This is a beautiful R Bloch Porcelain of Paris platter. It is a marvelous powder blue highlighted by gold trim and framing for the extraordinary floral design in the center of the piece. Please look at the photos carefully to get a sense of the richness of this piece. It is a substantial piece measuring 12 1/2” across and weighing 2 pounds. 2 ounces. It has no chips or cracks. It has been used. But has only has some very slight surface scratching on the gold framing that is visible in person but not in the pictures. The gold paint is not scratched off. 19th century Old Paris porcelain Bougia or portable candle taper
A lovely and rare Old Paris porcelain Bougia or portable candle holder in the form of a large leaf with three smaller spear-shaped leaves surrounding the larger leaf. All leaves decorated in gilt floral scrolls. A handle is shaped in the form of interlaced twigs that curve to form a circle so a person can insert their finger to hold the bougia and the tip of which ends in an indented blossom form that allows the holder to place their thumb in that spot to help steady the bougia when held by the fingers. The candle cup is shaped like a lily( or flower decorated in soft tones of peach on the interior and soft lavender transitioning to pale blue on the exterior, the entire candle cup is also accented with gold line and gilding at the rim. Some of this gilt may have been retouched but if so it is hardly distinguishable. 19th century old Paris porcelain apothecary or vanity jars with lids
A lovely and rare matched set of either apothecary jars with lids or covered vanity jars. These jars are a lovely shade of pink with gilt accents at the base upper rim along the lip of the lid and at the tp of the lid and surmounting the gold ball finial of the lid. The central motif is a gilt foliate rondel surmounted by a blue ribbon and adorned at the top and at the bottom with pink roses. Blue flowers, green leaves and foliage in pale shades of lavender. The center of the rondel is left blank on purpose, the idea being that the owner could add their initials or the apothecary could in turn add the name of the elixer or medicine that the jars were intended to contain. The jars are in perfect condition; the interior of one lid has some orangish-yellow stains; the other lid is slightly chipped on the interior,neither stain or chips are visible ... moreon the exterior of these jars. The approximate dimensions are: with lids on) 9 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at the lip and 4 and 1/4 inches in diameter at the base. The approximate height of the jars(without lids) are 6 and 1/2 inches. The approximate height of the lids alone are 2 and 1/2 inches. These are lovely and fine pieces. VICTORIAN Walnut Rosewood EBONISED& GILT Side Cabinet Hand-painted Portrait on Porcelain This Victorian Renaissance Revival break-fronted cabinet is a handsome combination of walnut. Burl walnut, rosewood, ebonised wood and bird's eye maple. Exhibiting the Neoclassical features so popular in the 1880's, it has a moulded top above a foliate-incised frieze. The gilted incised decorations contrast beautifully with the many colors and patterns of the wood panels. The most striking feature is a panelled door centered on an oval Paris porcelain medallion with a hand painted female portrait. The panel is flanked by fluted columns and outer panels on a moulded plinth with bun feet. Although the porcelain work is probably French in origin, the cabinet itself is in the style of such great New York cabinet makers as Pottier& Stymus. ... moreThe cabinet is in its original finish and has a working key. Old Paris Porcelain cabinet plate. This is magnificent, even with the gold wear, you really don't notice it when you look at the plate because you are mesmerized by the angels, cherubs, or putti, whatever you call them. You know instantly that this is a unique item. The plate has a reticulated rim with scrolled sections that have tiny pink roses on a baby blue and gold background. One of these sections has roses with a horn. The other has two doves, and the other has a tambourine. All the gold on the rim has a thin black outline. ... moreThe center of the plate is white with a blue shadow forest in the background and a blue haze with a tree branch and a bed of roses with- oh, this is the part that"sends" you- are two angels with pale pink wings! This piece is signed by the artist"A Faugeron" Adolphe Faugeron) who was French, and was born in 1866. We are estimating his age as painting this at age 24. Also, the building the retailer(more on the retailer below) used was built in 1850, so that is just our guesstimate. The plate doesn't have a stamp on the back. Instead there is writing, in red: J Etienne, Rue Paradis 29, Paris" as seen in our last photo) How many times have you seen something stated"Old Paris" but really, some things are difficult to be sure of. This removes any doubt. There is no makers mark on the plate, just the retailer mark, but it is excellent porcelain that we suspect is Limoges, or equal excellent quality. SIZE: 9 1/8" across. Stands 1" high at rim. CONDITION: The porcelain is in excellent condition. And so is the painting in the center. We have taken a couple closeups of the gold wear on the rim. Rare Antique Jacob Petit French Paris Porcelain Mantle Clock Case Gilt Sevres
