Antique New Haven Shelf Mantel Clock Pillar Lohengrin Musical Music Box 1888 Vtg
Antique Clock This auction is for a very rare and very nice antique shelf or mantel clock. Very little information on this clock can be found online. But luckily it has the original label on the back that says this is the Lohengrin Musical Clock model made by New Haven Clock Company back in 1888. The clock has a really great floating pillar design and is really a nice looking, ornate piece, but what makes it really special is that it has a very large, well made musical box in the bottom that is would from the front. The music box appears to play when a certain time is passed, but I can’t get it to activate. When I wound it up it started to play right away but I haven’t been able to play it since. Not sure if there is an activation button or what– might even need a little work. The clock itself works great and it has a gong that sounds at ... morethe top of the hour as well. LINDEN WESTMINSTER CUCKOO W. GERMANY CHIME MANTLE CLOCK 2 JEWELS UNADJUSTED This clock looks to be in very good condition with a nice. Smooth wood finish. The key is included along with one small part that was loose inside. The dial has a glass case that opens up. It's marked on the dial with"Linden, Westminster Chime. It may or may not work since I don't know how to operate it. The hands are able to move and the key can turn in the middle hole but doesn't with the other two. There is a small scratch next to the hinge on the left side of the dial. It measures just above 16 1/2 inches long x 4 1/4 in wide x 8 in height. Shipping weight is about 7 lbs. Offered for your consideration is this elegant small Egyptian Revival style desk clock. The case was made by the M.S. Benedict Art Studio about 1916 as part of the"Athenic Bronze" line. The works were made by the Waterbury Clock Company. The clock has an arched shape decorated with embossed scrolls and cameos of Egyptian soldiers. It measures 3 1/2" high and 6" long. The bottom has the maker's trademark and is numbered"1401" The cosmetic condition is very good with only a bit of wear on one of the cameos. The clock is not currently working. Being offered is a great looking original piece. It is marked on the face plate and the inside workings Gustav Germany. There is also markings on the works G B with a crown and anchor and also has P 14. At the bottom it is marked 1000 and there is a K off to the side. Some typical scratches and marks here and there. I think everything is original. This seemed to be working good at the estate auction but now I can not get it to run. I don't know clocks very well so I am wondering if I even have the pendulum set correct. I am going to have to sell it as non working but I am use it is an adjustment or something that I am just missing. This has a nice bevel glass door. The back has problems staying shut but that is an easy fix and if it is level it will stay shut on its own. This has some size and weight. Family heirloom French clock from 1820. Professionally maintained and in perfect working order. Dainty chime. Beautiful ceramic face and original dome glass. Rare wood model with design. It's remarkable that this clock has lasted this many years travelling from person to person. Unfortunately, I have fallen on hard times and can not display this piece as it should be shown. This little black adamantine Sessions clock has a very clean and well finished wooden case which is great condition for its age. As with many of these old ones this one has had some little restoration but this one seems to look as shiny and bright despite the knocks and bumps commensurate with its age which add character and I couldn't find many and it still looks really great. Apart from two very short hairline cracks in the glass the dial looks wonderful and the brass bezel opens and closes well. The other brass embellishments are bright and shiny too. This clock is not only bright it is running well like a Sessions clock and strikes the half hours on a bell and counts out the hours on the hour on the usual resonating cathedral gong. It goes for 8 days or more ... moreafter winding fully and is supplied with key and Sessions pendulum bob. If you have been umming and ahhing about buying a clock. here is an absolutely gorgeous ornately carved solid walnuit kitchen/shelf clock case. it has the original wavy glass but it seems the design has been taken off. as it was probly well faded. the design elements seem to be 1875-1880. there was some sort of top piece with holes.probly had turned dowels or stick and ball ornament and another crown piece in the middle.easy for any woodworker to do in walnut.or just put a piece of 1/4" walnur\t over the holes. i see no marking on the back.so am inclosing an Ansonia gong.it's nice enough to be Ansonia! Clock is in good condition. It does tick when you wind it. It looks though as the second dial has come off. I'm not sure about the barometer as I don't know how those work. The clocks are 5 1/2 an inch each, the stand is about 18 inches wide. The clocks are around 7 inches tall when on the stand. No glass over the barometer. They look in very good condition, only some