As far as age, the crate obviously looks old and in solid condition.but on the ends of the crate you can seen in the last 2 photos it is stamped G-8-17.which indicates to me 1917. Note: I have a crate from another brewery with a similar stamp that is the date since that brewery was only open for a couple years and easier to verify, while Monarch had a presence both before and after prohibition. Hello- Up for bid is an old wooden crate end with handsome flower graphics from Carnation Brand. It's in nice condition for it's age. It does have wear here and there. There's some cracking on the front but it does not go through to the back. It looks to have been sealed on the front at some point. There is a stamp of random numbers on the front in ink that hopefully you can see in the second photo. Shows it was really used at some point! Click on the main photo for enlargement and the other photos for detail. It measures 10 3/4" tall and 11 1/4" wide. I have it pre-loaded with 3M hangers on the back with tiny nails to keep them in place. You will need to get mates for them to hang it. This measures 16" long. 10 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" tall. The lettering has faded some with age see pictures. The back the lettering is very faint, it is pretty vibrant on the front. The middle slat on the bottom has a broken spot and one is cracked. There is a chip in the wood on the rim as well. This is normal aging and signs of use. This is still sturdy and shows nicely. The crate is in superb condition with fantastic, rich colors. All the printed text is sharp. Clear and crisp and the original ink is bright and intact. These older. Wooden scotch crates are getting harder and harder to find in any condition since it’s been many decades since scotch was shipped in wooden crates and they were rarely preserved. It is our pleasure to find and restore them and offer them to you on eBay. The crate was restored and now has stability and structural integrity. The following was performed on this crate: Sanding of all non-printed panels such as on the inside and bottom panel• Some light hand sanding was done to some of the ... moresides with the printing but with the utmost care to avoid all the printing. Which is important to preserve as is! Application of a“satin finish” polyurethane to all panels– inside and out. Including the bottom. The satin poly enriches and seals the wood, protects it from moisture, rotting and humidity as well as enhances the wood’s original color and luster. Sally's Cellar is very proud to offer up for sale a Meadow Gold Dairy Crate from Lincoln. Nebraska in 1948. I found this at an antique sale in Nebraska on one of my many drives from my home to Nebraska to take care of family. This crate makes me proud as it congers up many connections to people and a way of life. This crate is just 65 years old. The dairy shut down a few years ago. the crate is in fabulous condition. what does this give you? A well built piece of history that is rarely found in this great of condition. There is some discoloration in the wood either from age, use or storage and the front right corner is not as sturdy as the rest of the piece. Vintage Wooden 7Up Crate
Up for purchase is a very neat Vintage wooden 7Up crate. This is in used condition. The 7Up lettering is faded. But you can still see it. The white is faded too. It has scratches and marks all over. It has a white color on the inside. It looks like the wood split on the bottom. Overall in nice shape for the age. It measures at about 17 inches in length and about 11 inches wide.
