Swivels and is on casters. This chair is in excellent condition with some minor chips along the left edge of the backrest and a small dark spot on the seat. There are a couple of places where the bolts/ screws need tightening. There are no splits or repairs to the wood. The base was removed at some point. Possibly at the time the chair may have been refinished. I’m not sure. When the base was reattached, new holes were used right in front of the original ones and unoriginal screws were used. There are also about 4 small holes in the seat bottom, 2 on each side. I don’t know what this was for. The seat is about 17 inches from the ground. The backrest is about 40 inches high. This chair was removed from a storage unit filled with the inventory from a New Hampshire antique shop. This is the last piece of oak furniture from the storage. The pieces were all in beautiful condition and excellent quality. Located in Irvine. CA. Pick up is free. Due to size, this chair will have special freight requirements. I can unscrew the base to make it smaller, but it will still be large.

Vintage 1940 WWII Era Tin Litho USA Patriotic Desk Clock Statue of Liberty
This is a Vintage 1940 WWII Era Tin Litho USA Patriotic"Gold Bless America" Desk or Mantle Clock with US Map background and Statue of Liberty foreground. This was an electric clock with cord. As found the clock is NOT working and the hour hand is missing. It is being sold as found/ as seen/ as described for display or repair ONLY. Please review the Condition section below for additonal information. The clock is marked"COPYRIGHT 1940. MADE IN USA" as seen in a closeup photo. The copyright date indicates the clock was probably made as a patriotic item after the start of World War II but before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the US entry into the war. The frame of the steel clock appears to be die stamped or similar. It has a 7 3/8" base and it is 5 1/8" tall. The total maximim depth is about 3" including ... morethe small metal tab/ foot on the bottom that allows the clock to stand securely in an easel/ tripod fashion. The clock has great period graphics and colors with the outline of the US. A numbered star at each hour position and a nicely rendered Statue of Liberty. This piece would be a great addition to any collection of WWII memorabilia. Condition Mechanical/ Electrical As stated above: This was an electric clock with cord. As found the clock is NOT working and the hour hand is missing. It is being sold as found/ as seen/ as described for display or repair ONLY. Offered. An awesome vintage 1940's-60's era black gooseneck desk lamp. It has metal shade with cutouts, brass color metal gooseneck and accents. It takes a 40 watt 120v light-included in sale, and it works great. There is a push switch on the base. It measures approx. 5 3/4" across the base, 14 1/2" neck, 8" x 4 3/4" shade. There may be a maker mark under the felt. Condition is very good VINTAGE with some marks and normal wear and it appears to be missing the finial that goes on the end of the cone shade. 1940's Shabby Chic Desk
I have a 1940's desk for sale. This desk is priced to sell quickly! The dimensions are 30" tall. 22" deep, and 44" wide. The drawers are dovetailed and slide very easily. The hardware is all original and in mint condition. This desk was purchased new by my parents. It has two beautiful coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint(Provence) was distressed, and finally waxed with both dark and light wax. You will not be disappointed in this fine piece of furniture. I am not sure of the wood, but the desk is very heavy. They do not make solid desks like this one any more! Mark

1940's US Military Trunk Field Desk with Period Shipping Labels WWII Era
1940's US military trunk field desk with period WWII era shipping labels. Really great piece of history in great used condition with all the wear& tear you would expect from a field desk. Somewhere during it's life. Someone varnished the exterior to preserve the shipping labels. Perfect size for an end table, just add a base and since it opens from the side, you have easy access for functional storage without having to remove lamp ect from the top to open. Measures 20 1/2" wide, 15 1/2" deep and 14 1/2 tall. The leather handles are still in tact and in good condition. The interior is nice, the shelves are missing. Great display conversational piece.

