Antique English 18th century Mahogany Bracket Clock c.1780
Fine English 18th century mahogany bracket clock by Daniel Worthington. London c.1780 having a lovely brass dial with silvered engraved chapter ring and sunken cartouche signed Dan. Worthington, London. With rococo spandrels and finely matted dial center. There is a strike/silent dial in the arch and the hands are delicate blued steel. Also featured is a calendar aperture above the 6:00 position. The 8 day movement retains it's original verge and crown wheel escapement with short bob pendulum and strikes the hours on a bell. It also has the hour repeat feature which is activated by a string to the bottom of the case. The fully engraved backplate is outstanding. The original hand made spring driven movement has twin fusees. The bell top case has brass trim to the front door with delicate wood frets to the corners. The case also has canted ... morecorners with brass stop flutes and cast brass finials. The two brass carrying handles are on the side of the case. The highly finished movement can be viewed through glass at the sides and back. The case also has lovely brass bracket feet. The clock comes with a correctly fitting modern winding key and door lock key. It's interesting to note the similarities of this example to clocks made by the famous London maker John Taylor. Including the unusual back cock apron. This may imply some collaboration between the two makers or simply that this clock represents the finest quality and latest fashion available in London at the time. Rare to find Ansonia UNDINE AND GLORIA statue clock. Measures approximately 27" tall x 17" wide. Has an 8 day. Hour and half hour strike, spring driven movement. The dial is porcelain. When I purchased this clock, I cleaned the finish down but did not add any color. The green patina is from the old finish and is spectacular. This is what is really special about this clock. Normally when one goes onto the market, it looks like it was freshly painted with a can of spray. With this clock you get a great old finish with a wonderful patina that is hard to duplicate. This is a Black Face Clock(Supposedly harder to find than the white face ones) It runs for a short while. But has something wrong with the winding mechanism, possible broken spring. It needs some TLC. The case has a bit of rust on it. As can be seen in photos. There is a slight dint in it where I guess it has been dropped. There is a crack in the glass as can be seen in picture. The clock runs for a while then stops as the spring holds no tension. The alarm works fine. Veglia is the same company that makes the gauges for early Ducati's.

Vintage Wooden HAC Mantel Clock Running& Striking very well. This wooden clock was made by the Hamburg American Clock company in Germany and is working extremely well. The best thing about it is the reliable works inside and the amazing cathedral gong which I timed at echoing for more than 20 seconds after striking. Its got a grained wood veneer which has been covered over by some well meaning restorer, hence the spill on the back so it would look even nicer if it was brought back to the original wood. The chrome bezel around the convex glass opens and closes nicely and I like the stylish plinth feet at each end which sets off the Art Deco style. This clock has very few knocks and blemishes commensurate with its age and is extremely tasteful(check out the photos) It chimes out the half hour and counts the hours on that very sonorous cathedral ... moregong It is supplied with key and pendulum bob. If you have been umming and ahhing about buying a clock, here it is, the one you've been waiting for. It is ready to grace your mantel. Approx. 23cm in height. But a massive 41cm wide and 18cm deep. This clock is an Emes German made model which when new had a stunning French polished finish in a beautiful dark colour. For a bit more outlay I would get a French polisher to bring it back to its original look although it still looks a great clock as it is. Large Wooden veneer"OGEE" Shelf Clock with weights. Pendulum and winding key- Running and Striking well. The gorgeous wooden case has a bright veneer in reasonable nick. There are two main damaged spots shown in the photos. The back is a replacement as must be the inside label although it looks for all the world original. But the door is still strong and opens and closes nicely. This one is straight out of the Cowboy movie"High Noon" I reckon. The front glass door has its original picture painting and the dial too is in good nick. Everything else is as you see it too. In good condition indeed for its age. And what looks like the original movement- perfect simplicity- has been cleaned and oiled. That is working very well. Looks great too. It's been a long way since it came out of the factory in the USA over 100 years ... moreago. Zoom in on the HD photos to check it out the normal sort of damage for its age which gives it character. This clock is not only classy it works extremely well with a nice clear single cathedral gong counting out the hours. It is supplied with pendulum and its rope winding key which winds up the two weights over the two cute original little wooden pulleys that sit loosely in the top. These simple OGEE clocks are very reliable running and the clock enthusiast will love watching the poetry of the world's simplest movement as there are no springs. Early 1800s David Straiton Montrose Scottish Longcase Grandfather Clock Complete
Offering this gorgeous early 1800s Scottish longcase grandfather clock made by David Straiton Montrose as signed on the face. David Straiton was active in the 1830s into the 1840s. It stands approximately 7 foot and 1 inches tall to the top of the original brass eagle pediment between the swan necked top which also retains its original brass escutcheons. The case was professionally restored at some point by the estate and had new feet spliced at the rear of the case. The case is clean with little to no damaged veneer. I did briefly set up the clock and it ran for approximately an hour( I did not take the time to level) If you have any questions or need specific photos. This Magnificent designed and Very Large Old German Black Forest Musical 8-day Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) This clock was carved depicting a old mountain Chalet complete with a sharply pitched roof. The clock is very impressive in size with a overall length of 20" from top peak of the bird's wing to bottom of the pendulum and a width of 11" at the widest point. This clock is one of the rare ones completely hand painted and has many eye catching focal points. Starting at the very top is a lovely and colorful Red Breasted bird with wings spread wide. She even has a glass inlaid eye. She is accented on both sides with carved Forest Maple leaves and tree branches. These were hand painted in colorful hues from the forest. The center of the clock has more of the carved and ... morecolorful Maple leaves and branches that completely framed the front(This piece was hand carved from a single piece of wood) Displayed on both sides are two more lovely colorful birds that have there heads turned inwards. The face of the clock is numbered in Roman numerals with hands that are very decorative.The face is marked at the bottom"Germany" The upper peak of the front has two little hinged wooden doors.Below the doors written in a gold metal script is the following"HECO 8-DAY" The door on the right will open on the half hour and hour and the Cuckoo bird will appear. As he bobs up and down with wings flapping. He will coo coo once on the half hour and as many times needed for the hour of the day, on the hour mark. There is also a musical chime that sounds in the background while he is coo cooing. When he is finished coo cooing on the half hour and hour the little door on the left will open and a little German man will appear and one of two lovely old musical tunes will be played in the background. 1880 French Marble Mantel Clock with side Urns
I bought this clock in 2006 for over $10.000 for a Victorian house I owned. The house has been sold, the clock has been in my basement since, as it does not go in the new house. The main clock weighs 80 pounds, the side urns are 10 pounds each. The main clock measures 26 1/2" wide by 18 1/8 high and 5 1/4 deep. The side urns are 14" high X 6" around. A stunning antique one-of-a-kind mantle clock that looks to be custom made from a circa 1760s pocket watch. The clock features a removable pocket watch style clock with ribbed stem resting between two brass fish with spade shaped tails. The clock features an enamel face with Roman numerals. Hand-engraved“Leble London” to inside clock works. The clock is housed in a mantle case comprised of a rectangular structure with four antiqued brass columns which support beveled crystal.
