This is a Rare antique vintage Art Deco signed Quoizel Pat. Pending spelter cast metal 8" tall Elephant lamp produced by Quoizel Metal Arts by sculptor Arthur Von Frankenberg after his departure from Frankart. The lamp is in good and working condition with it's original cloth cord. There are no breaks or repairs but there are paint chips as seen in photos, this lamp weighs 3 pounds. The fact the Elephant is sitting with it's trunk down makes this lamp rare because this was long considered bad luck and many artists and sculptors opted to not portray the Elephants with their trunk down. Antique Art Deco Spelter Bookends with Faux Ivory Details
This is a couple. Each sitting on an identical bookend made of black marble and gray& maroon marble. They were made in the 1920s or 1930s. Faux ivory faces and limbs& chest on the woman. They each are in great condition overall but have a damaged area. The woman’s arm is broken though still connected. It looks like she has not lost arm, but has lost elbow. The man’s hand that is behind the neck of his musical instrument is missing. See pictures. There is a flaw on the corner of the black marble on the one with the woman(see pic of me pointing to it) Each is about 6” inches by 5.5” inches and 4” inches front to back. There are several restorations as follows: there is a chip that has been repaired in the enamel clock face. Antique L & F Moreau, Cast Spelter "Harvesters" Table Lamp Set-Art Nouveau
A great pair of L& F Moreau spelter and polychrome enamel table lamps. Beautifully sculpted in the art nouveau style. These two are the most beautiful/handsome"Harvesters" you will ever see and they are in pretty nice condition. He' has almost all of his enamel decoration(one small touch up on copper tube) but has been rewired, where'She' is missing quite a bit of the enameling but has what appears to be original wiring. There are shades with these, but with a little hunting, a nice set can be found. They measure about 7 1/4"W at the base x 14 3/4"T to the top of the figures x 33"T to top of the finials. This is a a rare and beautiful. French, stamped and signed, L. F. Moreau bronze spelture statue from the late 1800's. Bronze plate& patinaed spelter edition sculpture. In excellent condition, original with a beautiful patina. The name of the statue is noted on the Bronze plate on the front of the wood base as you'll see in the photos. It reads"VENDANGEUSE" simply translated from French to English meaning"Grape-Picker" then"Par L. et F. Moreau" meaning"made by or created by L. F. Moreau" The last part"Med d' Or translates closely to"Embellished with Gold" As you'll see in the photos the sculpture is signed by L. F. Moreau and also stamped country of origin"FRANCE" This figure was created by L. F. Moreau in the late 1800's and is still in pristine condition. ... moreIt is truly a marvelous and beautiful piece of art. The figure stands 17 and 1/2 inches tall and is approximately 7 and 1/2 inches wide at its widest point. It is a nice large figure with beautiful details and colors. This is a superb wooden oak crucifix with the carved decoration to the circle and base of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly is from the art deco period of the c1920/30s a nd is of black forest origin. Wonderful intricate wood oak carvings around the circle and to the base. Mounted on the intricate carved base with the central carvings. The corpus& INRI are in a spelter. It was part of a recent Winchester house clearance where the owner had links with the cathedral of the city. Winchester was once the medieval capital of England. Art Deco Marble & Spelter Figural Lamp Nightlight Lady Dancer Burlesque Vintage
Here is a lovely little lamp. Approximately 11 inches tall. I have never sold anything like this so I'll do my best to describe it, and hopefully the pictures speak volumes as well. Please feel free to ask questions! The statue of the lady on top is what I believe would be called spelter. She is entirely metal of a dark color which was painted. Or cast, in a silvery finish. The silver is not bright silver, more of a pewter in color. I know this to be the case because there are a few small scratches to this finish(see picture of her shoulder) which show a darker color under the silver finish. The only part of the dancer not silver is her face, which seems to be most likely of celluloid, with painted eyes and lips. There is a tiny dark spot on her nose which I think is from the mold they used on her face. There is no damage to the piece ... morebesides the small scratches in the finish, the worst are on her shoulder, again, please refer to the picture. She's really lovely, I think she is modeled after Marlene Dietrich. The metal figure is bolted onto a piece of white marble. The marble piece is shaped like a drum. The side of the drum is carved and the carving painted with gold to look even more like a drum. The marble is hallowed out and the light is mounted inside. I would suggest rewiring as I believe what is here is original, and probably not to UL standards. However, it seems to work just fine. I put in a new 4 watt night light bulb(included) and the glow of the light through the marble is lovely. The light is mounted with wire, and one of the two mountings is broken(see picture) but still seems very solid. The lamp cord has an Bakelite on/off switch so you don't have to plug and unplug it all the time. There are a few surface scratches on the marble, they may be actual scratches or just how the marble is, I'm not sure. We are pleased to offer this very special pair of antique. Early Art Deco lamps. The lamps dates to the early 1900s and are marked"Ajac" on the underneath. The pair is fashioned of cast, bronzed spelter and feature large, detailed clipper sailing ships. The ships are enroute, probably across the Atlantic. They feature large opened sails with ornate crests on each sail. Below the ships are sea waves that curl and swirl upward and over. Tucked in the center wave is the head of a large fish, dolphin, or sea creature. The nautical theme continues on the lamp bases where the seas are calmer. There are large shells and very large, detailed pairs of dolphins, whales or koi fish which surround the entire base of the lamps. There are wave patterns here as well. The bases are slightly raised or footed. The backs of the lamps are also very ... morenice with the ship's mast detailed. Picture#8 contrasts the front and back of the lamps. The lamps feature long candlestick design with a single bulb operation. The lamps do not have harps or shades. The pair is in very good. Antique condition. They do have an aged patina to the bronze finish. Part of this"antiqued" finish was original to the finish of the lamps to give them an aged appearance. The wiring is old but working. There is some green patina on a couple of the flowers and a small amount on the base! The base is decorated with fruits/berries and leaves!I could find no makers mark! He stands about 23" tall to the top of the shade& he is made of spelter. He is in excellent shape-no damage or repairs. He has a brass Paris foundry stamp(sometimes called a coin) on the back of his base. He has brand new wiring& a rotary switch on the cord. The slag glass shade is awesome. It is opalescent so when lit it has an amazimg warm golden glow that is hard to capture with the camera. Also. Red/blue/green jewels surround the top. The shade is in excellent condition-no chips or cracks. This lamp once graced a newel post in a stately home but is now a table lamp.
