This is French inspired Louis XV. THIS IS THE PERFECT CABINET FOR NARROW AREAS AS IT IS ONLY 16 1/4" DEEP. PERFECT FOR A DOORWAY AREA! I don't know what kind of woods were used in this piece but some are on the red dish side. The woodThere is a 1/4" wide ormolu panel surrounding all the inlaid wood panels AND around the drawer and the door in the middle! There are the LARGE ormolu medallion panels and on the drawer are the 2 drawer pulls as well. There are 4 large ormolu that go down all the legs to the toe of the feet. ORNATE o rmolu ... moreescutcheon(key included) too. The inlaid wood or marquetry is absolutely BEAUTIFUL with baskets of flowers. Leaves and SCROLLS everywhere! The front door is curved or SERPENTINE and you can see the curve especially when you look at it from a side or look inside! The interior is very roomy! Drawer area although narrow is nice too. The cabinet measures 32" tall. 33 1/4" wide and 16 1/4" deep. Condition is good for an old cabinet such as this is. There are a few issues and one is a professional repair inside UNDER the drawer and it can only slightly be seen at all when drawer is in place. You would have to really look for it. Please see last photo for it. There are a few small chips to the wood(please see 2nd and 3rd to last two photos for them) and a few small areas where the wood is slightly separated but not bad. hello all, this hanging cabinet came out of a wealthy DC estate this week the inlay and marquetry are consistent with Herter Brothers design schemes. the inlay materials include mother of pearl. Ebony and Brass palmettos.all of which are tarnished, but some brass is shinging through in one pic. also the urn on the bottom is inlayed in brass. there are some missing bits of inlay here and there and the left side of the cabinet has an old abrasion. more than likely the cabient started life much darker if not black and was refinished at some point. there are no keys to lock the cabinet. And it is important to note that the lock mechanism on the front door runs the entire height of the cabinet and locks at the top and bottom.very impressive. every inch of his piece is done to the highest quality. 27" tall by 25" wide by 11.25" deep. ... morecheers

Description Beautiful Biedermeier/ Empire Table. A lovely piece of furniture. It exudes quality it is of the empire style and would date from around 1845. The table top has a marquetry design. There is slight lifting to a few pieces of veneer as can be seen in the pictures but they are secure and I am loathed to restore the table in this condition as it(in my opinion) still sound. The overall condition i good there are a couple of small nicks to one of the uprights but its all age related ware so I will let the pictures do the talking. The main wood is Mahogany. The Lion paw feet are made of Brass and the marquetry and banding really draws the eye to the piece. Dispenser Box The person I bought this from told me they bought it at an estate auction a long time ago and the auctioneer thought that it was a toothpick/match dispenser. I'm not sure if this is correct because the only way I can see how to load the box is through the slot in the top. I have never put anything into it because I was afraid of not being able to get it out. It measures 5" long. 2 5/8" wide, and a little over 4" tall. When you lift it up, there is a wooden insert that slides out from the bottom. It slides out about 3" but does not come all the way out. I wish I knew the real purpose of this box or how it's supposed to work. It is in excellent condition with just some minor spots of wear on the finish. Exquisite Louis XV Marquetry Side Table
Unusual. Exquisite Louis XV-style marquetry side table featuring a beautiful design of contrasting woods on its top, sides and two collapsible leaves. Furthermore, it offers on large, locking drawer(no key) another hidden small drawer and cabriole legs with understated carving. It is made primarily of mahogany, with mahogany and other wood(that I am unable to identify) marquetry. The table most likely dates from the 19th century and is in very good condition. The marquetry has a crack across the top center piece. But it isn't lifting nor is it unsightly; just looks old, as it is! Also the drawer has one small chip on its corner. I've priced the piece accordingly. The piece measures 27 1/2" tall by 19 1/2" deep. When the leaves are down. It measures 22" wide; when they are up, it's 36 1/2" wide. The inside measurements ... moreof the large drawer is 14 5/8" wide by 14 7/8" long by 2 5/8" deep. The small drawer, somewhat hidden beneath the large is tapered and measures at its longest points 6 1/2" wide by 11/1/2" long by 3 1/4" deep. Pair French XV Style Night Stand~Marquetry Inlaid Flowers~Ormolu Mounts~3 Drawer
Up for auction today are a pair(2x) of beautiful bombe night stands or could be used for end tables in the French XV style. They are inlaid(Marquetry) designs of flowers and scrolls. The tables are in good used condition. There are a couple of problems I found. the veneer on the corner panels is cracked in some spots and missing a section on a couple of corners as well. There is also some distress to the shellac on top of one table but looks very minor to me. The inlay designs are beautiful as you can see.all of the Ormulu mounts are intact as well. There is brass trim around the top of each table which is still in excellent condition. Again these tables need some TLC but I have priced accordingly. There are 3 dove tailed drawers in each table. As you lift the lid. The sides of the box open simultaneously to reveal an ash tray concealed and fixed on each side. The interior of the box contains three art deco mirrored/timber levels that each hold 11 cigarettes x 3 rows– equals storage for 33 cigarettes. There is extensive information pertaining to this vase in Gary Baldwins book edition 2 and moser glass guides. The vase measures just over 5" tall and 6" wide. Antique Bohemian Marquetry Art Glass Vase Signed & Numbered (#3181)
Signed and numbered iridescent art glass vase. Late 19th to early 20th century, Bohemia. Measures just under 10 1/2 inches high. Roughly diamond shaped with asymmetric. Clearly handformed sides, tapering towards the top. Very rare technique of inlaid/ marquetry glass, most famously made late 19th century by Emil Galle and considered the apex of his artistry. The glass is iridescent amethyst with pink and white inlaid flowers and stems, bending and twisting in every direction and even leaving the ground of the vase at one point and forming an arch(see'photos) The ground glass has a wonderful iridescence and changes in colour depending on the light, much like petrol in water. While the outside has a fairly rough orange-peel texture, the inside is silky smoothe. Underneath. The vase has engraved signature LOETZ and number 14392. We have ... morebeen informed this glass was actually made by the Glass factory Elisabeth at Kostany in the town of Teplitz, also known as Elisabethhutte or Kostany, depending on the language spoken. They made glass for many factories in the then Habsburg Empire(including Bohemia) so the Loetz signature would be dubious.
