The plain upper portion of the body is embellished with a fine and impressive bright cut engraved crest displaying a stag’s head couped. Between the attires a cross pattée above an Earls coronet and coat of arms quarterly, in the first and forth within a double tressure flory counter-flory three mullets, and to the second and third three cross pattée. The incurved shoulders of this impressive samovar are encircled with fine panels of bright cut engraved floral and leaf ornamentation flanked with bands of reed decoration. The lower portion of the body is embellished with impressive embossed fluted decoration. The decoration to the lower portion incorporates a fine and impressive reed decorated spigot. The spigot retains the impressive original semi-circular shaped carved natural handle. The samovar is fitted with a pair of fine and impressive narrow loop carrying handles embellished with singular leaf designs which are incorporated into the shaped thumbpieces. Nice hand painted piece featuring flowers, fruit, and birds. There are 5 pieces to include the samovar and lid, teapot and lid, and tray. The samovar has brass feet and spout. And the teapot is porcelain. Mostly everything else is metal. The tray measures 15 3/4 inches long, and 9 inches wide. The teapot measures 8 1/2 inches handle to spout, and 5 1/4 inches tall. Antique Imperial Russian Brass on Copper Samovar, Large, with Chimney
Okay. So there is"making tea" and then there is" MAKING TEA. The Russians certainly know how to MAKE TEA. And you'll agree when this Antique Imperial Russian Brass-On-Copper Samovar takes over your buffet at your next Tea Party. This is one MASTERFUL PIECE and it just proves that sometimes BIGGER is BETTER. Let's go over this one carefully: It's truly of Antique Russian origin: we can't read the maker's stamp- because it's in Russian-but it looks like this was made sometime before 1900. It stands a whopping 20 inches tall. It is 13 1/2 inches wide from handle to handle and 11 inches from front spigot to back. It's chimney-which is often missing-in included. It has a few evidences of"dinging" around the edge. But the chimney still fits on the top easily. Handle is wooden, and has a grain-wise ... morecrack, but it still has full integrity. The top still has its Steam Valves and they appear to operate as intended. You can still remove the top"seal" and look into the body of the Samovar(where the fuel and water go. Seal is good. Inside. The fuel holder(coal or charcoal) is intact and in excellent condition. There is a white-ish corrosion on the fuel"cell" and inside the water reservoir, but we personally would not feel a bit squeamish about scouring out the insides and ACTUALLY USING THIS Big Boy for making some hot water! The bottom grate. Used to keep the charcoal from dropping on your fine linen table cloth-is indeed missing. That's very typical for Antique Samovars. The grate was the part that underwent the most"wear and tear" and usually disintegrated. We had a watchmaker tell us that we could easily buy a brass replacement"grate" at any hardware store. And fashion a new one, with a little bit of creativity of course. That is if you want to actually FIRE THIS BIG BOY UP! which we would do! Vintage Persian Brass Samovar Rare 5 Piece Hand Decorated Matched Set
This samovar is appox 16" tall. Not including the teapot perched on top as in the photo. This is a rare and exquisite matching set that includes the teapot, tray, bowl and water pitcher as well as the main unit. It oringinally had an electrical cord with a European style 220v plug. The cord has been cut off at the point where it enters the unit but I still have it and it could probably be easily re-attached if desired. The base is slightly bent(from the 1994 Northridge, California earthquake) but otherwise it is in excellent condition. I received this set as a gift from a Persian taxi driver while working as a dispatcher in Los Angeles about 30 years ago, so I know it's at least that old, but unsure of its actual age. Imperial Russian Samovar. Collectors piece.
This is an old Russian Samovar we brought out of Russian when we lived there in the 90's. We had to get Ministry of Culture approval to bring it out. Please note the Tsarist double-headed eagle as well as the reference to the seals on lid"Factory of Br. Vorontsov in Tula. 1882" On body"Honorary Citizens Brothers Vorontsov in Tula" as well as stamps indicating exhibitions where the Samovar was displayed. The Samovar is in excellent antique condition and is an excellent show piece for collectors.

RARE Antique Imperial Russian Samovar 9 Award Medallions Exhibition Seals 1890's
This is a rare antique Imperial Russian Samovar. There are 9 Award Medallions/Exhibition Seals dating from 1893 to 1900. This samovar is approximately 20” high by 13” wide to the handle’s edge. I don’t know anything about Samovars. This has been in my wife’s family for a long time. I will describe that flaws that I can see: The spout is bent slightly to the side. And the spigot valve is missing. There are some dents/dings in the barrel and on the top. The wooden top pieces(not sure what they’re for, maybe handles to open the top? each have a small crack in them. The door and turn-latch under the bottom seem to work fine, as does the small cover over what appears to be a vent hole on top. The inside chimney looks intact. The brass finish is aged. However. I did clean an area on the top(see picture) with a non-abrasive brass cleaner and it ... morecleans up very nicely– I didn’t expect it to come up this bright and shiny. With a little work this should come up quite nicely– but I don’t want to do any more in case I’m inadvertently doing something wrong. Check out the pictures. Overall it measures about 4 1/4" high. 6 1/2" from the end of the handle to the very end of the spout. Antique Elegant Samovar Coffee Pot Tea Urn w/ burner Pat. 1869 Silverplate(?)
