BROWN BANDED PEARLWARE /CREAMWARE MILK PITCHER-BLUE & BROWN SLIP DECORATED BANDS
Offered for Auction: Brown Slip Banded Pearlware/ Creamware Milk Pitcher. The pitcher appears to have some age. However I do not know if it is from the early to mid 19th C or a later reproduction as it is unmarked. The bands are slightly raised and the pitcher has an all over glossy finish. There is a blue hue to the glaze so I'm leaning toward pearlware, however I am not an expert. Condition: Fair given its age and use. The pitcher has several nicks. Glaze loss and abrasions around the rim. There are surface scratches, discoloration and glaze imperfections. There are several slip voids in the colored bands. The foot rim is uneven and there are several small nicks and excess clay. The spout has a firing crack in the surface as shown. The handle has several errant blue and brown marks and on the body there is a circular dark stain in the ... morebrown band. The body of the pitcher measures 4 1/8" H x 2 7/8" W at the rim and the girth is about 3 1/2" in diameter, the length from handle to spout is 4 7/8" L and the height with the handle is 4 1/4" H and it weighs 10 oz A nice addition to anyone's collection Payment Method: PayPal Please Shipping: USPS Priority or Express I will combine postage with other items if they are small and lightweight and fit easily into the same box. FABULOUS STAFFORDSHIRE SOFT PASTE PEARLWARE TEAPOT, ADAMS TYPE VARIENT, NICE!
THE PHOTOS ARE THE MAIN PART OF THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS LOVELY TEAPOT. SO PLEASE USE THE ZOOM FEATURE AND EXAMINE THEM CAREFULLY. I'M NO EXPERT, I GOT THIS FROM MY FATHER ABOUT 25 YEARS AGO. HE BOUGHT IT IN THE 1970'S IN AN ANTIQUE STORE IN NEW MARKET, MD. FOR ITS AGE. WHICH I THINK IS AROUND 1825, IT IS IN GREAT CONDITION. OTHER THAN THE WONDERFUL DESIGN OF THE BODY, THE CONDITION SHOWS ALMOST NO LOSS OF PAINT. THERE ARE SOME MINOR FLEA BITES AND ROUGH SPOTS. THE FINIAL IS INTACT. AS IS THE HANDLE. THE SPOUT SHOWS A TINY CHIP, AND IN CLOSELY EXAMINING IT, I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THE TIP OF THE SPOUT HAS HAD REPAIR. IF SO, IT WAS DONE LONG AGO, AND A VERY GOOD JOB. I CAN MOSTLY FEEL A DIFFERENCE IN TEXTURE WHEN I RUN MY FINGER OVER THE TOP SIDES OF THE SPOUT. THERE IS OVERALL CRAZING. ON THE FIRST PHOTO. AND I THINK ON THE 10TH, ... moreYOU CAN SEE SOME DISCOLORATION AND WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN EXTREMELY SLIGHT"X" HAIRLINE, AND IT ISN'T A CRACK THAT GOES THROUGH TO THE INSIDE. IT'S ON THE LOWER FRONT LEFT SIDE OF THE TEAPOT. THERE ARE 2 MAKER'S MARKS ON THE BOTTOM. BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY STAND FOR. THERE IS A VERY CRUDELY IMPRESSED"C" AND NEAR IT, WHAT APPEARS TO BE ANOTHER IMPRESSED BLOCK STYLE"C" I HOPE THAT I HAVE CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED THIS AS BEING AN ADAMS TYPE VARIENT; IT HAS THE S AME TYPE OF DECORATION AS I HAVE SEEN IN MANY ADAMS ROSE PIECES. IT MOST DEFINITELY SHOWS THE PEARLWARE GLAZE. ANY VIEWERS WHO CAN TELL MORE ABOUT THIS PIECE. PERSONS WHO HAVE EXPERTISE, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT ITS CONDITION. PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK. MEASUREMENTS: ABOUT 7 1/2" TALL. TO TOP OF FINIAL OVERALL LENGTH. ABOUT 11 1/2" ALMOST 6" WIDE. AT WIDEST POINT. AS ALWAYS. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, SO YOU WILL BE A HAPPY BUYER! PAYMENT IN THE FORM OF PAYPAL IS EXPECTED WITHIN 3 DAYS OF END OF AUCTION. SHIPPING IS TO THE CONTINENTAL 48 USA STATES ONLY. DAVENPORT BLUE PEARLWARE TRANFER PLATE King George III as Roman Emperor, C. 1800
Fine antique pearlware plate of King George III. Posed as a Roman Emperor, in a blue transferware pattern that is crisp and clear. Antique condition- no chips, cracks, damage or signs of repair, very minimal wear, and with extremely limited amount of cracklature. 19th Century Dinner or Luncheon Plate - Pearlware / Spatterware - Antique - 9.8"
A very handsome(in my humble opinion) 19th-century plate. I'm not at all sure what the correct name is. I've found a couple of similar pieces described as" Pearlware" I've seen a couple described as" Creamware" and this plate's outer rim looks like" Spatterware" Whatever it may be, I think it's very nice& handsome. Very nice, bright white background with dark blue rim. The coloring on the rim seems also to have crept around to the rim on the plate's underside. See pictures, please. Note: If you know what this pattern/make is correctly called. I'd really. Really appreciate hearing from you: I own other pieces. And don't know its correct name. No maker's mark found anywhere on this piece. All I can tell you is that it came from a very good collection of 19th-century pottery/porcelain ... morein Maryland. It was on display in a corner cupboard. On