Large Staffordshire Pearlware ~ FLOWERS & BUTTERFLYS ~Well Tree Platter c1820 NR
English Staffordshire Pearlware Dark- Medium Blue Transferware Well& Tree Platter c1820 ~ Large Vase of Flowers with Bird and Butterflies ~ Unknown Maker ~ 19" long x 14 1/2" wide ~ about 2 3/4" deep ~ weighs almost 7 pounds This may be a known pattern but I don't know it. The scrolling border with cross shape diaper pattern and flowers reminds me of Spode patterns but this is unmarked, so I can't be sure. It has the same medium to dark blue color of early Spode I've had it could be any number of early Staffordshire potters who produced these types lush floral transferware. This is a large, stunning platter that is gorgeous on display but also useful at a party. It's in excellent condition with a few very minor issues that are mentioned for accuracy. In excellent condition; the face is very clean and glossy. ... moreThere are one or two small glaze pops or pin size holes I've pointed arrows to in pics below and one pale, short hairline. The back has some all over crazing but nothing that needs attention; the foot rims and spot where the belly rests have wear. There are no chips. Cracks or restoration and all the surfaces are smooth. Below; this very pale short hairline is 1/2" long and it very shallow; it is mentioned for accuracy. So is the tiny glaze pop in the border. Above; another tiny glaze pop. Below; beside crazing to the glaze there is only some wear on the foot rims and the spot where it rests on the table. No damage. Thanks for looking. No Reserve! Antique Pearlware Silver Lustre Pottery Earthenware Coffee/Tea Pot, Transferware

Most likely made in England during the early-to-mid 19th century. Brown transfer printed decoration with a seated lady and anchor. Platinum or silver lustre trim and decoration. The cream colored glaze has a slightly bluish tint, especially on the base where the cobalt has pooled. Measures about 11 inches to the top of the lid finial; the body is about 8.75 inches tall. Total weight is 2 pounds and 3 ounces. Condition: There are quite a few condition issues with this coffee pot. But this is still quite an interesting and decorative piece. There's a hole in the body(to the left of one of the transfer printed decorations) and a couple of tiny hairlines stemming from this area. There ... moreare at least three rim chips and three short hairline cracks to the top opening. The spout also has a couple of chips. And there is one chip on the lid near the silver lustre trim. Antique English Pearlware Ceramic enamel decorated pottery milk jug, c1800-1820
Antique English Pearlware Ceramic Polychrome overglaze enamel decorated pottery milk jug with an Oriental lady walking in a garden. On one side, and foliate design on the other. The decoration is in vibrant pink, green, blue and iron red. The pitcher has a sparrow spout and a simple looped handle both are enamel decorated, the handle with an iron red foliate design. The foot is rimmed in blue. c1800-1820. There are no factory or maker's marks but this milk jug is most likely from the Leeds Pottery. CONDITION: Minor glaze wear. No restoration. Measurements: 5 1/2" tall and 5" wide. A little background on Pearlware Josiah Wedgwood has traditionally been given the credit for"creating" what he referred to as"pearl ware. This ware was essentially the same ceramic composition as creamware with the added component of ... morea small quantiry of cobalt. The addition of the cobalt. Gave the pottery a bluish cast to the glaze. Pearlware was used as the base for Prattware, Spatter and Spongeware, Luster, and many transfer-printed wares. Because in some cases, the quantity of cobalt is truly slight, it can be difficult to determine whether or not the piece is pearlware. If you are ever faced with this situation, just turn the piece over and look for the blue pooling; identifiying the cobalt blue glaze over the whitish body is regarded as the single most important diagnostic feature. The earliest forms of Pearlware are dated to around 1775. Please let us know if you have any questions. And. If you are ever in the Wilton, CT area, we would love to have you visit our shop. Ebay now has rules that all sellers MUST ship items for which they have been paid within one business day without exception. Those who follow my sales and have bought from me over the years know that I have always had a policy of shipping within 24 hours of a sale(see my feedback) However, there are times when I am out of town unexpectedly for a house call, an auction or an estate call and it simply is not possible to get to the post office in time. Also, if you find that there is more than one item you are interested in bidding on over a given time period and would like to take advantage of combined shipping, please again, DO NOT pay me until the last of those items you're watching has finished. I will then send you an invoice with an adjusted shipping fee which saves on postage. I never charge a"handling fee" I would rather wait a few days on a payment and extend you the advantage of lower shipping fees than to be paid immediately- not ship- and then be scored negatively by eBay for not shipping soon enough. RARE STAFFORDSHIRE PEARLWARE SOFT PASTE TEAPOT AND SUGAR BOWL, BEAUTIFUL!
