Superb Myott Art Deco Jug The painting on this jug is the best I have ever seen on a piece of Myott. There is a direct influence of Clarice Cliff in the shape of the leaf. And the colours used. The mark is in gold(as on an earlier piece of Myott) There is no damage on the jug and only the tiniest bit of paint loss(rubbing on the under edge of the spout) see photo 4. The paint work is heavily applied on the flowers and leaf- the paint lines can be clearly seen. The pattern number is shown as 7907. The jug is 13cms tall and 17cms across handle to spout. For sale is a vintage crate from Bells Bottling Inc. of Paris Kentucky. It is not new or mint but is sturdy. Rustic and different. The crate is sectioned into 4 parts. One of the pieces of wood that form the inner section is loose on one side but in no danger of coming out because the middle and other end are so tightly fitted. Also, I photographed a 4" split in the side which also seems to be in no danger of coming apart. This is a very sturdy crate. I photographed it from many angles. With pierced and ruffled rims and openwork leaf-form handles. The pure white porcelain is beautifully decorated with a deep border of gold flowers and tracery against a pale gray ground. The wells are hand painted with brilliantly colored botanical blossoms: pink primroses on one and purple stock on the other. The raised foot rings are embossed and trimmed with gold. The gold trim does show'pock' marks which is from the original making not a flaw. The pestle(stir) piece shows some wear marks as the porcelain texture is different here. Did not try to clean off. Maker's mark is clear on the bottom in blue ink Porcelain De Paris France with a 2 engraved in the bottom. The interior features a cottage and trees color is a deep maroon shade. The size is just about 12" circumference. depth is 2-1/2" this would be a typical size for this item. The item is in excellent condition.
