Up for bidding is an antique FRED K. MYLL CO 1/2 gallon jug. 169 Monroe Avenue. Detroit. Mich. Fred Myll made many liquors, wines, and ryes. He was a wholesale distributor in the Eastern Market area of Detroit during the late 1800's into the early 1900's. The stoneware advertising jug is in great shape with no cracks or other damage. There is a small crack or fold in the clay handle. Looks to be a half gallon crock. Possibly by Red Wing or another early pottery company. Nice advertising crock. Being sold as is/as found. Antique ovoid decorated stoneware crock, 8'' tall
This primitive decorated stoneware jar is an amazing size 8' tall. The top rim has drooped in the firing to give it an unusual shape. It has cobalt decoration. 3 squiggles. There is some roughness on the top rim. There are no cracks, the ovoid shape is wonderful and makes it older than the straight sided ones. A rare 6-Gallon Salt-Glazed Crock from Upstate New York with monumental proportions; featuring an equally impressive Bird. Slip-trailed in very bold Cobalt. Lightly impressed below the rim: RIEDINGER& CAIRE, POUGHKEEPSIE, NY, with the capacity mark to the right. This stamp was used by Philip Riedinger and Adam Caire 1857-1878 in their well-respected Hudson Valley manufactory. These 6Gal. Birds are relatively scarce; their size and weight made them quite difficult to maneuver when full. This Crock, for example, would weigh nearly 70 lbs. with 24 quarts of liquid! Some imperfections to note: there are two hairlines that go through(one in front; one in back) The line on the lower front continues partially into the base(see close-up) this might lighten up with a good scrubbing. There are also some other"surface only" lines on the ... moreglaze surface. The rim has a two chips and some roughness; and there is glaze flaking near the left handle and the interior Albany Slip. For sale is a RARE Antique Stoneware Crock labeled Weyman's Snuff circa 1866. The jar is 9.25" tall. 6" in diameter and is made of 1/2" thick stoneware weighing over five pounds. Purchased in the 1970's from a farmer in Virginia this crock was a storage vessel for the famous snuff in a tobacco store. The snuff was sold in small tins filled from the crock. George Weyman was the inventor of. In 1822 he opened his tobacco shop in Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania. According to the previous owner this jar which at one time probably had a paper label was from the civil war era. No makers marks found anywhere on this, but close inspection does seem to show indications of hand-forming around the neck and bottom of handle/loop. Antique Jug This jug looks to hold about 1 gallon of fluid. It is 11.5 inches tall and 8 inches in diameter. It does not have any identifying marks that I can see. I found this in an old. Overgrown shed at an estate sale. This jug was on a shelf next to a few other jugs labeled"Whiskey" this was the best looking one of them all. This jug is in great condition for its age; it does not have any cracks. And it does not have any major chips. It has only one small shallow chip on the top edge, please see the picture. What you are viewing is an original antique 3-4 gallon(I Think) Stoneware crock with applied handles and a wonderful blue bee sting decoration on the front. Piece is in great shape for its age with some wear and aging to contend with as well as one 6in crack starting from the top. Piece has nice clean handles and crack is in the back of the piece so it won't detract much in display. Piece measures 9in X 8 3/4in X 13 3/4in and is a nice displayable size but once again, I am not sure about the gallon size. Antique Albany Slip Stoneware Pottery Jar Crock Wax Sealer Earthenware 1880
For sale is a Antique Albany Slip Stoneware Pottery Jar or Crock. This is an old Wax Sealer sometimes referred to as Earthenware. The jar is 4.75" tall and 4.75" in diameter. The jar is in good antique condition with some edge chipping and a ghost hairline on the base that does not show on the inside. The jar will still hold water. I rarely find these pieces in this size. I have tested it for lead so I would date it to about 1880 to 1900. Glass jars were still quite expensive so stoneware jars were still in use during the late 19th century especially in the South. ANTIQUE LAMBRECHT CREAMERY BLUE & WHITE STONEWARE ADVERTISING BUTTER CROCK 1920s
