I-1 Hard Wood Bowl carved into the shape of a leaf two toned and beautifully grained wood possibly this is teak or monkey-wood. And made in Hawaii or the Philippines? I am not sure of it's history. It is very beautiful. And has nice detailing and finishing. Excellent condition. Minor signs of age and use- there appears to be a water spot in the base of the bowl. Vintage 12" Teak Wood Hand Carved Salad Bowl Utensils Danish Mid Century Modern Hello Everyone. This is a large hand carved wood salad bowl with matching utensils. I believe the wood is teak but I could be wrong. Beautifully hand crafted. The utensils are hand carved as well. This large bowl measures 12 inches across. 13 inches corner to corner, and is 5 inches tall. The 2 utensil spoons are 11 inches long. Condition is very good with normal wear and tear scratches. This is an interesting nutcracker. I read a bit about nutcracker construction. And I found out that this type“screw” nutcrackers first appeared in the 17 th century. And they were simple in structure but then artisans began carving and shaping intricate designs. This one is definitely Not that Old! but it is an vintage piece- It is marked on the back France. It is made of 2 pieces- a wooden bowl with wooden screw that turns to smash/ break the nuts. Heavy lovely full wood piece– type of wood unknown- Size: height of bowl section is approx 2 ¼ inches with diameter of 2 ¼ inches; the length with the screw totally expanded is approx 6 inches– when it is screwed in. The length is approx 4 ¼ inches. Condition: It is an older piece and does show wear to the wood– I have not shined it– Appears to work well- France is worn on the base. ... moreBut still legible. The dish was crafted in Hawaii at the House of Kalai. Which was located in Kalihi on Oahu, sometime in the 1990’s. The dish has been minimally used and is in excellent condition. The dish measures approximately 11-1/4” long. 8-7/8” wide, 2-1/4” tall, and 1-3/4” deep on the inside. The dish has a good thickness to it that gives it a substantial feel. The top edge of the dish is approximately 1/8” and the base of the dish is approximately 1/2" thick. Comes from a smoke free home. Auction item is sold"as is" and all sales are final. Very Rare Old Hawaiian Wood Bowl Signed Estate Up for auction is an old Hawaiian wood bowl. It’s signed Lai or Tai Kausau? The signature is clear I just can’t interpret. This came out of an Estate in Bronxville. NY. The estate kin said that they were always told it was special. The owners lived in Hawaii and donated millions to local Hawaiian economies. Unfortunately, that’s where it ends in terms of background. The bowl is approximately 11”x5” There are a few cracks but I’m not sure if that was intentional, age or use(pictures) Also, it looks like some of the cracks have a rustic repair…strange. The wood may be Koa based on the top line research I’ve done. There is a partial label that you can barely read on the bottom. It’s also signed(as stated above) and stamped/burned/carved, made in Hawaii. Age is a head scratcher. Please. Early Turned Painted Banded Oval Wood Bowl Folk Art Landscape Painting 10.75"
This is one very nice early turned bowl. It depicts a woman walking away from a house in the woods. Through a field. It shows very fine and close together lathe turned lines on the back side of the bowl. Which appears to have been originally painted a dark green or green-blue. It seems also to have had a gold and black band painted around the inside edge of the rim. There is a raised 5/8"3/4" band around the outside upper edge of the rim. The bowl is oval/oblong due to the shrinkage of the wood over time. It takes quite a long time to create an oval bowl due to shrinkage. The bowl measures approximately 10 3/4" x 9 3/4" I believe the landscape was painted quite a bit later than when the bowl was made. Just a guess. Scratches on the back. Paint loss particularly on the edge. Odd white drip marks on inside. One check on ... moreeither end of the bowl. Having said that. Large 20.5" Antique Primitive Old Wood Dough Bowl Trencher Treen Country Table
ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE 20.5" WOOD TRENCHER DOUGH BOWL This is a beautiful dough bowl that was acquired recently from an estate in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Although this primitive wood dough bowl was carved from one piece of wood, it has a nice smooth finish. In addition to its length of 20.5' x 10' wide and 4" deep. It is doubled handled and shows a few small white paint specks on the surface of one side. Can be easily removed. It remains in very good condition. Very smooth surface separation/ crack has been repaired near one handle. This wonderful old trencher with its old aged patina and color will look great and is a perfect size for your harvest table or wherever you decide to use it.