a plate stand(not included) Measures 9.8" in diameter. Very nice condition. No cracks or chips. A couple of tiny marks from utensils. But not large or sizable. Three tiny marks from the kiln stand, on the plate's underside. I've estimated shipping for this piece at $10.50. If it can safely be shipped for less. And if the winning bidder will please hold off making payment until I've issued an invoice, I will charge only the actual postage cost. In no event will shipping cost to the buyer exceed $10.50. Please view all pictures carefully in order to judge condition for yourself. Minor wear commensurate with age. Please ask all questions before end of auction. And I’ll do my best to supply answers. Payment due within 48 hours of end of auction. Shipping available to United States only. No international shipments. If you’ve completed less than 5 eBay transactions. Founded by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759, Wedgwood continues the tradition of upholding its unwavering commitment to providing products that offer the highest standards of design, craftsmanship, quality and innovation. Wedgwood had increasing success with hard paste porcelain which attempted to imitate the whiteness of tea-ware imported from China. An extremely popular product amongst high society. High transportation costs and the demanding journey from the Far East meant that the supply of chinaware could not keep up with increasingly high demand. Towards the end of the eighteenth century other Staffordshire manufacturers introduced as an alternative to translucent and delicate Chinese porcelain. In 1812 Wedgwood produced their own bone china which. Though not a commercial success at first eventually became an important part of an extremely profitable business. Thorough. Dedicated and determined, Josiah Wedgwood took a very scientific approach to the art of ceramics manufacture. He set himself the ambition of reliably producing a perfect glazed white bo
Antique 1775-1840 Pearlware FLOW Blue Feather Edge Ware Sauce Gravy Boat
According to Mccallister's Book on Feather ware( 2001 pg 64) these types were made sometime between 1775 and about 1830. I am not expert but this is a very old Flat footed Sauce boat. and very unique. There are a few problems though. as can be see in the pics. The Handle has not been repaired or replaced but does suffer from a crack. I have not tried to work with it at all. This does not feel like the heavy Porcelain of later years. it feels like a lighter clay stoneware. The flow blue can be sen through out the piece. It is really a pleasure to hold something this old in your hands and know that it has been around for almost if not more than 200 years. 7 3/4 inches long from handle to spout. and 3 7/8 from table to top of handle. Antique 18th Century Prattware Pearlware Sponge Decorated Figurines - Zebras
Antique 18th Century Prattware Pearlware Sponge Decorated Figurines- Zebras These Zebra(they may be goats) figurines date to the late 18th century. They have a pearlware glaze and are typically called Prattware. The sponge decoration on their backs and on their bases attest to their very early manufacture. As does the hollowed out bases. 6 1/4 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Each of the two figurines is in need of restoration. Starting with the one on the left: tail replaced. Horns badly added. Bocage has been broken and glued. Two of the leaves have been partially restored. Remainder of the figurine(base. Legs, body) is in perfect condition. One on the right: Broken in half at the base of the legs and glued. Bottom portion of left back leg missing. Tail appears original but color is wrong. Horns replaced badly. Bocage broken ... moreand glued but leaves are all there with one small edge chip. It is interesting to note that although these two figurines appear to be a pair they are made slightly differently. Zebra#1 has a blue leaf by its right hind leg. This was never there on Zebra#2. Zebra#2 has a mound of grass by its right front leg- this was never there on Zebra#1. If you examine the pictures of the bocages from the back. You easily see thay were cast in different molds. I think these differences are very noteworthy and typical of 18 century ceramics. These were all hand made(hand assembled from various molds) without regard to detailed consistency. Not punched out like modern assembly lines. Zebras never had horns. Either they were incorrectly added by a restorer or these figurines are goats. Your guess. Postage includes insurance. Payment must be recieved within 10 days of the end of the auction. We prefer paypal but other methods may be acceptable. All items are shipped USPS or Fed Ex for the continental U.S. We determine shipping by weight and size of the item. 19th c. Pearlware Historical Plate Upper Ferry Bridge Over the River Schuylkill
