VG Old Antique Wood Frame & Tin, Washboard, Murdock & Co Winchendon Mass No 0310
Here's a very nice old or antique wood frame and metal washboard we received recently with some estate items. This one is probably from the 1880's to 1920's don't think much newer and possibly older. It is in nice overall condition though a little wood treatment would help bring out the details of the wood a little better. The maker was E. Murdock& Co. of Winchendon Massachusetts and that might help date this piece. The red lettering indicates this one was known as"Colonial No. 0310" On the back side there is some type of surface decoration or woodburned decoration that is somewhat faint depicting several figures moving about. Not sure what the subject or intent of the scene is. The washboard is about 25 inches tall and 12.25 inches wide, 2.75 inches thick at the top wide piece. No damage noted, should make a ... morenice medium to large sized decor piece though it appears suited to continued use for those who want to build up their arm muscles. Nice. That's about it. Here are two oak treadle sewing machine drawers in their frame. These old drawers were originally part of a treadle sewing machine cabinet and hung under the top work surface. Now they would be an attractive way to organize all of those little desk items. Utensils, pieces of jewelry, or craft items that gather in your home. They have an ornate pattern pressed into the wood on the front. The drawers with pulls are 13- 1/2" long. The frame is 5- 3/4" wide. And the drawers without the frame are 4- 3/4" wide. There are slight rubs and the normal wear you would expect on a frame that has been ridden. Only marks of note are a chip on the front of the head tube(see picture 5) the normal marks where the front derailleur clamp was installed, a paint chip on the drive side rear derailleur hanger(picture 7) and a slight ding to the clear coat on the drive-side chain stay(no carbon damage) also picture 7) Much of the frame has protectors on it to prevent damage. Up for auction is this beautiful antique picture frame with the original bubble glass. Inside the frame is a tinted photo of a young girl. And her kitten. I believe this to be an original photograph that was hand-tinted. This was a very common practice prior to the invention of color film. The frame itself is quite unique. It has gesso floral decorations on all corners. Overall, it measures18 1/4" by 12-1/4" with the actual picture area measuring 16" by 10" The frame is composed of 8 wooden sections and comes complete with a wire for hanging. Outer measurements of the frame are just over 9 ½ inches by just over 12 ½ inches. Frame opening is 9 inches by just less 12 inches. The frame contains an old black and white print– maybe an illustration cut from an old Victorian book or periodical. Subject is nice– a woman seated on a bench with 2 dogs. Introducing them to a larger dog. The smaller front dog looks perplexed! Condition of the illustration is good– no stains. No discolorations. Frame has original gold tone on the carved edges– a good contrast to the black and white illustration. The finish is in good condition and no pieces of the carving are missing on the front– there are a few small spaces that show on the back at the corners. ... moreBut do not show from the front. I have pictured every corner from the front so you can see there are no front corner spaces. Frame and contents weigh about 2 pounds before any packing materials. If you know BMX. You know Eric Rupe! You know that he is one of the nicest Pro's on the planet. He turned Pro in 78' I believe and is still out there racing. I hunted for an Eric Rupe Signature frame for years and even with all the people it took year to find it. And now it has been sitting here in the shop collecting dust awaiting a proper build. Well some things have come up and it is time to let some stuff from the private reserve go. This is what is a 1984-5' era Mongoose Eric Rupe Signature Edition Race Frame. The Eric Rupe Frames were custom Geometry for Eric. It is a steeper headtube angle than the Mongoose Pro Class, and had a higher BB height. overall a TON better handling bike. While the regular Mongoose's were made to appeal to the average kid who wanted to race BMX. The Eric Rupe and Billy Griggs Signature models ... morewere TRUE race bikes you could really race. OK. All you BMX historian's know all about Big Daddy Ralph, Ralph Mundia was an ICON in the world of BMX. One of the first BMX Vendors, and the go to guy to have the trickest stuff in BMX. All the custom powdercoated GT's back in the day with matching rims etc. all done by"Big Daddy" if you wanted custom bearings, if you wanted trick lace jobs, etc. there were very few places you could go and Ralphs Bicycles was one of the original BMX Speed Shops. Well as with most trick shops back in the day. They wanted to build their own frames, and Ralph was no different. He started up the HUSTLER brand. Originally Ralph was getting leftover CW and Powerlite Frames and welding his trademark gusset on them, I have seen a few very rare JMC and GT frames with Hustler Gussets on them) and eventually he did his own production run of frames. ... moreThis one only has the headtube logo left on it. The downtube stickers are gone. I am not sure how many of these actually got made. But this one is Serial# H385 Dropouts and Brake Bridge are in great condition. I know about all the shaped carbon tubesets out there, but trust me, more can fit pumps than you think. I think a common, if rarely voiced concern is an aesthetic one. People are reluctant to put a frame pump on their bike because the aluminum barrel is an unwelcome contrast. If that's your unstated concern, worry no more, Blackburn has made the Frame Pump CF just for you. Yes. CF stands for Carbon Fiber. Yes, it is lighter than the aluminum one. Saves you 33g in the Large size. Yes, it is as sturdy. There's an aluminum tube inside the carbon fiber, so you should have no fear when sticking it in Dave Stoller's spokes. The barrel itself is a compromise between volume and effort, so anyone can use it to pump a tire to full pressure. ... moreA test 700x23 tire went to 120psi in 111 strokes with a medium pump. Max pressure is 160psi. Many don't know how to use a frame pump. There's a spring inside the head end that you compress to fit it onto the frame. The two ends are deeply scalloped and oblong so as to cradle your frame tubes- the oblong shape has become more pronounced to fit oval-shaped tubes. When you need to pump up your tire. You take the pump off the bike, unclip the handle, lock down the spring, push the head onto the valve, flip up the thumb-lock and have at it.