This came from my grandmother’s estate. She lived in Chevy Chase MD and loved antiques. Note the elegant handles and trim! There are no maker’s marks. A small“B” is scratched on the inside of the lid and on the bottom of the burner. My grandmother’s name started with a“B” So I’m pretty sure she initialed them. The only other marking I see is on the faucet: Patent Jan’y 26 1869” The surface is unpolished and I’ve left it alone to preserve the patina. I suspect it’s silverplate. But can’t say for sure. C. 1820 ? Regency Sheffield Silver on Copper Tea Urn Samovar Barrel Cask form
This is a very scarce form of tea or hot water urn. I did some online research and the only examples of this i found were lots at christies and sothebys. This is beautiful old Sheffield with some copper gleaming through. There is one spot where the silver is entirely rubbed off(In the first photo. About 1 1/2" above the horizontal band and 1 1/2" from the left edge you can make out that worn area) The barrel measures 10.5" long and the spigot extends another 4.5" long. The legs have a wonderful buglike or animal like appearance. However a couple of them have been bent somewhat so the barrel leans a little bit. Its the coolest design. Silver Plated Samovar - possibly 19th century
This silver samovar is beautiful! I did some research and it may be from the 19th century. It stands 18 inches high and about 9 1/2 inches wide at the handles. It has a little faucet or spigot with a white handle made of horn or ivory. Unfortunately. The spigot leaks but can be repaired. The interior is very clean and has a nice finish for hot or cold liquids. However, I recommend that it be used for decorative purposes only since it is such a lovely antique piece. The surface is etched with swirling leaves, flowers, and other shapes. There are two small bunches of grapes at the handle at the top. The center surface on the front of the samovar is meant to be etched with initials but remains blank. The interior is finished to hold liquid. Antique Meriden Coffee Urn/ Samovar. Most likely silverplated Engraved on the bottom is the year 1866 and the number 16 under the date Stands 16" high without lid and 18" high with the lid on Widest part of urn measures 7" The top opening measures 5" There appears to be lion heads on the top of each of the four legs Because it's 147 years old. It has many years of patina on it. I was going to try to polish it, but I will let the winning bidder decide if they want to polish it or not. There is a dent on the front above the spout which can be seen in the first two photos and a smaller one on the back. The urn itself weighs 5 lbs. 13oz. Thank you for looking.

It is formed as an elegant classical urn and is in good original condition with light wear consistent with its age. The metalwork is beautifuly worked with ornate decoration. It holds approx 5 pints. The Tea Urn has a unique early American design with tasseled wreaths, cannon ball feet, acorn finial, and amazing lion figural spigot spout. The Tea Urn also has a very interesting tree designed family Armorial. The Tea Urn is completely hand made throughout, and of incredible quality from top to bottom. You can even see the cast line in the acorn finial where it was made in two pieces and then fused together like an 18th century candlestick would have been made. The Tea Urn tests to be solid.800 grade coin silver throughout. The Tea Urn comes from a prominent Ottawa Family estate, which had a vast amount of important early silver examples. MUSEUM QUALITY 19th C Egyptian Revival Sheffield Silver Plate Samovar Tea Urn
I have up for sale an absolutely wonderful vintage. To the best of my knowledge early 19th Century, unsigned but attributed to Sheffield Plate or atleast British in origin, Egyptian Revival Samovar Tea Urn. This is not an area of personal expertise but from the ornamental designs and item type, I believe that the urn would date from approx 1800- 1815, probably later due to the amount of ornamentation. I did some research on this and similar examples were from approx 1815 as the amount of decoration increased, shortly after this the style changed, no longer having the ball feet and long slender legs.It may date as to as far as 1850 but I believe it is earlier. The Arab Crescent is representative of the Ottoman Empire and the other design features consistent with Silver of the 19th Century. I would appreciate any input from those more knowledgeable. ... moreThere are no manufacturer markings that I can see. The only marking is the word Patent which is located on the front of the spigot. Recently I read an article written specifically about Tea Urns in Sheffield Plate, by Gianmarco Baldini of the ASCAS Association of Collectors of Antique Silver, in the article a very similar urn was pictured- dated to 1810- also noted was that he said that Old Sheffield Plate was never marked. The interior is not lined and there is no heating device. This urn is very early. Made prior to the time when a burner was used for the heat. The majority of tea urns were made with no apparatus for keeping the contents hot. The idea was to heat a piece of iron and insert it in a small container fitted to the inside of the urn. In later version the tea urn was fitted with an internal cylinder for the charcoal. The Urn stands approx 17" to the top of the Crescent Finial. Approx 11" across the Ring Pull Handles, approx 13" from back to front spigot. Te approximate weight is 11 lbs. The sphinx figure on the bottom section is bolted into place from the underside. Antique Vaseline Glass Grape Etch Samovar Decanter Urn in Silverplate
Here is a rare and beautiful antique samovar decanter made in the 1920's. I have seen this piece attributed to both Cambridge Glass and Paden City Glass. It is a large Vaseline glass urn with an etching of grapes. Leaves and vines on the front. The samovar sits in a handled silverplate holder. It stands 14" high with the top off. There is decorative metal banding around the top and bottom. The handles are secured with metal banding and screws. The spigot works. The glass is yellow-green Vaseline and glows brightly under a black light. See photo 12. The silverplate has wear. The bottom is signed Century Silverplate in a circle. The top is heavy metal, but I do not think it is silverplate. Condition is excellent for the glass. There are no chips, cracks or stains. This is a great piece that is not often seen. It is 26' tall-10' wide-13' deep. It comes complete with tray. It does have a few dents and I took it to a repairman that said it could be fixed. I am leaving that up to the new owner. Antique Indian Copper Samovar Beautiful. Intricate Carved Design Up for auction is a beautifully carved/etched antique copper Indian samovar that appears to be hand-made. This samovar was silver plated at one time but most has worn off showing mostly copper. The carvings and etchings are magnificent and really reflects the craftsmanship put into the piece when it was made. The handle is solid and has a nice leaf/vine like design. It is also stamped India on the bottom. This is a large samovar that measure 15" tall and 12" across the widest section. The samovar does show it's age and is non-functional.
