse with a faux north wind. The legs are partial spiral carved, with baluster cross stretchers, the bun feet on casters. It measures 31-1/2" tall by 42" wide by 28" deep. Very good condition: original finish, carvings and case without chips or cracks. There are three top boards, one of which has a butt joint separation to the other two, and with varnish chipping along that line, some minor stains or a ring spot to the top. Drawer interiors in plain maple, the bottoms chamfered.

Circa 1890 Carved oak Two drawers Very minor wear to top Excellent overall condition Sturdy, Here we have a really amazing Victorian carved antique writing desk done in oak with a leather writing surface. It is an English antique that was originally made around 1890 featuring barley twist legs and stretcher. It is hard to believe all of the wonderful carved features in this writing desk. Each of the four sides is meticulously carved to great detail. These carvings are the most prominent feature of ... morethe desk. The next thing your eye is drawn to are the barley twist turned legs and stretcher. Using a stretcher between the legs allows the heavy desk to remain sturdy even after all these years. The table top is finished with a nice black leather that has gold tooling. This leather is not the original desk leather. The front of the desk has two drawers that work easily. Their handles are part of the carvings on the drawer fronts. The fully finished and carved back has two faux drawers so it looks just like the front. This antique writing desk is really in excellent condition. It is sturdy and strong and we did not find any repairs or breaks on the carvings. The black leather is near perfect. The table top around the edges shows some old minor signs of wear(tiny dents here and there as you would expect to see) Otherwise this desk has stood the test of time remarkably well and would go great in a variety of surroundings. The measurements from the floor to the bottom of the piece is 22″ A beautiful antique writing desk for any room! A very well turned barley twist stretcher supports the legs.
