VINTAGE BRASS MANTLE CLOCK FROM PORTUGAL OR GERMANY
I went to a local Portuguese clock dealer about a month ago to get this appraised who used to sell these clocks about the time when I received this one. He told me the price range they were selling these were between $250- $300. This is a great deal. Up for bid is an very ornate brass mantle clock which was made in either Portugal or Germany. Exact origin is unknown but I tend to think more Portugal then Germany due to the stamp impression.This was given as a wedding gift to me in 1992. It has been in storage for the last 20+ years. It has an electric Junghans W737 made in Germany quartz clock. Never had a battery in it until now just to confirm that it indeed does work. Takes one AA battery which will be included and the battery is new. The stamp impression reads Registado S. Mocho Portugal. This information is stamped in the brass on the ... moreinside of the clock. The top of the clock has a soldier with a spear on a horse. I don't know anything about clocks. This clock never matched our décor so I figured its about time to find it a good home where someone can show it off. The only issue is that the glass has few light scratches on the center of the face in the middle. You can leave it. You might be able to polish them out. Or you can just replace it. Its pretty heavy since it is brass. Check the photos out. Photos might tell you more about it.Before shipping I will loosen and remove the one nut holding the horse and the soldier and pack him carefully inside the box. Ajax Business Stamp Time -Time Clock
What a find. May have been in a collection or storage since the early 1900's. I have for bid an all original. With all keys and in working condition a beautiful AJAX TIME STAMP time clock. It is one of the early and first time clock for employees. It stamps the Month, day and time. After inspection it looks like the original ink ribbon is still in place and ready to go. I did wind the clock and it is keeping time and you can hear the tic-toc, sounds so good. I did apply a small drop of special clock oil I had on the swing movement. With an item like this I do not do any type of restoration as it is so easy to take the quality and value away, I leave this to the pro's or customer. What you get is an item as found and a part of history. As I mentioned all three keys are with it, one for setting the clock, one for winding the clock and ... moreone for I think turning the stamp off. Welcome! This auction is for an OLD/ Vintage Electric Clock. Weighs 5 pounds! Stands 13 3/4" tall. Musical note theme. Clock movement by Sessions. Made in the USA! Also has a temperature guage. I did not plug in due to'age' of the cord and plug in. See pictures for best description. Very good shape, very slight color wear in a few places. The glass clock face had a piece of tape over it with a price tag so has a slight stickly line that needs to be carefully cleaned off to prevent a scratch. AC 110 V. Selling AS IS. The clock hands are a wonderful purple color that does not show up well in the photos. The high quality. 15 jewel, adjusted to 3 positions, 8 day mechanical movement was just fully serviced and works perfectly. This antique Tiffany clock really catch es your eyes. The dial is also gold gilt with guilloche designs. The case is appropriately hallmarked Sterling and Tiffany. Antique/Vintage Long Georg Nielsen designed Wooden Cased HAC Wall Clock Running Striking on 4 chime bars. Banjo Clock not included just for size comparison) Now this clock is an absolutely special wall clock with the case especially designed by Danish designer George Nielsen with many interesting special features. In lovely light wood the case is obviously a Danish design with a gorgeous large 21cm convex circular glass framing the dial and the lower glass framed by brass leadlighting. Decorated with wooden carved scroll embellishments on the sides and top. Side vents with delightful removable brass plates that are perforated to let the chime rods sound resonate into the room. The movement can be slid out away from the case by releasing two finger knobs and the chiming can be switched off by a special lever which slides a brake in place. ... moreAnother two finger knobs screw out extra wall grips which can give added stability and even support if you wish as this is a heavy clock. The chimes too have a clever double fork brake which can be turned on and off at the back when the clock is in transit. The case is in great condition for its age which is probably antique as there is a repair sticker on the back dated 1922. This one seems to look as fresh and bright as it always was with the fine wood grain warming your parlor. Of course it should have knocks and bumps commensurate with its age which add character but I couldn't find many and it still looks really great. The dial looks wonderful. Shiny and clean. The movement is a HAC so of very dependable German origin. This clock is not only classy it is running quite well. It has a lovely artistic brass circular metal pendulum and is supplied with key shown. Very suitable for a large home. See the photos for all the features. Up for auction is a very rare all wooden works regulator shelf clock manufactured by Orton Preston& Co. Farmington, Conn. Circa 