This is clearly hallmarked with the lion passant sterling silver mark, the anchor town mark for Birmingham, and the date letter'F' for 1930. The lid fits onto its original ten-sided crystal glass body. This measures 8.2 cm in height and 4.0 cm in width. The silver lid weighs 12 grams or 0.38 troy ounces. The total weight is 85 grams. The condition is generally excellent. EARLY 1900s CUT GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE no reserve
PICTURES SHOW DETAILS! Up for your consideration is this EARLY 1900s PERIOD cut clear glass perfume bottle with a screw on top. The top no longer screws on due to the fact of after all the years it was taken on& off. And probably picked up& put down, the top has almost a split on one side. You can see in the close up the inside of the top is a bit bent where the screw area was. It might not be the original top. But this is how I purchased it from a private NY Estate. You can also see the top of the neck where the metal screw part is. The inside of the neck is further down than flush. You can see marks around the whole bottom of the screw part. However. The bottle inside the bottle, and the glass neck is intact and could still hold perfume. There looks to be a trace of perfume color on the bottom. But I don't smell any scent. This ... moreperfume bottle was not made to stand up. Therefore, it lyes on its front or back. The front. Back, and sides of the bottle are in nice condition for its age. There are no big chips or cracks. Only very small where spots that is normal for a piece over 100 years old. The bottle measures 4 1/8" long. 1 5/8" at its widest point, and 3/4" deep. With swirling detailing on the body and has a clear glass stopper with a two sided spout. It is in good condition with no chips or scratches on bottle and only a sheared bottom on stopper. This item is marked for silver from Denmark with date mark 1923 for.826 fine silver; American standard sterling silver is.925 fine, so there is less silver in this alloy. With dual sided circular glass panels. the actual perfume bottle screws into the top and removes. they both have cork tops. inside the panels there is also very ornate detailing. The paper sticker label has taken some knocks, but what is left is preserved well. You can see it reads, Royal Abstract- Registered 1866" On the borders of the triangle it says, Perfume Trademark The Eastman Bro Co" There is a blank ribbon area under the word"Extract" that could be for someone to write their name. This is what they call a lay down bottle. Even though it has a flat bottom and it does stand very well. It is too risky to leave up, so lay it ... moredown. It has an interesting and unique shape design that was quite original in its day. There are no breaks, cracks, or chips. While I was taking these photos, I found a period cork for it from one of my other old bottles. This is a blown in mold miniature bottle. Sorry. It is clearly old as the glaze has started crazing which I think you can see in the second photo. The bottle measures 3 3/8" high(not including the cork. Which is not original) It depicts Charles Dickens' Old Curiosity Shop" on the front and underneath it says"Dickens' Old Curiosity Shop-London" then"Made in England. Antique French Baccarat Cut Glass Perfume Bottle-ca.1900's /1800's?
HI. UP FOR AUCTION we have a Stunning Antique French Baccarat Cut Glass Perfume Bottle. The bottle is 10-sided with 5 horizontal rings cut around the cylinder. Plus each of the 10 sides are faceted. Quite complicated. Each horizontal cut had gold leafing which is mostly faded away, depends on how the light catches the bottle. There is also a star or snowflake motif going around the center facets of the bottle. Some are more worn than others. There is a small ground indentation on the bottom of the bottle. I believe a pontil mark which was ground down so the bottle would sit flat. A small chip on the end of the stopper. The size of the bottle is 5 1/2" to the top of the stopper. 4" to the top of the bottle lip. And the bottle is 1 3/4" wide. Check out the pictures and good luck. This auction is for the smallest scent bottle I have seen. It is 1" in hight(with cap) 5/8" across the glass, and about 1/4" deep. It is in a great amber pattern glass. It is in wonderful shape, The sterling silver(unmarked) cap is loose from age and use. This can be tightend by a jeweler, or someone with the correct insterments. I am not going to try.
