She rests on her back in the nude stretching her lean legs in the air. She holds a long stemmed flower delicately in her hand. She appears tiny compared to the mushroom she so easily rests on. This enchanting sculpture was crafted using the lost wax method. It rests on a tiered black marble base. It is signed Aldo Vitaleh. The Art of Lost Wax. Lost wax casting has been around for thousands of years. Yet few people understand how the process actually works. Although mechanization has facilitated the lost wax process of bronze casting. The procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC. The Rubber Mold. First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. These molds are the only components that are ever re-used in the casting process. All other components are re-created for each casting. The Wax Positive. Once the molds are done. The insides are coated with layers of wax. The halves are then bound together and wax poured inside to complete the wax image being created. Once the wax has cooled. The mold is peeled away, yielding a wax image(the wax positive" duplicating the original sculpture. This image must then be"touched-up" to remove any seam lines. 16lbs French Antique Glass Clock Oriental Chinese Champleve Cloisonne HandMade
Large antique cloissonne clock. Probably from the late 1800's. 19 inches high and 13 inches long approximately. Weighs 16 pounds. Hand made Cloissonne. Comes with brass key. The clock works but overwinds easilly and then will stop after a short time and I would need to fidget with the pendulum to get it to go for the 24 hours that it can actually do but it can not function reliably without repair. Some small damage to top. Top part of Cloissonne has small chip(see close up) and small chip in glass(see close up) There also seems to be a small barely noticeable dent in the metal where the chipped Cloissonne is(see close up) Glass chip is to the side and bottom right where the brass frame is so it is barely noticeable(I have had the clock for over a year and just noticed when I was taking photos) The top and bottom seem to be some kind of ... morenatural stone. The hinge on the side of the glass is a little bit loose(needs to be tighten up) The weight of the bezel tends to lean down. The door does not close tightly. The face shows signs of tin wear. It is held up with 4 spectacular Horses, it has an eight day movement. Which is stamped GV 555. The clock is in good working condition. The wood is ebonized againt the gilt brass making it quite spectacular. The condition is excellent. The dimensions are 28 1/2 inches in height and 18 inches in width and 10 inches in depth. Offering this just incredible wood framed key wind clock. After running it for a few days I have determined it is actually about 4 to 5 minutes fast. I am sure there is some type of adjustment for that but I don't want to break what is not broken I cannot find a manufacturers name on the unit. I have tried to give a clear idea of the clock through my photos. One thing that is interesting and I want to mention is that the clock winds counter clockwise as the arrow shows. DUVERDREY & BLOQUET Mahogany and Inlay Balloon Clock
Up for auction is a Duverdrey& Bloquet Balloon clock. It has the walking lion trademark on the mechanism. In my research I believe it to be dated c1900. The case is a beautiful mahogany with an inlaid fan. The face of the clock is in excellent condition. There is a 1/2" hairline crack below the face just above the inlay and 2 very small cracks on either side. The bottom left corner has a tiny piece of inlay missing. There is a small scar on the top of the back and the back cover has some wear. The clock is in running condition but loses about 5 minutes in a 24 hour period. The key is missing. The imperfections I've described are hardly noticeable. The clock measures 8 1/4" tall and 4 3/4" wide at the base. Please contact me with any questions. Thank you.