This is a superb beautifully hand painted floral and gilt clock case created circa 1850-90 by the Jacob Petit factory of France. It has a turquoise blue base with gold gilt raised decoration and a lovely colorful floral spray on the front. Overall excellent condition with no major breaks or repairs. Gilt has some wear and also the blue paint mostly to the backside. There is a small firing line in the inner rim of the open clock case in the upper left and a nibble to the right side. The firing line occurred in the make. There is some porcelain material on the bottom of the clock case between the upper part and the base that I believe is original and how they merged the two pieces. Both bear the blue underglaze J.P. marking. Measures almost 12 inches high by approximately 8 inches wide and is very heavy weighted! Antique tall Old Paris or Valentine porcelain vase with hand-painted flowers
With a cobalt blue ground and a huge multi-color scene of flowers and drapes. This Old Paris(or Porcelaine de Valentine) is 21 3/4" high and in very good condition. The porcelain of the town of Valentine is produced in a factory near the French Pyrenees since the early 1800's. Its designs are very similar to the Old Paris ones, but the cobalt blue is a constant as to colors. Here in the USA, the porcelain Valentine is not very well known, and many of its pieces are generally attributed to Old Paris. To complicate matters, Valentine as well as Old Paris porcelains are usually unsigned and unmarked. Diameter at the bottom: 6 1/4" Diameter at the mouth of the vase: 7 1/2" The vase presents loss of gilt(see photos) and at the bottom there seems to be a crack from the firing that doesn't affect anything in the vase, neither ... morestructurally nor aesthetically. Antique Paris Porcelain Converted Oil Lamp 1800's/ Green
I found this at a thrift store. It is 10" tall and 4" across base. It is heavy. It weighs almost 2 1/2 lbs. It is hand painted with 2 shades of green and black. The is a spot of brown discoloration on the back see 9th photo. No chips or cracks. The base is tarnished and I haven't tried to polish it. I don't know when it was converted. It has a newer style plug and the cord is 6' long. Works. Would be a super cute bedroom lamp with a white ruffled shade. I don't know what year this was made but I would guess mid to late 1800's.

This Old Paris porcelain dresser set has 4 pieces including two cologne bottles. Powder jar and tray. The set is pink and has hand painted scenes of houses on three of the pieces and a ship on the other. The tray is 10 inches by 7 ½ inches. The cologne bottles are 4 ¼ inches tall and the powder jar is 3 ½ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. The set dates circa 1860. The tray has some discoloration on the top and a chip on the edge. The cologne bottles do not have their tops and one of them has a nick to the rim. The powder jar has a tiny chip inside the lid. The painted scenes have some minor loss to the enamel along the edges. This is an old Paris porcelain cobalt vase with a hand painted portrait. The vase is cylinder in shape and flares out near the bottom. The vase is 10 5/8 inches tall and 5 inches in diameter. It has a hand painted scene on it of a lovely lady in colorful dress with a bird on her shoulder. The vase has a cobalt matte glaze. The only mark on the bottom is a 27 that is written in ink. The vase is from France and dates circa 1850. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. There is some wear to the gilding and discoloration of the blue glaze.

This gorgeous mirrored pair of Old Paris vases is each 11 inches tall. One of the vases has a woman on it and the other vase has a man on it. The figures are each in 18th style century dress. The vase portion is shaped like a large flower on a stem. There is a liberal use of gilding on the vases. These were likely made from Haviland blanks about 1860. The vase with the woman has had some restoration at some time in the past. The restoration can be seen by the yellow on the back of the vase portion and the inside of the vase. This is a very fine Samson bowl that is about 10 inches long and about 4 inches tall very fine details and a very fine French copy of a German Meissen item. Very fine details with the mold work and grapes and the gold gilt and the hand painted areas. Well marked on the bottom with the Samson mark crossed cuffed swords. They have an impressed oval-shaped hallmark with sunburst and the number 607. Maker and country of origin are unknown. Each measures 17" tall, 8.5" wide and 6.5" deep. There is a professional restoration to the rim, some very small nicks, and a repaired crack on the handle of one vase which is visible in one image. The pair are certainly of continental origin, likely Paris or Austria, mid to late nineteenth century. Hello! Thank you for taking time to check out my auction! Today we have a gorgeous 19 c empire old paris porcelain tea set for sale! The set includes 1 tea pot with lid. Sugar with lid, and creamer. The tea pot measures 7 1/2 in to top of lid handle and 9 1/2 in. from spout to end of handle. The sugar measures 6 1/4 in. tall and 7 in. from handle to handle. The creamer measures 6 1/4 in. tall and 5 in. from pouring lip to end of handle. All the pieces are in relatively good condition for their age! As shown in the pictures, they all have wear to the gold gilding and the teapot has 2 chips. One to the inside rim and one on the bottom end of the spout. As typical of old paris porcelain pieces none are marked. They do have small slash marks that could possibly be numbers? on their bottoms. I am also including in this set, another old paris porcelain ... moreteapot that is a perfect match to the pictured teapot. The only difference is the teapot is missing its lid.