1820-1830. This company produced clocks only during this time frame. The clock is in very good condition. It is weight driven with two cast weights. Includes the original wind up handle. The works are all wooden with brass bushings. The top glass is original. The bottom glass has been replaced at some point. It originally would have had a reverse painting. The case is of pillar/scroll type and is 32" high x 16 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" deep. The veneer is in very good condition. There is a manufacturer's instruction sheet glued to the inside of the case which tells you how to set the clock. I do not have the key for the door. I have had this clock running fine in the past, but it will not consistently ... morerun right now. I think it needs a good cleaning and adjustment. The interior works come apart easily with metal pins and wooden pegs holding everything together. Here's an opportunity to own a piece of early 19th century American history! FABULOUS* OLD GERMAN BLK. FOREST "ANIMATED BLUE BIRDS" CUCKOO CLOCK
This Fabulous designed and very colorful Old German Black Forest Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale. Please view the pictures below) This clock was carved depicting a old mountain Chalet complete with a sharply pitched roof. The clock is very impressive in size with a overall length of 17" from top of bird's wing to bottom of the pendulum and a width of 9" at the widest point. The Beautifully Hand Painted Forest Red Breasted Blue Bird at the top is one of the eye catching focal points. She has her wings spread and has a lovely Red breast. She even has a glass inlaid eye. Accented on both sides of her are colorful carved Maple leaves and tree branches. The center of the clock is framed with more of these lovely leaves and branches and a Bird's nest at the bottom with a baby chick sticking his head out. ... moreThis piece is carved from a single piece of wood. On both sides above the nest are two more lovely Blue birds that will rotate up and down. Feeding the chick, while the Cuckoo bird coo coos up top. The The face of the clock is numbered in Roman numerals and the hands are very decorative. The face is marked"Germany" at the bottom. The upper peak of the front has a little hinged wooden door. This door will open on the half hour and hour and the Cuckoo bird will appear. As he bobs up and down, He will coo coo once on the half hour and as many times needed for the hour of the day, on the hour mark. Remember the the two other Blue birds will move also. The movement is of the finest German quality. Made from solid Brass and powered by two metal Pine cone designed weights that hang on brass chains. The movement is regulated by a carved and hand painted wooden Leaf pendulum that swings back and forth beneath the clock. This clock is in great condition and also runs great. There are no defects I can see. I only notice the two weights are a little different in design, but not noticeable. Vintage German Kienzle Alarm Clock Tam Tam Excellent Condition Working
This is an Original Kienzle German Made"Tam Tam" Alarm Clock. I purchased this for my collection in 1980. I have been down sizing so here it is. It is working fine both the clock and the alarm part. It has a seconds hand. The case is in extremely good condition. It needs a clean with some Brasso or something. It has a fair bit of scum on it. I gave it a bit of a clean with some methylated spirits and it got 80% of the grime off. There is a tiny chip in the glass. This is the only imperfection I can see. Portable Sundial - Late Eighteen Hundreds (VERY RARE)
This very rare portable sundial. For use in Indian latitudes, was made in the late 19th century, probably in London, for Charles Nephew& Co, a scientific instrument maker based in Calcutta, India who was in operation between 1848 and 1870. It has been in my family since 1918(London) and was passed down to me by my grandfather when he died in 1969. The brass sundial is permanently fixed in its wooden case which has three leveling screws and two spirit level bubbles. The arm is graduated from 0 to 60 degrees. The portable sundial was made for sale in Calcutta. Where the long hours of sunlight at lower latitudes would have made it a viable alternative to owning a watch. The wooden case measures 4 ½ inches in diameter and 1 ¼ inches high and the two halves are hinged with two front clips(see photos) The dial is in original condition ... moreand is fully functional. Unique ANTIQUE GERMAN MADE ANNIVERSARY CLOCK up for sale! This clock takes the shape of a lantern with a square base and flat glass plates on each side! This clock measures 8 inches in height and the base is 4 inches in length on each side. The clock is housed in a brass casing with a decorative top and finial! It was made by August Schatz and Sohne of Germany! It is marked 2 jewel unadjusted on the back of the clock and it also has the number"53" printed inside the company seal. The clockface employs the use of Roman Numerals and Baroque style hands to point the hours and minutes! I love how each plate of glass on the frame is etched. It just adds that finishing touch of class and elegance! What a fine antique Schatz anniversary clock to add to your collection! It comes to you in GOOD AS FOUND condition.