Up for auction is a Lambrecht Creamery(Dairy) Company of Milwaukee. Wisconsin(Circa 1910s to 1942) Lambrecht Butter" Blue and White Stoneware Advertising Crock with a Glass Lid which was Manufactured by the Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois(1906 to 2006) for the Lambrecht Creamery's New York and New Jersey Distribution Routes that's in Overall"Good" Condition from Circa the Late 1920s to 1930s. This crock is in nice clean condition with no chips. Glaze crazing, scratches, scuffs, stains or repairs of any kind and the very dark blue advertising logo is in its original condition. I'm stating this crock is in"Good" used condition because it does have two hairline cracks which start at the top edge. You can see these close up in pictures 11 and 12 and I encourage you use the"Super Size" ... moreand"Zoom" features to view these. Normally I would stay away from a piece with these issues, but this butter crock is an important part of Americana advertising from the stoneware pottery era and headed on its way to being a true antique. There's no reason to think this piece will get any worse concerning the cracks either as long as this crock is used as a collectible display piece only. Please don't worry about shipping it either. I've mainly sold pottery and porcelain items since I became an eBay seller in 2006 and I know how to pack it. Just check my feedback to see this for yourself. I also need to mention that this piece also has some of the typical flaws you find on glazed stoneware which are some glazed over dust specks and pinprick size glaze pops. This crock measures about 3 inches tall and across the top it measures about 5 1/2 inches in diameter. The top measurement is longer because of the shoulder it has and these shoulders were on stoneware crocks. Jars, bowls and other items to help keep damage to a minimum. Up for your bidding consideration is a vintage stoneware jug made in the USA. On the front in gold is a crest with words that appear to be Latin. Under the crest it says in gold Spring'71. It is approximately 10" tall and 5 1/4" across the bottom. There are no chips. Cracks, or signs of repair. There are a few scuff marks on the bottom, the cork has a chip out of it, and on the brown stoneware there is tape residue and on the tape it apparently said 100. You don't see this everyday! This item is an antique stoneware. Ceramic or glass lined, thermos jug. It is in excellent condition for its age.no cracking, chips or nicks. It does needs a little cleaning. The inside of this jug is lined with a ceramic or white glass liner. I believe it's ceramic or glass. This was designed to keep the water or liquid cold. I inspected the inside liner and it is not damaged. There is an aluminum lid that fits on the top. A spring and clamp is the system used to keep the aluminum lid secure, so the jug is complete with closer. The spring fits exactly in a track that circles the top of the jar, and the ends of the wire clamp seat in holes or notches in the side of the jug's neck. We are listing today for your consideration a lovely Antique 19th Century Stoneware Saltglazed Cobalt Blue Drooping Tulip Design 1 Gallon Ovoid Crock. This crock is in Excellent Condition with no chips. Cracks, and or repairs. There is some minor staining, manufactured roughness, and the crock is slightly misformed. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the exceptional condition of this crock. The crock measures 10" tall x 7 1/2" wide x 5 1/4" at the mouth x 5 1/2" at the base and weighs approximately 5lb 4oz. The crock has a great ovoid form with a wonderful cobalt blue bordering design of leaves and drooping tulips. Great applied ear handles and the crock has a hand incised 1 for the gallons. You can feel and see the potter wheel rings on the inside of the crock. Antique Stoneware Advertising Crock Budlong's Pickles WOW WOW 100+ Years OLD
Here is another Rare Advertising Crock. This one is for Budlongs Pickles who was from the Chicago Area. They went out of Business in 1908 from my research. I think this was at least a gallon maybe more. Measures 9" x 10" across One flaw under lip that I'm not sure if it was a bubble in the clay or a chip I don't know please see pictures. Nice piece of antique American history from Ohio OLD CROCK POTTERY BOWL ~ ACTUALLY IT'S A STONEWARE BAKING DISH It's HUGE measuring 10" x 5.5" high AUTHENTIC AND HAS BEEN USED FOR MANY- MANY- YEARS! No cracks ~ has all the original beauty& charm. There is a"blurp" in the nice thick edge. But is was in the making and original to the bowl. The bottom has advertising that says"COOK-RITE COOKIN WARE ECONOMY HEALTH ~ REG U.S. PAT OFF" but I don't see a patent number. I have not cleaned this and looks like it may have been used a lot. It has a raised pattern of LEAVES& PEACHES& FRUIT all the way around the base and fork-marks(like you do on pie crust edges) all the way around the 2" rim and the bottom edge. Has 2 small"lips" to assist as handles. The bottom has raised rings& ... more4 vents to keep it from sitting on the floor of the oven. These were made from the 1930's to 1945 approx. ABSOLUTLEY GORGEOUS IN IT'S NATURAL STATE& ORIGINAL PATINA!