Up for bid NEAT OLD ZEPHYR AIRKOOLER ELECTRIC FAN. Definitely needs some TLC. Covered with dust etc. This fan was tested and working. But it needs rewired before used the cord was cut and is in bad shape But the fan itself is in good shape! It's a bit dirty but this doesnt take away from the quality of the piece. This Desk lamp is all bakelite and has a pen holder and 2 coin/trinket trays. This wonderful lamp includes a new energy saving flourescent bulb. The lamp works great! The on/off switch works well and the bakelite is in great condition. There are only a couple of condition issues. The Lamp shade is connected to the base with a metal bar. The bar has some very minor rust(see last photo) The second item is the top of the base. Vintage 1940's microphone desk stand American universal old antique RARE
Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare 1940's era 3 tier waterfall desk stand made by Eastern Manufacturing. It's a thick cast iron base which is perfect for any vintage microphone and looks quite beautiful. The iron base is free of rust and shows little wear. The chrome stem is in fantastic shape and the tube itself is 6 inches tall. The cast iron base is 5 1/2 inches wide X 1 1/2 inches tall. It's got some good weight to it as they didn't mess around back in the 1930's& 40's. Built in America and built to last. I've never seen one of these stands before and probably never will again. For your consideration is this vintage Westclox Oracle electric clock. from 1947. It is the Westclox model S-6-E. and is made of amber glass and brass. The brass could use some polishing. But it is hard to find them with no damage to the glass. Unfortunately, it is not running. The cord is in good shape and I plugged it in, but nothing happened. Cord is 5' 5" long.all good. Stands 11 1/4 inches high. Since it swings all the way up and a hole in the back I figure it's for hanging on the wall.or keep on the desk. The color might be an aqua-green, Model 2004. 110-120 V.A.C. 60 cycles, 30 watts. There is no switch for fan control. Just plug it in and it runs, very quietly. Please check all photos. As some damage on the base, and the metal casing around the fan is"rusty"not very safe looking.

Ivory and Gold 1940's Monophone Desk Phone
This is an Automatic Electric model 40 desk phone that was made in the 1940's. You can find these in black all day long but the colored ones are hard to come by. This one comes in ivory with gold plated trim. There are a few small nicks and some light scratches but NO chips or cracks. There is also some yellowing that is common with this color. The phone does come with a modular line cord that was on the phone when I got it. It does dial out and receive calls but the bells are not wired to ring but are there.

Vintage 1940's RCA 88-A microphone w desk stand old RARE midcentury antique
Hello. Let me start by telling you that I recently purchased this RCA 88-A on a gamble as the seller didn't know if it worked? This microphone needed a good cleaning as well and a 1/4 inch connector as the original attachment was not useable. That being said I was told that this particular microphone is a"Pressure microphone" and belonged to an engineer who worked at C.B.S many years ago. This would explain the engraving on the mic itself. This somewhat rare and very unique microphone comes with it's original stand and this microphone does work. very well I might add. It has a strong clear signal and while there is cracking in the original 4 foot cable.this in no way affects the performance of the microphone. The cable still works very well and is soft and pliable. it has several years left on her. The original paint shows ... moresigns of wear but overall very attractive. The metal screen shows a few dents but nothing major. Like the entire setup it blends in really. Microphone stand has that deco streamline styling that sets the RCA brand apart from so many of the others from over the years. The cast iron stand is very heavy and in very good condition. The satin chrome on the base looks amazing and the stem is equally nice but missing a screw used for tightening the swivel ball. it should be noted that while the screw is missing.it is certainly not needed as there is more than enough tension on the joint that moving the microphone at any angle take a bit of effort. it certainly isn't going to move on it's own. The origian RCA label is still on the bottom and most of the original paint is still present with just a few nicks here and there. The original felt padding was gone so I replaced it with 5 pads that work very well. I used a vintage 1940's era 1/4 inch connector to keep the microphone as vintage as possible. it works excellent and it was professionally soldered by myself. Vintage Wood Sailing Ships Perpetual Desk Calendar 1930's Early-1940's
