Fine Staffordshire Pearlware ~ Variant Tobacco Leaf~ Teapot & Lid c.1810
Beautiful Staffordshire Pearlware Teap Pot The tea pot is in almost mint condition. I have found only 1 stress crack on the spout. The lid has a few chips under the enamel does not affect the beauty of this pot. The paint is bright and flawless. It appears to be a variant of a tobacco leaf. About 6" to top of finial ~ about 9" from spout to handle approx 5" across the middle. The enamels and painting are in excellent bright condition and the pot itself has clean white pottery. Please view all of the pictures and ask any questions you may have. Please Check my feedback and Bid with Confidence! HAPPY BIDDDING! On Apr-13-13 at 16:40:21 PDT. Antique PearlWare Rose Border oval porcelain pedestal plate circa 1800's roses
For your consideration is an antique oval pedestal plate. Marked Pearl Ware. Pearlware started being produced in 1779 and continued until around 1840. By 1820 Pearlware was in decline. I am not sure how old these dishes are. But are at least 150 years old. Pearlware was started by Staffordshire and Wedgwood later improved. I believe these are Wedgwood as they do not have the cream tint in them. They have scalloped edges and are just beautiful. Pattern is Rose Border. Signed and the number 3573 is on each one. The oval dish, measuring 9 1/2" by 9" and rises about 3" great shape. Dishes are concave, not flat plates. Beautiful white background with a pink outside and gold trim and hand painted primrose flowers on the top and bottom. Josiah Wedgwood in a response to a comment by Lady Dartmouth that she and her friends were tired ... moreof the creamware. So thee boy worked on developing a formula which used traces of cobalt to achieve a white color. It also provided a good base for bright colors. Each piece was hand painted and fired at very high temperatures. Some crazing on these, but that is to be expected on a piece this old. What a wonderful addition for any collector. Great for any entertainer to make a statement. These are very rare to find and becoming a real collectors item. Insurance is added to the shipping total. Make sure to check out my other listings for the matching pieces to this one. Please email with any questions. No returns unless item is not as described. Pictures are part of the description. Staffordshire Pearlware Leeds Type Hand Painted Cup& Saucer c1825 ~ Leeds Type Gaudy Dutch Flower Decoration ~ Marked WOOD Enoch Wood& Sons ~ Saucer is 5 3/4" in diameter ~ Cup is 2 3/8" high by 3 3/4" across the lip A Staffordshire hand painted cup and saucer set usually called Leeds or Pratt type but this is marked'WOOD' on the saucer and is made by Enoch Wood& Sons 1818-1846. The painted decoration is a large yellow flower with circular cobalt blue petals with moss green leaves with two yellow buds coming from each flower. Not seen this type of decoration before but would fit in nicely with any collection of early Gaudy Dutch or folk type Staffordshire. The rim of the suacer and cup is also painted cobalt blue. The saucer is in excellent condition without any issues or damage. The cup has a fine hairline ... morethat goes through coming from the rim with some pale yellow staining around the top on one side; this isn't over paint or old restoration; the pottery is stained and only on the inside there. There is another small patch of beige stain seen in second pic below. Both of those stains could probably be removed with a professional peroxide bath. Despite the issues with the cup. This set is fantastic on display. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Please see the other English/ Historical Staffordshire/ porcelain/ pottery/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed.