general wear. See pictures. They are very heavy duty. Cased in brass. It has 3 holes on the back of each to screw into a wall or mounting area. Each one weighs around 10 lbs, 20lbs together. The clock does ring a bell every so often. Usually at the half hour mark. I know it is supposed to ring around the time that ships crew were supposed to change shift and I think it is pretty close to what that is supposed to be, only I am not sure of the times it chimed for the schedule. ... moreWhen you wind it the clock will keep going for quite some time. One wind did well over 24 hours and going on to 48 hours. Not sure how much longer it goes as I can't just sit and observe it. If you look on the Chelsea website you can see that even the smaller new version of this is around 3.000$. Each 6 inch(closest size to it) is selling for 2,400$ each one in brass. The clock sits on the metal hand tooled horseshoe to raise the clock for the swing of the pendulum. The beveled front glass is free from any damage. The back glass has been replaced with a Lucite, why? Not a clue. The ceramic face plate does have some age damage, see picture#5. The clock has just been serviced by a professional as when I purchased the clock on spring needed to be replaced. It is definitely old as the patina on the metal cannot be fabricated. It IS heavy! Standing at 27" in height. It is by the famous clockmaker Japy Freres and has the 1855 mark on the movement backplate. It is classical in design. Draped in laurel swags held by rams masks applied to an urn to the top. The sides are fretted and backed with red. This is a stunning, very large clock with a superb gild. The large and superb dial is also gilt brass with 12 individual enamel cartouches and blued steel hands. The bezel is fitted with convex glass. The French movement is of high quality and has the Japy Freres mark on the backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. The middle of the dial says"JN MARR" and"FALKIRK" on the right. This clock features a gorgeous Hand painted scene around the dial. Scene is depicting everyday life living in the early 19th century. Beautiful 1900's Antique SESSIONS "WAGNER"? PARLOR / MANTLE CLOCK w/ key Unique&
Another beautiful mantle clock I couldn't pass up from a recent estate sale I went to. Unique designs. Love the dark green color columns. The metal deco of a lady holding what looks to be a harp on each side, metal deco on sides and beautiful designs as you will see in the 12 photos uploaded. I was told, and information I have received or have been told in the past has been wrong at times, so PLEASE be your own judge and PLEASE look at all the photos. Someone mentioned it as a"WAGNER" and, I was also told it's a Mozart Circa 1918. It is without the glass over the face. Again, NO glass over the face of the clock. There's crackling on the material of the face/dial, from age and it being in used, antique condition, I assume. On the front of the face at the bottom, MADE BY THE SESSIONS CO. FORESTVILLE CONN. U.S.A. The front ... morehas the metal claw feet on each side. Measuring the widest part, which is the claw feet and where they come out, side to side, again, including the claw feet, approximately 16 1/4 inches. Measuring front to back, including the claw feet, approximately 6 inches. It displays approximately 11 3/4 inches tall. I took pictures of all sides angles, even the inner parts/mechanism. I couldn't get it to run. I really do not know what it needs. I think, and my opinion only, the pendulum is not mounted right because I found another pendulum type piece loose inside. It has the key with it. It strikes a deep sounding cathedral gong to the count of the hour/s and once on a bell for the half hour. I am not a clock expert and do not know exactly what it needs. So hopefully someone that knows about clocks will be able to tell more about it by looking at the photos uploaded. The scales show it weighing 9 pounds and 0.6 ounces. Caldwell Philadelphia French Carriage Clock which Strikes the hour and half hour on a gong, has a Repeater function which strikes the hour and an alarm function. The case looks to have been polished at some time in the resent past. The sides are beveled curved glass with one of them replaced with plastic. Antique French Gilt Bronze Boulle Portico Clock c.1870, This is a beautiful antique French Napoleon III ormolu and ebonised. Boulle portico mantel clock. Circa 1840-70 in date,with rarely seen military face,i've never seen another one with military face.not sure if it belong to a military officer The clock is really ornate with fabulous ormolu mounts. Wondefrul Boulle decoration, i t has four ebonised barley twist columns and a large porcelain dial. The eight day clock movement is in good working order and chimes the hour and half hours on a bell. 22 inches high by 10 1/2 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches deep. the dial is 6 inches round.there is no damage to dial with gold military hour numbers a bit faded but still very readable.clock movement may need some adjusting after shipping.please look at all the pictures and ask questions before ... morebidding as all sales are final
