Mid Century Metawa Dutch Pewter Trophy Pitcher, Lido 14 Sailing Championship S.M
This is a wonderful example of Mid Century Modern Euro styling in this pewter pitcher made by Metawa of Holland. What makes this particular piece especially interesting and unique is the very nice engraving that indicates the pitcher was awarded as a first prize in the Santa Monica Lido 14 Sailing Championship in 1965. This race continues even to this day. But most likely the trophies these days are made in China! Pitcher is in good vintage condition, but you will note a few scratches on the surface in the photos and a couple of small dents from use and enjoyment over the years that you may or may not be able to discern in the photos. Pitcher is sold"as is" and measures about 12 inches high.

It has a white pottery inkwell inside but I do not think that this original to the inkwell as I do not think this type of inkwel had an addition inset inkwell but the ink would have been poured directly into the well. The inkwell is in original condition with only wear that you would expect to find on a piece of this age and vintage. The hinge to the inkwell is still good with no damage and still works well. The base measures 6" across and stands 2" tall. It looks as though it has had a cover stuck to the base but this is no longer there. For sale is what we believe to be an Arts& Crafts Pewter Beaker which we date to circa 1900. There is some raised design work around the item and on the base it is marked with the following- 20X TN3 OBX which can barely be seen. But someone has scratched these same marks on the base more recently above the originals. It measures approx 5"1/8 in height and 3"3/4 across the top. A Very Unusual but still STYLISH ART NOUVEAU PEWTER VASE. Produced by the most famous if short lived German designer& maker of"ORIVIT" Circa 1900, the vase is numbered 2183. A quite small& unusual style Art Nouveau vase from the famous maker of ORIVIT from Germany that went bankrupt in 1905& was then purchased by the larger firm of"WMF" who both produced many great items in the Jugendstil or Art Nouveau form. There is the makers marks to the base of"ORIVIT" the number"2183" it has three handles& the typically swirly& floral Art Nouveau patterns to the three sections of the vases body, it has a circular base which it stands on& was originally plated in a silver& gilt finish, but most of this plating has worn off over time. A Very TALL. ELEGANT& STYLISH ART NOUVEAU PEWTER VASE, Circa 1910. A really super vase most probably produced by a European maker as I cannot see any makers marks to it anywhere. I t has a typically swirly Art Nouveau pattern to the upper part of the vase. With a floral pattern at the base of the body& was originally plated in a silver finish but most of this plating has worn off the main body, but there is still quite a bit to the lower parts(see photos) I can see only one very small dent to the base area of the main body of the vase, also when looking at it from one angle the vase appears not to be straight/upright, but as you turn it around it seems straight from the other angles, I cannot see any reason for this as in the base been damaged or the stem! The top rim seems to be still pretty circular with no flat spot areas(see photos) ... moresize is 14" high x 3.5" diameter& o verall the vase is in GC to GC+ for its age. Antique Pewter Medicine Spoon (Hinge Top)
Offered is a very ancient looking. Pewter, hinged medicine spoon that may be French in origin. Medicine was poured into the bowl of the spoon, and the lid replaced. The tip of the spoon was then put into the patient's mouth and the medicine administered. The only other advertisements of this type of spoon that I've seen all say French in origin.not much else is known about this item. It has been in the family collection for over 40 years and bears the rough look of its many years. As the photos indicate. What you see is what you get. The spoon shows wear but is otherwise in perfectly good working condition. There are no manufacturer marks anywhere on the spoon, nor are there any identifiable marks as to origin, year, or manufacturer. It measures approximately 5 13/16" x 1 1/8" x 9/16"

Rare small C1780 Pewter Syringe–good condition This is approximately 11cms long with the plunger depressed. It is in excellent condition with light marks commensurate with age. The plunger travels fairly freely and the seal is provided by tightly wound string on the plunger and this is probably getting a little fragile due to it's age. String bound seals were typical of 18th century syringes. It was used to administer mercury to sufferers of syphilis(aka a syphilis syringe)as until 1928 and the development of penicillin syphilis was an incurable disease. Sadly mercury poisoning often resulted. Giving rise to the expression" A night with Venus a lifetime with Mercury" Syphilis was classed as an occupational hazard for sailors and men at sea, these syringes are commonly found on shipwrecks. Marked with"Sargent" and"3261" It's HEAVY cast metal- very high quality. 11 3/4" long, screws set at 8 1/4" vertically, 2 1/4" horizontally. Fair antique condition, some scuffs and dings as seen in photos, and some paint at edges. This item is one of many from a fascinating local estate- the man worked at a Portland metals recycling company for 40 years. And would often squirrel away interesting finds from his job. Antique pewter spoons set of 8 Tudor Rose hallmark 1600s 17th c renaissance
This collection of 8 pewter spoons hails from 17th century England! They have a round bowl. A slip-top handle, and are hallmarked with a Tudor Rose in the bowl at the base of the handle. This style of spoon developed in the early-to-mid 1600s and was used for about a century. Because of it's unadorned style it later became known as a Puritan spoon. The Rose and Crown mark served as a mark of quality or mark of export on English goods. These have slight scratches, wear to the hallmarks, and some dings and dents that come with age. I do not believe they are modern reproductions. Please examine the pictures carefully, as these are the same spoons you will receive.