Rare EARTHWORM MOCHAWARE English MUG w/ PEWTER LID Dated 1862 PEARLWARE
Just purchased at a sale this morning.it is a SHELF PIECE. But what a beauty. The colors are so vibrant! Very Large! The earthworm design on this Mochaware is rarer than the others and the mug itself with the pewter lid has no cracks or chips or hairlines, just lots and lots of crazing from age. The handle has been repaired, quite badly, in a number of places, so this piece is being sold in AS FOUND condition. Please email if you require any additional info.I will be happy to answer any questions you have. The measurements are 4 1/4" diameter(just over) and 8 1/4" high INCLUDING finial. There is discoloration along the bottom and I believe most of that is glue residue from the repair of the handle. Other discoloration found, totally appropriate to age and use. As stated, this is a wonderful shelf piece, being sold with damage. Dated ... more1862. If Mint, we all know it would be well over $1,000. Have the handle fixed! Small Antique Georgian Era Creamware Pearlware Teapot 3.75" X 5.5" Folk Art
Lovely little antique teapot! Single-serving size; approx. 3.75" tall X 5.5" spout to handle. I believe this is Creamware. And that it dates to the late 1700's- early 1800's. But after 25 years in the antiques business I have to say I rarely get anything this old, so please take a look at the photos and use your own expert judgment. There are small chips to the top rim, and a few on the edge of the lid. The spout has some teensy-tiny chips, more of a"roughness" to it, but not bad. It has very light crazing. Overall it is in nice, displayable condition. I do not add any handling fees; I try to charge you what the Post Office is going to charge me. I will be happy to combine purchases for the best shipping cost. Washington State residents pay sales tax. Payment is due within 5 days of auction end. Powered by The ... morefree listing tool. Antique English Pearlware blue feather-edge pottery sauce boat c1790
Antique English Pearlware blue feather-edge molded pottery sauce boat with simple looped handle and blue-edged foot rim. c1790 CONDITION: No restoration MEASUREMENTS: 6 3/4” x 2 3/4” A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON PEARLWARE: Josiah Wedgwood has traditionally been given the credit for"creating" what he referred to as"pearl ware. This ware was essentially the same ceramic composition as creamware with the added component of a small quantiry of cobalt. The addition of the cobalt. Gave the pottery a bluish cast to the glaze. Pearlware was used as the base for Prattware, Spatter and Spongeware, Luster, and many transfer-printed wares. Because in some cases, the quantity of cobalt is truly slight, it can be difficult to determine whether or not the piece is pearlware. If you are ever faced with this situation, just turn the piece over and ... morelook for the blue pooling; identifiying the cobalt blue glaze over the whitish body is regarded as the single most important diagnostic feature. The earliest forms of Pearlware are dated to around 1775. Please let us know if you have any questions. And. If you are ever in the Wilton, CT area, we would love to have you visit our shop. Miniature Pearlware Platter 1820 PASTORAL COTTAGE COW Staffordshire Transferware
800x600 Rare Child's Miniature Pearlware Platter COTTAGE SCENERY Staffordshire England c.1830 This is an extremely rare historical Staffordshire miniature platter or meat plate. C. 1830. It was made as part of a complete children's toy transferware dinner service. The gently scalloped oval tray measures 4-3/8 inches long with a flared rim and flat bottom. The piece is transfer printed in a rich cobalt blue with a pearlware glaze. The platter is impeccably potted and finely detailed. Depicting the view of a thatched roof cottage with cows grazing in the front yard, and people standing in the backyard, which has a distant view of a church steeple. The figural imagery is so large that it spills over the rim with no room left for a decorative border. The pattern name is unknown and the exact maker has not been identified. The pattern ... moreis illustrated and discussed on page 122 of Lorraine Punchard’s book Playtime Pottery& Porcelain from the United Kingdom& the United States. The quality of the form and detailing of the image is far superior to what would be expected on this diminutive sized piece. A sticker on the back of the platter identifies it as part of the“Sheila French Collection. The platter is in great condition. With a fleabite to the glaze at 4 o'clock and no chips, cracks or repairs. Stilt marks front and back, and minor imperfections original to the making and typical of these early wares, but outstanding overall considering age and scarcity of the form and pattern. Examples are extremely hard to come by. The platter will make a fine addition to any collection of childrens wares or miniature doll house transferware. We are also other early miniature transferwares to mix and match. We are pleased to offer FREE domestic(USA) shipping with this purchase. Please send us an email with any questions or if you would like to see additional photos. Thank you for bidding! International Buyers– Please Note: Most of our merchandise is over 100 years old. Antique Pearlware Pottery Coffee Pot Transferware, Staffordshire? -damaged lid
Antique English Pearlware Coffee Pot Welcome to my auction! For your consideration is an unmarked antique Pearlware pottery coffee pot. Made in England(perhaps Staffordshire) during the very early 19th century. Blue and white transfer printed decoration. The glaze has a slight bluish tint, mainly on the lid and in the areas of the body where the cobalt has pooled. Measures 12.25 inches to the top of the lid finial; the body is about 9 inches tall. Total weight is 2 pounds and 9 ounces. Condition: The dome shaped lid has a large break on one side. As well as a"stable" hairline crack stemming from this area. The spout has a chip on the tip, and there is a glaze chip a bit farther down. There is some wear to the glaze on the upper right edge of the handle and a glaze chip to the bottom of the handle. Otherwise, the body of this item ... moreis in relatively good condition with no cracks or other major damages.
