A pair of Wedgewood oval serving dishes in Pearlware. Water Nymph design. Pre-1860, I presume, as there is no three-letter date code. In more recent times ... morethey were the centrepiece of the Delft rack for more than sixty years! Approximate size 14" x 12". Generally good condition for age - they were probably always on display rather than used. There is a fine underglaze crack on one (see photo) and I don't know if the "B" mark means they were always second quality. But they are very nice decorative pieces anyway.

Blue Staffordshire Pearlware Figural Miniature Plate VILLAGE CHURCH 1830 Toy
800x600 Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Early Miniature Pearlware Soup Plate VILLAGE CHURCH SCENERY Staffordshire England c.1830 This is an extremely fine historical Staffordshire miniature toy soup plate c. 1830. It was most likely made as part of a complete children's toy transferware dinner service. The creamy round soft paste earthenware plate measures 3 1/4 across with a flared rim deep center well and flat rimless bottom. The piece is transfer printed in a rich cobalt blue with a pearlware glaze. Hand cut from the mold. The dish is impeccably potted and finely detailed. Depicting the view of a road to the village church with woodland scenery in the background. The pattern name is unknown and the exact maker has not been identified. The quality of the form and detailing of the image is far superior to what would be ... moreexpected on this diminutive sized piece. The plate is in fair condition. With a hairline at 6 o'clock and no other chips, cracks or repairs. Stilt marks and edge kiln kiss and minor imperfections original to the making and typical of these early wares, but outstanding overall considering age and scarcity of the form and pattern. Examples are extremely hard to come by. The plate is a pocket size work of art and will make a fine addition to any collection of cup plates childrens wares or miniature doll house transferware dinner wares. We are also other early miniature pearlware ceramics to mix and match. Please send us a note with any questions or if you would like to see additional photos. Thank you for bidding! Staffordshire Pearlware Transferware Childs Plate Platter William Ridgway c 1835
This is a beautiful rare little child's plate or platter in a black transfer pattern with a pearlware glaze. This plate or platter is attributed to the potter. William Ridgway, in Staffordshire, England, c. 1835- 1840. It would have originally been part of a child's complete tea sert or dinner service. The pattern name is'Souvenir' or. Haves and Have-Nots' It features a pair of children sitting on each side of an urn with flowers: one pair is well dressed and seemingly affluent, while the other pair is wearing rags and seems downtrodden. Perhaps it represents the class distinctions in England during the time period. The border features scrolls, geometric patterns, and flowers. This plate or platter also has lovely, scrolled handles. This little piece is a tiny bit over 4 1/2 inches long. Handle to handle, and 3 1/2 inches ... morewide. It stands almost 1 inche high. It is in excellent condition. There is only a tiny bit of roughness on the rim. And age-crazing. To the best of my knowledge, there are no other issues, cracks, flakes, chips or repairs.

Blue & White TUREEN 1800s English PEARLWARE like CHINESE
ANTIQUE BLUE& WHITE COVERED TUREEN WITH GILT POMEGRANATE FINIAL Back on eBay after a lengthy study/travel hiatus. Our collecting focus has changed. So please check us out over the next few months for an assortment of art, antiques, collectibles and art/antique reference material. Up for auction here is a very handsome blue and white ceramic tureen with Chinoiserie-type underglaze blue& white decoration finished with overglaze gilding. This decoration is using transfers as far as we can determine. The shape and finial are typical of Chinese export ware of the late 18th early 19th century and from the bluish pooling of the glaze and the nature of the decoration we are going to conservatively describe this as an early(and experimental) example of English Pearlware from around 1800 to 1810 but possibly rather earlier. Size: approx 11 ... more3/8" x 10 1/4" x 6 1/8" to top of finial) Any questions. Please email. On this item, we are happy to ship internationally to ebay and paypal confirmed shipping addresses(these must be identical) however, please note that although antiques can generally be imported worldwide free of all customs duties and charges, international buyers are responsible for any and all import duties, charges and fees and customs clearance charges that may be imposed.

