17 Inch Spelter Seaman Antique Figural Lamp Standing on His Boat
Antique spelter or pot metal seaman stands in his boat holding the rudder in one hand and pointing with the other hand. Anchor with a rope is between his feet on the deck. Wiring looks okay with an old type plug. There is a bronze finish over the metal that has fine patina. Complete with harp but no shade. Figure is 17 inches high to the bottom of the bulb socket. SHABBY ANTIQUE VTG CLOCK TOPPER? LADY STATUE METAL SPELTER?
OMG AMAZING METAL STATUE- crown NOT included. Sorry I think this is a clock topper but I am nto 100% sure. Its quite large and super heavy and its got very intricate detail. Her dress has a gorgeous design and she is holding a pen and her pad actually has a drawing of a mans head on it. Its really awesome. The only issue I see is that on the front the curve underneath her is quite rough. I am sure you can see it in the photos. Other than that its in pretty good shape from what I can see. There is a hole on the one side where I am sure it attached to something, I think a clock. Measures: 13" across at base x about 10.5 tall. Antique Figural Sewing Thimble Holder/Stand Child &French Bull Dog Spelter Metal
In the spotlight for your bidding consideration is this antique figural thimble stand featuring a child with his pet French bull dog! Standing roughly 3 3/4" tall and measuring 4 3/16" long. The scene portrayed is that of a curly haired boy who is petting the head of his dog as a reward for sitting up so nicely. Next to the bully is a thimble shape molded onto the base that acts as a holder for a real thimble. This metal sculpture appears to cast from a spelter. Spelter is a blend of zinc alloys that was used for many 19th and early 20th century cast pieces of a lesser quality, such as figurines and candle sticks. As such, the modeling on this piece is rather crudely finished, though the little dog with collar looks rather good. DESCRIPTION- 618: Looking for a new forever home is this rescued ART NOUVEAU SPELTER(zinc alloy) metal FRENCH NEWEL POST LAMP of a FIGURAL LADY titled"GLOIRE" or Glory in French. Long haired maiden with flowing robes exposes one breast as she raises her arm and gracefully points her finger. She is standing in her bare feet and the sun peeks out from the other side of her robe. Embossed round stamp on piece saying"PARIS" and also"Fabrication Francaise" and"Made in France" with a doubled handled cup logo with an"M" in the center with laurels around it. Light itself has five bendable petal base and a press in/out switch. Flame shaped bulb included. This lamp is in working condition. Older style cord and two prong plug. Pure art nouveau in form, the spelter lady figure is stunning and displays wonderfully. For the most part the lamp is in good vintage condition, note the golden bronze finish is deteriorating in numerous areas and base metal is exposed. This distressing of the finish only adds to its appeal. Her hand looks intact where finger is pointing but note, there appears under magnification to be a tiny sliver of metal missing in her palm, between the thumb and pointed finger, see photo. I had to pay quite a bit to rescue her but she was magnificent and I could not just leave her there. She deserves to be in a home where she is appreciated for her quality and beauty. VINTAGE SEMI-NUDE LADY FIGURAL SPELTER BRONZE BRASS STATUE LAMP, 42" TALL
Lamp measures 42" high. Base is 6" wide, lady is 12" tall. Has four porcelain candlestick style arms(which currently do not tighten properly and lean inward. This looks like a banquet lamp. There is also at top a place for a light bulb but the round globe is missing from it. I believe the body of the lady is spelter with possibly a bronze overlay on the robe and it is painted as well as the base. Very large unusual lamp and definitely a conversation piece. Bergman cold painted Spelter Arab trader with camel (table Cigarette Lighter)
Fantastic cold painted Franz Bergman Arab carpet traders with camel. This stands 7.5 inches tall. And around 6 inches long. The casting and detail is to the highest standard, and is in good original condition, however there is a small crack at the back of the camel's neck, which is shown in the photograph, otherwise this is in excellent condition. This is an original piece and was made as a table lighter. With the body of the camel used for filling with petrol(or similar lighter fluid) and lighter stick which is positioned behind the trader on top of the camel. The pin is removed and scratched along a special strike pad at the side of the carpet to light.