Antique Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Plate"Upper Ferry Bridge Over the River Schuylkill We are very excited to offer a striking and rare. Circa 1815-1820, pearlware historical plate depicting the"Upper Ferry Bridge Over the River Schuylkill. The blue and white staffordshire plate measures 8 1/2" in diameter with a scalloped edge. Although this plate is unmarked. We are confident with research that this was produced by Joseph Stubbs, Burslem England. The image is of the Upper Ferry Bridge, which was the largest single span wooden bridge in the United States at the time, spanning 340 feet across the Schuylkill river at Fairmount, Pennsylvania. The bridge was completed in 1813 and was a toll bridge that was part of the Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike. The bridge burned and was completely destroyed in 1838. The transfer ... morescene also depicts a small boat on the river, a couple under an umbrella standing with a dog observing what appears to be an artist sketching the wonderous bridge. The whole scene is encircled by a floral and scroll type border with 3 beautiful eagles. This is a very early plate of a fantastic but short lived architectural wonder and is truly worthy of place in your home or collection. Condition: The plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and retains a nice glossy surface. There is some crazing and staining. Mostly visible on the back and one surface y-line on the back in the glaze only, as it does not penetrate the plate. There are some very faint cutlery marks on the surface with only one 1/4" mark that is slightly deeper. Please use the pictures for absolute condition. Staffordshire Green Transferware Pearlware Childs Tureen or Sugar Bowl c 1835
This is a delightful little child's tureen in a green transfer pattern finished with a pearlware glaze. This was made in the Staffordshire region of England in the 1830s- 1840s. Possibly by Charles Meigh. This would have originally been part of an entire child's dinner service. The tureen features rope-like handles and an acorn filial on the lid. The transfer is a green. Moss or seaweed pattern. There is one small chip on the foot of the piece. And a small hairline crack extending from the filial to the ladle opening on the lid(on the outside) The hairline is slightly longer on the inside of the lid. To the best of my knowledge, there are no other chips, cracks or repairs. With the lid on. The piece stands 2 3/4 inches high. It is 3 3/4 inches wide from handle to handle. Posted with

A Stunning and Rare Wedgwood Pearlware Arum Leaf Tray Circa 1876
Wow. What can I say about this piece. Not only is it stunning but it is very had to find. I personally have not seen the wedgwood pink pearlware done in any other form outside of the nautilus shell pattern. This is a must have if you collect pearlware. The arum leaf measures 17 inches long by 6 1/4 inches wide. Impressed on the back it reads"Wedgwood" with the code year for 1876. It is in excellent condition with very minor wear to the pink consistent with age. There are several tiny manufacturer pin hole marks. The tray is just beautiful. Please look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Feel free to email me prior to bidding with any questions. Blue Staffordshire Pearlware Figural Miniature Plate STONE ARCHWAY 1830 Toy
800x600 Early Miniature Pearlware Meat Plate STONE ARCH SCENERY Staffordshire England c.1830 This is an extremely fine historical Staffordshire miniature toy plate c. 1830. It was most likely made as part of a complete children's toy transferware dinner service. The creamy round soft paste earthenware plate measures 2 1/2 across with a flared rim and flat rimless bottom. The piece is transfer printed in a rich cobalt blue with a pearlware glaze. Hand cut from the mold. The dish is impeccably potted and finely detailed. Depicting the view of a stone archway culvert with woodland scenery in the background. The pattern name is unknown and the exact maker has not been identified. The quality of the form and detailing of the image is far superior to what would be expected on this diminutive sized piece. The plate is in great condition. With ... moreno chips, cracks or repairs. Stilt marks and edge kiln kiss and minor imperfections original to the making and typical of these early wares, but outstanding overall considering age and scarcity of the form and pattern. Examples are extremely hard to come by. The plate is a pocket size work of art and will make a fine addition to any collection of cup plates childrens wares or miniature doll house transferware dinner wares. We are also other early miniature pearlware ceramics to mix and match. Please send us a note with any questions or if you would like to see additional photos. Thank you for bidding!
