It is in new condition. No chips. Cracks, scratches, or marks. Date of purchase is unknown. Comes from our family estate and was never used except for part-time storage behind glass in a china hutch. It has been stored for the past several years in its original box. Owned by a mother-in-law who loved all things royal! You can toast the Queen with your very own Buckingham Palace wine glass! Empty Jean d'Albret Ecusson laydown bottle, rare, with griffin design
This is a rare. Hard-to-find laydown bottle that was made for Ecusson, a fragrance by Jean d'Albret. The frosted glass bottle is 4.5 inches long, and it has a repeating pattern of griffins standing on their hind legs. Sometimes, people misidentify the griffins as unicorns, so if you are searching for a D'Albret bottle with a unicorn motif, this is what you're looking for, just under a different search term. The silver foil label on the bottle shows some wear. And at each end of the label, a bit of the silver foil layer has peeled off, revealing the plain paper undercoating. The goldtone cap has some areas where the finish has worn off. Revealing a darker brown color. The bottle is empty but for the faintest traces of Ecusson perfume residue. Which you can see as tiny brown specks in the bottle. The mouth of the bottle still has ... morethe plastic plug that helped prevent leakage or evaporation of perfume. The plug may be pried out with a fingernail and pushed back into place. I rotated the laydown bottle several times so you can read the silver foil label from one end to the other easily. It has two aerials sticking out the back head part. It is on a Six Sided Base. Hand assembled. Cast of metal and hand primed in White. The aerials are also painted. Antique Ormolu Furniture Mount in the form of a Griffin
An Antique gilt metal ormolu mount in the form of a griffin. I imagine this item has come off a piece of furniture or perhaps a clock and would be extremely usefull today to add to another piece of furniture to enhance the decorative look or cover up some sort of fault. There is 1 small hole in the base of the back foot which is how it was attached to whatever it came off(can just be seen in photo 1. Today I imagine it could also be glued to whatever you require.