This auction is for a v intage Perpetual Calendar with clipper ships or sailboat designs made by I believe possibly Syracuse Ornamental Company.But not sure as it has no MFG markings.I think the base is made of a molded wood pulp type wood. I believe this item to be circa 1930's early1940's era. The wood patina does show wear(see photos)I think a little furniture polish would bring back some of the patina. The date and month cards are made of heavier card paper type stock. Printed on both sides and in about good condition. The card holder has anchored on each end by clipper ships or sailboats and tied together with a sea shell design in the center. The back of this piece is decorative as is the front. This solid walnut desk/podium/stand is both useful and practical for many areas including home and office. I am not sure of the age but my opinion is from the 1940's-1960's. It is solid and sturdy in construction. It is in great original found condition. The wood finish is original wth a great patina. The top surface slants at a angle so that whatever is displayed is easily noticable. And there is also a"catch all" strip of wood that runs parrallel to the lower side of the slanted top(see picture 4) The legs are turned and accent the piece. There are rubber castors on each leg. Vintage 1940's era Pineapple microphone desk stand old antique midcentury used
Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. I have had several requests to sell these older stands with microphones listed so here is a rare stand available for sale. MICROPHONE SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE AND USED FOR SCALING PURPOSES ONLY. You are looking at an older cast iron stand from the late 1930's to 1940's era. This model has no maker mark but I have seen a few of these over the years. The early cast iron American stand rarely had much to go other than the overall design. Only later around the 1950's on did the few manufacturers left all begin to label their stands with number and logo's. The black cast iron base is free of any rust or dents. The original black paint has held up pretty well with typical chips in the paint and the bottom of the base is free of rust. There appears to be 4 pads located at the contact ... morepoints but I'm not sure if they are original or added later at some point in time? The dimensions of this stand are 5 inches wide X 8 inches tall. I used a Turner CX in pic# 1 to give an idea of the scale. This is a heavy cast iron base and not easily knocked over. The thread size is 5/8/ universal and will fit any American microphone that screws on to a stand. This is a chance to get that perfect older stand for your favorite vintage microphone. Up for auction is this beautiful wood Typewriter desk with convertible shelf and an Antique Underwood Typewriter. These two items came from my Grandmothers Estate. She used the typewriter clear up till around 1998ish because her handwriting was so shaky and her vision was not so good. Based on what the relatives think. We believe that she had acquired these items sometime in the 40's. May need cleaning and oiled. Hasn't been used in a long time. The desk is solid but it is appears to have UV Fading and some nicks and wear from being moved from one relatives home to another. Have its original handles. Has 6 drawers 2 of them have a wood divider for files. There is a pull out shelf on each side just above the drawers. The Typewriter sits on a wood shelf that has a wood block behind it to hold in place. Beautiful original condition leather topped Mid Century Modern late 1940's Edward Wormley for Dunbar desk. The color is a dark shade of green that almost looks bluish. Please enlarge each photo and inspect the many areas of wear. Slight peeling of leather top on the sides. Abrasions along the corners and edges. Knicks and bumps here and there. Tested& Guaranteed to Work and Ring This is an early Pre War 1940 metal Western Electric 302 telephone desk set. It is a well marked telephone with 1940 dates. The network is II-40 which means 2 th Quarter 1940 and the metal frame is marked 5-40 which means it was made in May 1940. The ringer is also marked 9-40 and the 5H dial is dated II-40 for 2 nd quarter 1940. This phone has been powder coated gloss black and it has a beautiful rich shine. The handset is an F1 and is marked; BELL SYSTEM MADE BY WESTERN ELECTRIC COMPANY F1 The receiver