4 Antique Pearlware Plates w Mocha Colored Glazing Berry & Vine Pattern
Beautiful set of antique English pearlware plates. The plates each measure 9 inches or 23 cm in diameter They are decorated with a pattern that I have never seen before and cannot find in any of my books The decoration is a bit like the strawberry pattern in a mochaware palette. Each plate is impressed"Pearlware" without any other information. I believe them to be rare. Some age crazing with some very light brown even discoloration that mostly shows on the backs. Some very minor losses to the grey color. One plate as a very small(1/4 inch) glaze crack on the rim- in the making not later damage I think. Otherwise no chips or breaks or repairs. Condition is remarkable good for a matched set of 4 soft paste plates of this age

The reverse of the rim has a printed factory mark, and there is also an impressed factory mark- W.S. Co.s Wedgewood. Measuring 7.25" in diameter and in perfect condition.

Antique Mask Lip Transfer Enameled Pearlware Pitcher circa 1790
Antique Mask Lip Transfer Enameled Pearlware Pitcher circa 1790. Fine Antique pearlware pitcher. Transfer printed in blue then enameled over the glaze in orange, pink and yellow. It has a mask lip spout painted in naturalistic colors. Applying damp inked tissue paper to the curved surface of a pitcher was a tricky business, as the various skips and mismatches of this pitcher show. You can see the blue tint of the pearlware glaze where the glaze pools near the handle or in the base. There is no maker's mark. By the manufacture and style, I would date this pitcher to 1790- 1800. The pitcher is 6 inches tall. The pitcher weighs 12 oz(shipping weight 2 lbs) Condition: Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Some rubbing of the brick colored glaze on the pitcher rim. There is small professional repair to the mask spout. Barely discernible. ... moreShipping as shown in the shipping calculator. Click below to. rare ca 1820 English pearlware porcelain 3-pc tea service, strawberry motif
Offered here without reserve is this ca 1820 English pearlware 3-pc tea service in the strawberry motif- teapot. Creamer and sugar. The teapot measures 11" from handle to spout, appx 7" high and 4 5/8" wide; the creamer is 6 1/2" long, 4" high and 3 3/8" wide while the sugar is 7 1/2" wide x 6" high x 4 1/2" wide. There are some apologies, though none that preclude actually using this service. First, the body of the sugar has a browner tone to it that does its lid and the other pieces, thus suggesting that this is an assembled set. Second, both the teapot and sugar have age lines underneath- lines that on the teapot at least come partially thru to the other side. I emphasize, though, that these are not repaired cracks but due to the somewhat natural aging of the pieces. Finally, there is a hairline ... morewhere the handle joins the teapot at the top of the handle- but no crack below and the handle has not been repaired or reattached. In any event, again, there is no reserve but buyer pays $18 for domestic USPS shipping. Insofar as international shipping is concerned, only actual shipping costs will be charged.

Antique Pearlware / Lusterware Syrup Pitcher
Fresh from an estate is this wonderful old pearlware or lusterware syrup pitcher. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The metal lid is on securely and has a good spring to keep it closed. It is marked Royal Rochester on the bottom. Royal Rochester did the handpainting and the beautiful pearlware glaze. But the form was produced by another firm and I can't quite get the name as it is under the Royal Rochester mark. This was not unusual in the early 1900's and many firms, such as Pickard and Stouffer did this. I would date this, because of the way the metal lid is constructed and applied, to the first quarter of the 1900's. This fine old syrup pitcher is fine porcelain. It is about 5 1/2" tall. One thing I love about finding fine old antique pieces is trying to find out the history about them. Who made them, ... morewhen they were made. It is sometimes like solving a mystery and I try to tell you all I know and learn about what I offer. If you have any questions or concerns. Please ask. Fine Staffordshire Pearlware ~ READER AMONG RUINS ~ Blue Transferware Cup Saucer
Antique Historical Staffordshire Pearlware Dark Medium Blue Transferware Cup and Saucer c1830 ~ Young Man Reading Among The Ruins ~ Saucer is 5 1/2" in diameter ~ cup is 3 3/8" across the top. 2 1/4" high A Staffordshire pearlware handless cup and saucer by an unknown potter in excellent condition. This pattern seems to me somewhat derived from the Willow pattern but with Romantic overtones. I don't think the young man or woman belongs in the willow story but there is a Chinese pagoda in the distance and two birds. The cup has one cartouche with the reader and the other side with the Gothic ruin. The borders of both cup and the saucer are filled with different passion flowers. The rim border of the cup is particularly nice as well. In excellent condition. There are the tiniest glaze flaws from manufacture but nothing I ... morewould call damage. Thanks for looking! No Reserve! Please see the other English/ Historical Staffordshire/ porcelain/ pottery/ soft paste/ pearlware/ creamware I have listed.

