19th Century Grand Tour Bronze Urn on Marble Base Beautifully detailed bronze urn with acanthus leaf decoration- bronze shows great patina that can only come from years of handling. Marble base with hand tool marks and square bolt. Urn is great size to hold a sphere for display or just display on it's own. One side of the urn has a ding in it- I have not attempted to straighten this out. The marble base also shows signs of wear from the years- please see pictures. Italian micro-mosaic cross wall hanging made between 1850 and 1880. This antique, late 19th century piece is very large and has 11 micro mosaics decorating the front. This is a grand tour souvenir from Rome, showing several buildings of interest, including the St. Peters basilica. The center has a dove representative of the holy spirit complete with applied brass or bronze rays emanating from it. The dove is surrounded by smaller religious embellishments. The cross is chrome or nickle plated on brass. The tile work on this piece is really incredible and very fine. This is a larger and heavier than usual mosaic cross. This piece is in fabulous overall condition considering its age and ... morefragility. There is some very minor loss of design to the left tip of the dove’s wing and above the dove’s head but you pretty much have to be inspecting the piece with your nose up to it to even really see.
