Vintage Inger Persson Rorstrand Art Pottery Wall Tile Terra Cotta Abstract
Scandinavian Vintage Art Pottery Deluxe: Signed Inger Persson for Rorstrand Sweden Art Pottery Scandinavian Wall Tile: Rare and Unusual Ceramic Wall Hanging Abstract Figural Terra Cotta Piece of Art HISTORY& CONDITION: This has been in my collection for a long time. And it's quite unusual! This is an Inger Persson signed piece from Rorstrand Sweden. Since Ms. Persson was with Rorstrand from 1959 until the early 1970s, I will say it is safe to say that this piece is from that particular era. She later rejoined the pottery in the early 1980s, but I believe this to be earlier than that. This long and intriguing piece has been hanging in my home for over a decade. And I have so enjoyed being its caretaker. As you can see from the photos. There is one chip to the front of the tile- this is to be found lower right hand side along the margin ... moreof the tile. The chip was there when I took possession of the tile, and has not worsened. There are no structural flaws nor defects to be found- we do have age and display related signs of wear(scuffing and minor discoloration to the terra cotta) but no damage which detracts from the appearance of the piece, save the chip. Because this was a handmade piece, you will note variations in glaze thickness and other glazing, firing and construction related imperfections which are related to the creation of the piece. Use the close-up feature to see every nook and cranny- there is some chipping/flaking to the back as well, so have a look. The rear side of the tile has all markings. Stamps, signatures as well as the metal hook which is original to the piece. This is being sold AS IS, so ask your questions before purchase. Please read my very detailed description for all the information you need- and should you require additional information, photos and so forth, please just message me! Vintage MALIBU TILE Wrought Iron Table Spanish Revival Art Pottery CATALINA ERA Vintage MALIBU(D&M? Wrought Iron Tile-Top Table in a unique hexagonal design being offered for sale. This one-of-a-kind table appears to be Malibu and not Taylor or Catalina due to it's pie-shaped tiles and floral designs. Each tile has a bleeding heart pierced by an arrow and the words"Carmen I Love You Dear Sweetheart Of Mine" spelled accross each tile within a scrolling white banner. The table has wrought iron construction that is very heavy with flattened and splayed ends to each metal piece. There are two alternating shapes repeating around the perimeter. This table measures accross the top: 18-3/8" side-to-side and 21-1/8" corner-to-corner. The table stands: 23-3/4" tall. The previous owner painted it black a few years back ... moreand there are some black brush strokes on the bottom. Diamond-shaped tile. This additional tile shows an old spanish house and the words: LAWNDALE CALIF spelled-out below it. There looks to be a name or signature on the side of the bottom tile but I can't read it(see the last two pictures) Also the second to the last picture shows a small broken corner which I think I still have somewhere on my property. The table-top tiles look excellent with no cracks or major chips. The pointed ends in the table center show a few tiny chips to the blue tips but nothing too noticable. There is slight crazing overall from age. The original grout still remains but is yellowed and missing in many places. Multiple purchases always get a combined shipping rate. Postage will be at least $100.00 minimum although I would prefer the buyer make their own shipping arrangements due to this table weighing 36 pounds by itself. 1958 ARISTOFLEX Vinyl Asbestos TILE SAMPLES 25 Varieties in Original Box MATICO You are bidding on a 1958 set of 25 Aristoflex sample tiles. These vinyl-asbestos tiles are speckled with all manner of colors reminiscent of old schoolhouse tile floors. Aristoflex was a brand name for the Mastic Tile Corporation of America(Matico) based in Newburgh. New York. We’re not sure when this company went out of business officially, but they were locked in a labor dispute in 1958 and by 1961 were battling in court over a trademark infringement. Their Aristoflex brand was filed in 1951 and registered in 1952. Each tile measures 2-1/2” tall by 2-1/2” wide(except for one tile that is inexplicably a smidgen shorter) Each tile is in great shape with no chips or cracks. The back of each tile is dated 1958 and has markings indicating the color. Pattern number, ... moregauge, and of course, another advertisement for Matico. They come in their original red box. The box measures 2-3/4” tall with the lid on. The base measures 4” by 2-3/4” This box has some soiling and staining to the top and sides as well as a split in one corner of the lid. There are also scuff to each corner and a tiny area of paper loss on one side of the lid. Each side of the box contains an advertisement for other Matico products.