Antique English Pearlware Flow Blue Tea Canister Transfer Printed 1780-1800
A early English(Staffordshire? pearlware tea canister with its lid. Transfer printed underglaze in blue with a chinoiserie showing four individuals in a garden. Both sides show the same image. The blue is very dark and has somewhat run, looking like flow blue. The glaze has a distinct blue color all over. I have not been able to identify the image from the literature on transfer prints and blue and white. The shape is more common with 18th century creamware. I believe this to be a very early piece of transfer printed pearlware. Ca. 1780-1800. The earliest pearlware was imitating blue and white Chinese and English porcelain and often has a distinctly blue glaze due to the addition of cobalt to the glaze to get the blue color. As is common with early pieces from the 18th century, the canister is unmarked. Condition: The canister and lid are ... morein good condition. With the following damages: Three small chips on de underside of the canister(see photographs of details) A scar to the glaze where the canister touched another object when it was fired Some fleabites Very fine crazing overall Lid: 2 hairlines each ca. 1/2” One chip and one firing crack, all to the sleeve and none of them visible when the lid is on the canister. No restorations. Total height with lid: 3 3/8 inches/ 8.5 cm Maximum diameter: 4 3/4 inches/ 12 cm Shipping and insurance: Buyer pays for priority mail plus additional insurance if needed. With deep blue color and a brilliant Peafowl with a matching hand painted red comb and flowing tail. No chips. Cracks or repairs. Don't miss out on this piece, they are as rare as peafowl teeth! We have purchased a small estate collection and depending on the interest will be piecing it out here on ebay during the next few months. A little background: The most common colors of Spongeware are blue and red. With the rarest of all peafowl plates known being yellow. The pattern is everything to the collector, with the actual consistency of the pottery being of little interest. The colors of our example are incredibly vibrant, and the nicely detailed multi colored Peafowl, is the classic English design. Matching ... morepatterns can be found in Spongeware& Spatterware book by Kevin McConnell. Spatterware has been much sought after for many decades. Essentially, spatterware is a simple pottery, basically a formula of water and unembellished clay, accounting in part for the limited diffusion of the color. The Winterthur Museum in Delaware sports perhaps the worlds largest display of Spatter& Spongeware in its Spatterware Hall, encompassing over 1,200 examples.

Rare ANTIQUE 18THC ENGLISH CREAMWARE PEARLWARE TEA CADDY w/ OLD DUTCH SILVER TOP
I am listing a variety of nice estate-fresh Antique and Vintage Items this week. Here is a lovely and possibly rare ANTIQUE ENGLISH FLUTED CREAMWARE(OR PEARLWARE? TEA CADDY JAR WITH FLOWER DESIGNS and DUTCH HALLMARKED SILVER COLLAR AND LID. Probably c.1790-1800 vintage. Caddy is approx. 5" tall and 3-1/4" diameter. Extra-nice tea caddy with the fluted sides. I am assuming the silver top was added later in it's history to cover damaged collar. The silver is hallmarked on both the collar and the lid with an older Dutch sword silver hallmark along with a strange triangular-shaped hallmark with designs in it next to sword which I am unfamiliar with. Interior of collar is lined with brass. The tea caddy has some flaws. You can see a chipped area showing under bottom of silver collar where the collar was damaged. Also a single hairline ... morecrack going down shoulder on one side. The bottom has a chipped hole spot on it which goes through to interior. Another chipped spot to the bottom rim. The silver lid fits nice and snugly on caddy. There are some mild irregularities on lid but nothing bad. Very pretty piece of antique English creamware. Coming fresh out of an antique English pottery collector's estate this past weekend. INSURANCE INCLUDED in the shipping total. Massachusetts buyers pay the 6.25% sales tax. Look for my other nice Old Items I am listing as well. See listing for payment and shipping details. Feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks for looking!

A fine platinum luster Staffordshire pearlware plate, circa 1800
rhusrluk rhusrluk Antique pottery in good taste– harmic.little A very attractive and rare platinum lustre pearlware plate with shaped edge decorated with honeysuckle flowers in reserve; probably Staffordshire. Circa 1800 Platinum lustre is quite hard to find nowadays.