It is the customary size nice and big with about 5 to 6 inches deep. The glass is intact. Now the clocks age is probably around 1860s and chimes on the half hour and full hour. Most Ogees are ONLY 30 hour clocks. This one has nice old works(might not be the ones that original but old and in excellent condition) AND THE BEST PART.IT IS A SEVEN YES 7 DAY CLOCK. Who the heck wants to wind a clock every 30 hours. That is the reason we kept this so long. It does have a lovely melodious chime and keeps time nicely. Seems to be overwound and I could not wind it so does need attention. The clock movement requires a pendulum which is not included. Check the photos as I have incuded any markings I found on the clock. The triangular clock is approx 10 inches high and 11 inches at the widest point. Marked Forestville. Has a few small blemishes to the surface. I was able to wind this clock and it did run until I moved it from a wall postition and it stopped. Ran again when placed upright. The white color is enameled paint. The main color is a lovely deep sea blue/green. The flowers on it make it even nicer. I have never seen a set like this. Made around 1880-1900. The ornaments are partly made of brass and partly made of bronze. All the ornaments are original and in good. Antique condition, with only minor wear. CONDITION I was unable to wind the clock and I didn't want to force it. So I have not had it running. The case is in wonderful condition. Only a couple small areas of gold worn off on the accented trim(exposing red underneath) I see a little bit of crazing in the front wood panel, when held at just the right angle, no paint crack or peeling- Hardly worth noting. This is decorated with delft type scenes of boats and windmills. This is found on the lower plate and on the dial. There is fancy brass design on the crown. When I took the clock apart. I found out the slow fast adjustment had been replaced. It is not the right one but still can be adjusted. I oiled it and serviced it. The porcelain dial has some stress cracks. The beveled glass has a chip in the bevel. The little clip that holds the door closed is missing but the door still says closed. The key and pendulum is not original to clock. It is running and keeping good time. The case is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It is highly ornate. I believe it is from the mid 1800's. The mechanism is signed SETH THOMAS. The strike sound is a bell both on the half hour and hour. THEY WERE CALLED SHIP'S DECK CHRONOMETER AND WERE PRIZED DUE TO THE DEGREE OF ACCURACY OF THEIR TIMEKEEPING. THE CHRONOMETER IS HOUSED IN A 3-TIER MAHOGANY CASE WITH A LIFT UP GLASS COVER TO PROTECT THE TIMEPIECE. THE DIAL MEASURES 2 1/4" AND IS SILVER ETCHED WITH ROMAN NUMERALS WITH 2 OTHER DIALS. THE FACE IS MARK ED"WALTHAM CLOCK COMPANY. 8-DAY" THE WORKS ARE HOUSED IN A BRASS"TUB" PROTECTED BY A SCREW-IN BRASS BEZEL AND IS WOUND BY A LARGE KNOB ON TOP WHICH ALSO SETS THE TIME WHEN PULLED OUT. THE MAHOGANY CASE IS EMBELLISHED WITH BRASS BANDS ON ALL FOUR CORNERS AND THE ORIGINAL BRASS WALTHAM LABEL IN INCISED ON THE FRONT OF THE MIDDLE SECTION. THE HINGE IS TIGHT AND THE CASE OPENS AND CLOSED CORRECTLY. THERE IS A KEY-HOLE ON THE FRONT. HOWEVER, WE DO NOT HAVE THE KEY. THE CASE IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NICE PATINA AND NO NOTED DAMAGE OR FLAWS. THE CASE MEASURES 4 7/8" HIGH. 4 7/8" WIDE AND 4 7/8" DEEP. THE FIRST CASED CHRONOMETER WATCH PURCHASED BY THE NAVAL OBSERVATORY IN 1907 WAS MADE BY THE WALTHAM WATCH COMPANY. Jennings Brothers Vintage Woman Clock Topper Metal
Being offered is a clock Topper. I was told this was manufactured by Jennings Brothers since it is marked on the underside JB. There is a slight stress line break on the right side of the chair but it doesn't go around it. I have provided pictures of the front and back. The finish is original and old with some scuff marks. Original German WWI Veteran Helmut Krommer Wood Clock/Musical Wood Painting.Wow!
Very Rare! Beautiful 1940's hand carved wooden clock/musical picture. About 32" x 21" Very nice condition with a few small dings. Original clock motor has been replaced to make it work. Pull the hidden string and the water wheel moves and plays a nice peaceful song. Helmut Krommer was a Sudeten German who fought in the First World War on the Austrian side(decorated in 1917) Over the following two decades he became famous in central Europe for his etchingsand engravings. But difficulties with the Nazi regime(his wife was Jewish, and Krommer refused to join various state-controlled artist unions) resulted in his flight from Germany to Prague. He made his escape from Prague(a town he loved) in 1939. After the Germans had moved in and occupied Czechoslovakia. Between 1939 and 1951 he lived in Guildford UK. Where at first he had ... moregreat difficulty living off his art. However, he was very inspired by the local countryside and the bulk of his work seems to have been conceived here. In 1951 he went to live in the US with his eldest daughter. He held a number of one-man exhibitions in the 1950s and 1960s. He died in 1975.

Gilbert Capitol# 45 pendulum kitchen clock. Clock is 13 inches wide and 23 inches tall Appears to be an oak case with deep carving in very good restorable condition. The label on the back is in exceptional shape. Pendulum has a photograph of a lady on it. Did not try and clean it up. Key included. Clock is would tight. Did not level it. But started it and it ran for a couple of minutes, so I believe that it would run with a cleaning and oiling No international shipping This is a very nice clock for someone who would like to get started in clock restoration or collecting. There is no wood repair needed with the exception of some simple gluing in one spot

This is an interesting gothic wooden mahogany cased clock of which: During our research we have been informed it dates from the gothic period of the 19th century and is of european origin. Dates about c1900. Wonderful mahogany case with the tracery carvings to the top at the front of the case. Glass door with the domed top. Internally has circular metal dial with roman numerals. Brass pendulum with R.A. centrally. Movement behind clock face. Has an overall height of about 17inches. Max depth of about 4inches. Condition: Considering the age. The overall condition visually is excellent and the case is not subject to any major blemishes. Wear to the clock face with the brass surround needing mounting with a further screw. No key. As to the working condition of the clock. Not our forte and we actually have no idea. So due its age, we do suggest ... morea service or similar. All as per pictures.
