Lovely matching pair of vintage table lamps. Probably from the'40s, of Victorian couples painted blue, pink, and yellow, with gold accents on a creamy white base. They are in very nice condition without any chips or cracks and have been completely rewired and work fine. They measure approx. 10 1/2" tall.

Japanese novelty items dominated the market from 1947 to 1957 or so. Then Hong Kong until about 1970 then Taiwan took over from then until the late 80's. Then it was China until now. I'm dating these about 1957- late 60's. I started selling imported novelties in 1972 and I am not familiar with these types. Get all 6 for 1 bid. Nice colors and most with some cleaning and maintenance will probably work again. Some of the metal ones may have surface rust. These lamps are in working order. They stand approx. 8 to 9" tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the figurines heads(12" to top of socket) They are not marked that I could find. The base is brass colored cast aluminum or pot metal(a magnet does not stick to it) But the rod that contains the wire up to the lamp socket is a brass-colored metal that has some discoloration. The figurines appear to be made of a porcelain bisque and are painted nicely ... morewith much detail. The main issue with condition is that the delicate fingers on both have suffered some damage but it is only noticeable upon close inspection and does not deter from their overall beauty. This listing is for a pair of. I think, Stiffel table lamps in solid brass. Each beautiful lamp measures 29 1/2" to the top of the harp and measures 6" across the base. Both lamps work properly and are substantial in weight. The Stiffel name is not visible, but the signature coin edge nut is under the bulb fixture. The Stiffel mark may be under the cork bottom in the base. With the popularity of mid-century modern décor, these lamps are highly sought after. The off-white portion of each lamp is made of an opaque glass or marble material. The green'stick' portion is metal. I believe, with a green coating. There are some small chips as you can see in the photos. These can be turned to the back. The shades are in great condition for their age. They have a textured bumpy feel(seems like a heavy paper) with a gold flecked on coral ribbon piece along the top and bottom. The tone gives off a muted warm glow. PAIR 53" T VINTAGE MOREAU BRONZE CHERUB BOY GIRL FIGURAL TORCHIERE FLOOR LAMPS
Here is a really special find. a gorgeous pair of 53 inch tall beautifully detailed reproduction Moreau bronze boy and girl cherub figural torchiere lamps with etched glass globes. These appear to be vintage reproductions of early work of this French master sculptor. During the 19th century. There were a lot of French artists with the last name"Moreau" but I believe this signature comes from the family of Jean-Baptiste Moreau, who had three sons- Hippolyte, Mathurin and Auguste. These three brothers were all sculptors, and to some degree, worked in vaguely similar styles. This is often confusing to collectors of mid-late 19th century French bronzes, especially if a piece in question is signed without a first initial. Doing my best to review their work, I believe these lamps are based on the work of Auguste Moreau, who was born in ... moreDijon in 1834 and died in Milesherbes in 1917. Auguste is said to have studied under his father and his brother, Mathurin, as well as Jean-Francois Millet and Auguste Drumont. Auguste first exhibited his work at the Salon in 1861 and continued to do so until 1913(one source said 1910) It is reported that his work is represented in French museums in the cities of Bordeaux and Troyes, and his sculptures are being widely reproduced to this day. This marvelous pair of tall Moreau bronze torchiere floor lamps came to us through an estate sale several years ago and unfortunately I don't know any earlier provenance with regard to the early history of this incredible bronze figural lamps. This absolutely fabulous 53 inch tall bronze lamps are extremely heavy well cast works. Beautifully detailed and in lovely condition. The bronze figures themselves are 37 inches tall and stand on a 14 inch diameter faux marble base. The terrific etched glass globes have a 10 inch diameter and the torches they sit held by the cherubs on are 18 inches in length. Set of Two Elegant Vintage Table / Desk Lamps
Offered at auction is this charming set of 2 vintage table or desk lamps. They were part of an upper echelon Main Line Estate and are probably from the 1940s or 50s. They appear to have been rewired. They use two standard bulbs each and work perfectly. They are made from cast metal with a brass/ bronze appearance. They depict a Satyr from Greek mythology. The shades are black on the outside but appear to have a mica like metallic. Reflective surface on the inside. One of the shades has a small repair but is very serviceable. The lamp bases are 7" tall and 5" wide at the base. With the hardware, shade and finial in place they have an overall height of 14" The shades are 10" in diameter at the bottom and 8" at the top. Check out this awesome pair of Lucite and Chrome Lamps. They are unmarked but are midcentury style lamps. And I feel they show a Karl Springer influence. Lamps stand 31" high. Shades are 6.5" Tassel hangs 5" from the lamp. Base is 5" square. Finials are crystal and beautiful! The shades are white with little chrome? balls strung over the shades. Making a very nice design. You'll have to look at the photo to see this as I am probably not describing it correctly. The lamps actually look better in person. The chrome and Lucite is very shiny. These lamps are in very good condition considering their age. Maybe a scratch or two and some discoloration on the base, all easily fixed with a dab of metallic paint.