I AM NO EXPERT AT ANTIQUE POTTERY. AND IF ANYONE VIEWING THESE CAN CORRECT ANY ERRORS IN MY LISTING, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.AS WELL AS, IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME ADDED INFORMATION. THESE WERE PURCHASED BY MY DAD AROUND THE 1970'S IN LANCASTER CO. PA. THEY ARE IN GREAT CONDITION, CONSIDERING THAT I WOULD PLACE THEM AROUND 1825. PLEASE EXAMINE THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY, AS THEY ARE THE MAIN PART OF THE DESCRIPTION. FIRST. THE TEAPOT. AS YOU CAN SEE, IT HAS HEAVY OVERALL CRAZING, AND THE PEARLWARE GLAZE IS VERY OBVIOUS. THE FINIAL ON THE LID HAS BEEN REPAIRED. THERE ARE 2 VERY SMALL SHIPS TO THE INSIDE OF THE RIM OF THE BODY OF THE TEAPOT. THERE ARE 2 VERY MINOR ROUGH SPOTS ON THE BASE. THE SPOUT HAS SOME FLEA BITES TO THE UPPER LIP, THAT ARE HARDLY WORTH MENTIONING. YOU WILL SEE SOME LOSS OF PAINT ON BOTH SIDES. ANY OTHER MARKS ARE FROM THE MANUFACTURING ... morePROCESS, I BELIEVE. YOU CAN MAKE OUT THE NUMBER"103" AND THE NUMBER"12" ON THE BOTTOM. IT IS A LARGE PIECE, MEASURING APPROXIMATELY 11" WIDE BY 7 1/2" TALL. THE SUGAR BOWL HAS CRAZING. BUT IT'S NOT AS SEVERE AS ON THE TEAPOT. NOTE IN PHOTOS THAT THE LID HAS HAD A REPAIR ON THE EDGE, AND SOME ROUGHNESS ON THE INNER LIP. THE BODY HAS SOME LOSS OF PAINT, AND THE INSIDE RIM HAS SOME VERY MINOR CHIPPING. THERE IS A ROUGH SPOT ABOUT 2" LONG ON WHAT I GUESS YOU WOULD CALL THE LOWER COLLAR. THE HANDLES EACH HAVE SOME VERY MINOR ROUGH SPOTS. ANY OTHER FLAWS WOULD BE IN MANUFACTURING. THE BOTTOM IS ALSO MARKED WITH THE NUMBER"103" AND HAS AN IMPRESSED LETTER"M" IT MEASURES ABOUT 7" TALL AND 7 1/2" WIDE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MATCHING PIECES FOR DECADES. NOW. I'M AT A POINT IN MY LIFE THAT I AM DOWN SIZING, AND DO NOT DO MUCH COLLECTING. AS ALWAYS. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! THAT WAY, WE WILL BOTH BE HAPPY. I DO MY VERY BEST TO DESCRI BE ALL OF MY LISTINGS AS ACCURATELY AS I POSSIBLY CAN. TERMS RETURNS WILL BE ACCPETED IF THE ITEM IS NOT AS DESCRIBED. I ACCEPT PAYPAL ONLY. AND PAYMENT IS EXPECTED W