element is dated 3-22-40. The transmitter element is dated 6-40. The 5H dial is dated II-40 or 2 nd quarter 1940 ... moreand has been lightly oiled. It is in very good shape. The polished number card holder has a number card which reads: Wait FOR DIAL TONE The four foot pads are felt and are in good shape. The brown line is new but it is cloth just like the original and has a modular jack on the end. Just plug it into a stand wall outlet and you have a working phone. The receiver cord is also new and made just like the original cord. When the phone rings the matching 41A and 41B polished brass bells produce rich clear tones. The metal body of the phone makes it heavier than the plastic version of this phone so it doesn’t move around on the table when dialing. This phone has been thoroughly cleaned and tested and provides excellent transmission quality when making or receiving calls. This phone is guaranteed to work. It has a modular cord so just plug it in and begin calling and receiving calls. These phones were built to last; it has been around for 70 years and works great. This is a gorgeous vintage SOLID wood desk. Yes it is made of real wood. Not cheap pressed board. It was also, MADE IN THE USA. Super top quality by Taylor Made of Jamestown Ny Table Co. Dates from approximately the 1940's-50's. Nice large size. The top measures 48" wide x 24" deep. 29.5" high. Kneehole is 20.5" wide and 23.5" high. This has 8 drawers, four on one side, 3 on the other. One drawer is a double deep one. There is one center drawer, which has a lock, but alas, no key. All drawers are dovetailed. The drawers have vintage brass hardware, which has a nice patina. This appears to be original. There is a turned"rope" like decoration around the entire top of the desk. Finish is a brown/red color and is lovely. This is a fabulous piece of furniture, and a great decorative piece. What we have here is a 1950's vintage Western Electric dial. Desk telephone. It has the original dial as well the induction coil + ringer are all from vintage mid 1950's. The phone is in perfect working order with the original ringer functioning just it did the day it came out of the factory box. For sale is a vintage Automatic Electric desk telephone with the dial from the 1940's. It is in very good condition. Not chipped or scrapped. The receiver cord has two spots tapped because of cracks. But it only affects the looks. I have no way to test the phone, but I was able to make a quick test and got dial tone. Shipping to zone 8 from me(Pa to Cal) is $14.20 by Parcel Select.

1940's Sengbusch"Build-Up" Desk Tray For your consideration I am please to offer you this 1940's Sengbusch"Build-Up" Three Tier Desk Tray from the Industrial Age purchased from a local estate sale. Made from precision dies. Designed and engineered for exact interlocking. Made of heavy gauge steel construction. Each tray has an identification label holder at both ends. The No 1 Trays bottom flanges of one tray are interlocked in the No 2 Trays slots. The trays are stamped with Sengbusch No 953 Desk Tray Pat. Applied For. The trays are a gray finish. The three tiers tray measures 12 1/4" wide 9 1/2" tall and 9" deep. The trays do show some cosmetic wear especially due to its age. This tray set is missing two of its four feet. The two feet present are very worn with steel bottoms showing through. This ... moredesk tray came from Continental Steel Corp. A local factory that closed many years ago. Vijntage C 1940's McClintock "Stylist" Art Deco desk clock electric #15D600
Sample from a closed store. This clock was never sold but sat on a shelf for 50+ years. Still original sales tag/warranty. Art Deco face and really neat design shape. Body is either wood or a plastic coated wood? and needs a good cleaning shown as found. Cord is pretty well dry rotted from age. I plugged in and I got nothing. But that could be due to the cord or the need of a good internal cleaning/lube job. Sold as is-neat even if not working see photo. BENTIMA VINTAGE 1940's ART DECO BRASS 8 DAY DESK WIND UP CLOCK GERMANY RUNS WELL
I just puchased this vintage brass Bentima Art Deco shelf or desk clock at a local estate here in Central Virginia. This is a windup clock and the key is attached to the clock mechanism in the back. The clock dates from the 1940's and features the classic lines of the Deco era. The brass has a nice patina and the clock is in good condition as well as the glass covering the face. It is in good working order and keeps time with the hour and minute hands. The only wear seems to be a crack in the plastic cover for the windup mechanism.