Vintage Tiffany style Arts and Crafts style Painted Spelter ware lamp rewired beautiful. It has a new cord although the socket is vintage. Works perfectly. The on/off switch is strange. It's square. This is a period piece done to emulate Tiffany. A knock off. It is very well made. Solid brass fittings machined perfectly. It has a harp, small, ball finial and no shade. I have not been able to find another like it. Measures 18" to the top of the finial. The body of the lamp is 8 1/2" tall and the diameter is 5 1/2" It's a nice heavy, well made lamp that would beautify any home it illuminates.

The spelter portion of the font has some old repairs-see pics- but they are very minor and sound. The brass font(insert) is in great condition-still retains the old B&H fill cap& wick riser. Slag shade is old& has NO chips or cracks.

This is a beauty and my first figural lamp. But. I'm thinning my collection to make room for new ones so I am letting someone else enjoy her now. She stands 22" tall and is in amazing condition. No breaks, or repairs in the spelter or brass vines. All the leaves are still there as well. She still retains her original base and pull switch, and it still works! The amerina shades are lovely. ONE petal on the shade(see pic#8) has been repaired. I had this lamp nearly 20 years before I noticed it& it is difficult to even photograph it. It is not a distraction.

French Art Deco Book Ends Pair of French spelter* bookends from the art déco era. Featuring lovely birds(most likely sparrows) in a nicely refined style typical of the 1930s. Each piece is mounted on a grayish/white marble base which is 4¾” by 3” wide. And measures 5½” high up to the tip of the elongated tails(by comparison. The tallest book shown in the 1 st photo is just over 7” tall) These statuettes are elegantly cast and finished with a beautifully aged golden patina. They remain in fantastic condition. Without any breaks or crackling. There are a very few tiny chips along the edges of the marble bases. But quite difficult to notice. Imposing 1920's French Art Deco matle clock in'porto nero' black viened marble and translucent light green alabaster with 2 cold-painted spelter pheasants and a pair of matching bookends. In impressive proportions- the clock is 36 cms/ 14" x 28cms/ 11" x 10 cms/4" overall. With the pheasants being 24 cms/ 9 1/2" x 12cms/ nearl 5" and very heavy at around 11kg or 24 pounds(sorry about the shipping costs. Check out my and combine shipping to reduce costs! The original bevelled edge glass is in place. As is the clock mechanism which winds but need attention. Generally the marble and alibaster is in good condition. Many of the corners have small chips missing, but it is all there and none cracked. NO makers mark, very possibly by Miller. The flowers on the column ... moreare painted. And the 6 petal socket holders were originally painted green. Most of the paint is worn off but still visible in a few spots. There are a total of 18 spear shaped crystal prisms on the lamp. 6 per arm. Some chipping on the tips of the prisms, and a few are a slightly different size but hard to notice. This lamp came with a pressed glass insert. I do not know if this was originally part of the lamp or if someone just added it to the lamp, this insert is included with the lamp. Lamp does work. The original cloth wire is still in place on the inside of the lamp, but part of this was re-wired at some point(see photo) As with any old electric item this should be checked out by an electrician before using. The material used in its construction is commonly referred to as“spelter. which the web defines as an alloy in which zinc is the main component. We’re not familiar with this type of metal but what we can tell you is that a magnet doesn’t stick to it and it consists of a dark pewter coloration. There isn’t any damage to the paperweight that we can see. It’s structurally sound without any cracks or missing pieces. Cosmetically it contains the usual minor edge nicks. Tiny dings and lines that are characteristic of an item of this age and material. We consider what we see as use wear and not damage. As always. You are bidding on a pair spelter urns. Most likely from late 18th or early 19th century. The urns. Ewers, pitchers looks like French origin, or may be from Ansonia Clock Co, I am not sure about it. Lots of patina. And looks to be original finish on the metal parts. Appx 17 inch tall, and 5-1/2 inch wide. It seems that one of the urns has repair on rear feet, slightly off balance, but holding good, shown in the last picture. Hard to notice, other wise good condition. Usual wear and nicks with age. They are not perfect and I am not making any sort of claims on them, I am not an expert on these items, so please ask questions. The clock& the clock topper are not included in the auction. They seem to be the Italian man and woman with grapes peasants from the 1940's time frame. They have been repainted, have brighter gold paint, and then some areas of wear showing the old paint and the base metal. The man measures 13 1/4 ins. to the top, the woman 12 3/4 ins. They are unmarked. The man has a broken/cracked top back stem. And he also has a crack in the front part of his lower leg. Not all the way thyrough. The woman has no cracks or breaks.
